thanks! I based the logo heavily on the classic Showbiz Pizza sign. I'm glad it could incite memories of campy old signage.
This is kinda legit awesome. I have not played the game and LPs mean I never have to, but I kinda want to get one of these.
I honestly only watched Markiplier play it, myself. I felt I got the full experience from that and I'm eager for the sequel! If it's a bit more strategically varied I'm sure I'll get it and play it/shit my pants myself!
I really don't like this game, but this popularity for it is amazing.
Honestly, I'm just loving the fan-art.

I'd like to see various versions of this. Maybe aping other pizza place logos, or maybe try to mimic an evolving logo that changes based on the decade?
Um... you got clearance from the company that made this game to sell shirts promoting the company and characters from the game? o.o; That'd be pretty awesome if you did.
...and if not, it *might* be copyright infringement. You might want to be careful about selling this until you know you're not going to get your ass sued off for trying to make money off someone else's copyrighted property.
It's pretty awesomely done, and all, but... you know... respecting people's property and being careful and all that stuff.

Even the website you're selling it on has a button to report copyright infringement, at the bottom, and this game is currently CRAZY popular, so someone is gonna see it and report you! Please be careful.
Replace "might" with "WILL".
From what I understand, being commissioned to draw something like this would be okay, but not manufacturing merchandise, unless it was a one-time thing for the commissioner in question.

Since I use no game assets and it's not easily confused with any official promotional material it's legally protected under the articles relating to "right of parody".
That said, if the creator himself took issue with my work I'd happily work with his requests out of respect for a fellow artist.
If you have any further questions regarding Copyright and/or "right of parody" please feel free to ask!

I do still have one question left. "Right to Parody" gives you the right to take someone's idea, change it a little, and then use it to make profit?
For example, I could open a franchise of stores call "Charlie Cheese's" that had everything Chuck E. Cheese's has, had a rat that looked slightly different (say it was a brown female instead of a grey male) and it would be considered legal?
You didn't even go that far; you're using the characters from the game and the name "Freddy Fazbear", which I'm pretty sure all belong to the person or company that created the game. You kept the colors, the name and the concept. And it's legal? Are you sure?

"The first factor is regarding whether the use in question helps fulfill the intention of copyright law to stimulate creativity for the enrichment of the general public, or whether it aims to only "supersede the objects" of the original for reasons of personal profit. To justify the use as fair, one must demonstrate how it either advances knowledge or the progress of the arts through the addition of something new. A key consideration is the extent to which the use is interpreted as transformative, as opposed to merely derivative."
It seems that this work is pretty much derivative, as you simply took concepts, characters and design, altered it enough to make it seem cuter or more cartoony, then put it out there in order to make a profit.
"The third factor assesses the quantity or percentage of the original copyrighted work that has been imported into the new work. In general, the less that is used in relation to the whole, ex: a few sentences of a text for a book review, the more likely that the sample will be considered fair use."
Again, the problem is how you did this. You used all the characters, the company name from the game and the same color schemes. It's basically ripping someone's idea for yourself.
"The fourth factor measures the effect that the allegedly infringing use has had on the copyright owner's ability to exploit his or her original work. The court not only investigates whether the defendant's specific use of the work has significantly harmed the copyright owner's market, but also whether such uses in general, if widespread, would harm the potential market of the original."
Considering how widely popular this game is... and that there seem to be a bunch of t-shirts out there already... selling these shirts without approval, basically trying to cruise under the radar, is just bad business. I get the feeling if you contacted these people they would LOVE your concept. But just straight selling them is gonna get you in trouble!
I want you to understand something. I AM NOT just trying to stop you from selling these; I think they're awesome. But the feel is wrong. It feels like you're gonna get sued into the ground, and after reading up on "fair use" it's a case by case situation. You *might* win, and you *might* end up having to pay back a huge chunk of money to these people for trying to use their idea for your own profit.
I'm honestly just asking you to maybe check with a lawyer or even get in contact with the FnaF creators and offer up your design. Get permission to sell them, or sell them the design itself for a pile of money. To me, I get the feeling this isn't going to turn out well though.

I'm gonna stop harassing you though. People are buying these things pretty steadily, so good luck with this. I honestly hope nothing happens.
As a creator who's been heavily pirated & infringed and consulted lawyers multiple times about related topics, both in specific and in general, not to mention having put considerable time into study (both in the letter of the law AND case by case interpretation) for the past 10 years I feel pretty confidant I can handle my own biz.
1) The design's likeness to FN@F is loose, with the text "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza" being the only element that directly acknowledges the source. A pirate fox, bear with a top hat, "let's eat" bib chicken and guitar playing bunny are not conceptually unique enough to be copywritten and it's only them appearing together that affiliates it with FN@F. They're also rendered in a style completely removed from any official material.
2) At this time as far as I can tell there isn't ANY official FN@F merch, t-shirts included. If Scott WAS trying to sell shirts I would be much more hesitant to sell these, as I wouldn't want to cut into possible profits of his. As it stands it's pretty ludicrous to believe any dollar spent on my design would have gone to Scott (Who buys a shirt for a game INSTEAD of the game? If anything this design has brought MORE attention and interest to the source, as inconsequential of an artist as I am.)
3) As I've explained to everyone who's inquired, If Scott had issues with my design I would completely accede to his wishes WITHOUT the need for legal threat. I know how shitty it is to be ripped off (piracy is the sole reason I stopped making Krista comics.) and I would work with another creator's wishes purely out of respect.
Ultimately you couch your comments as concern for me, but your tone feels like harassment; like you're taking umbrage on Scott's behalf despite not speaking on his behalf:
It seems odd you'd make a public post rather than a private note unless you were hoping to call me out/shame me.
Your over exaggeration regarding a legal threat feels like scaremongering: If Scott was pissed at my sales the worst that would happen is he'd have the design pulled from Redbubble. I've spent enough time in court to know pursuing a case is annoying, time/money consuming and just generally a hassle (especially if you're not in the same state as the person you're entangled with). Taking me to court over this would be recommended against by any decent lawyer. Getting a judgement for the $100 I eventually wind up making from this would cost more than it's worth.
If I'm misreading genuine concern from you, I apologize. Regardless, I've always been an artist who works heavily in parody, I understand the risks involved, I feel very solid on my artistic ethics, and if I want legal advice I will consult a lawyer.

I was honestly concerned for someone who, if not personally known to me in RL, was at least someone who I didn't want to see get in trouble here on FA (yourself). I don't have extensive knowledge of this kind of thing, and so I looked around and tried to find some reference to what I feared you were doing, trying to demonstrate why I thought it might be seen as wrong. I also wasn't aware you were on a first name basis with the creator of the game, and so would know their mind far better than I do. I didn't see a reason to make this private; either you knew what you were doing and were already being careful, as you've proven here, or my words would cause you to be more careful. I didn't think that sort of thing had to be done privately.
I apologize for getting into your business so badly; I only wanted to be sure you wouldn't end up in one of those long, difficult legal situations you describe. I worried that you were letting the prospect of making money cloud your reason a little, since FnaF is so popular right now. Once again, I apologize for interfering.

Needs a variation of the same image for the tote bag like Freddy Fazbear's Ticket Bag. Like for when kids need to carry their tickets in a tote bag at the pizza place.
This is adorable... it's a shame their animatronic counterparts are accidental Decepticons.
Love this!
It's so sad though...
Seeing what they were meant to be...
I genuinely believe that the characters are more sympathetic than many assume them to be.
Whoever made them, did so with care and affection and when making their A.I, achieved a miracle. Made them self-aware. But to keep them safe from those who would abuse them or pick them apart, he asked them where they wanted to be. They had taken an affection to children, so he sold them to a pizzeria. They loved the children who came and poured their mechanical hearts into making them happy.
Then, according to the game's creator, five children went missing there at night. A child abductor stole them away from the place, first using a guard uniform, then using a mascot style Freddy suit.
Foxy was the first to act, biting the perpetrator upon seeing him wandering around Freddy's during the day. The infamous 'Bite of 87'. It led to Pirate Cove being put out of order and in a gross perversion of justice, Freddy's management had to pay massive reparations to the child abductor for the injuries. This made Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy even more upset. Bad enough that Foxy was kept out of sight, partly due to her shame at falling into disrepair and partly due to guilt for bringing this whole thing down on Freddy's.
Their grief led them to take to guarding the place at night by themselves, especially after hearing that Freddy's would be closed down soon.
They believed the kidnapper would come back eventually and when he did, they would terrify him the way he terrified their beloved children.
And when the new night watch guard came, the old guard decided to do some hazing by leaving disturbing phone messages. Meanwhile, the characters vowed to get justice for the children, wanting to stop the security guard from taking more children. They don't know that the real perpetrator is long gone, but the only thing that gives them sanity and the will to go on is correcting the horrible injustice done to them and the children.
So really, Five Nights is about these wondrous, abused and neglected characters trying to exact justice upon someone they think started Freddy's on the path to ruin and heartbreak.

It seems so amazing and yet terrifying to give machines that kind of self-awareness. A lot of people are on the bandwagon that they're just killer robots, but with such a vague story it feels like it could go either way. I liked reading this, though. Really felt more believable than a lot of the junk I kept seeing on the wiki.
this is a good read and makes you feel like this happened in real life
well done! ;]
FNAF.. btw why is is so popular? everywhere i look i see fan art XD

The game touches upon the fear of robots coming to life outside their original function... of something innocent during the day and downright creepy at night. It's like if you went to Disney and suddenly a random robot just came after you. You can't fight back against a robot. You're helpless. The whole game revolves around preventing any of that from happening via careful monitoring, doors, and limited power.
It's a psychological horror. Not a typical horror game filled with gross looking monsters that you blast with a gun. Some aren't as scared of it, but personally it freaks me out. Yet, I love the fan art.
Unfortunately, it's a pretty short game if you can manage to get through it. I'm still getting the nerve to play it myself.

I have never played the game before, but this makes me want to go to someone's house that has steam and play that game and record my reactions WHILE I wear that t-shirt xD
Aside from a tshirt, I think this would make a neat poster as well!
That being said, I'd buy one of these shirts in a heartbeat!
I'm hoping it'll be available as many things when we figure out the details!
If this gets the stamp of approval for official FNAF merch then big congrats to you dude!
I'm just eager to hear the horror stories of the conventions coming up this October when people start cosplaying... :D

I hope you can start selling these officially. I was looking forward to getting one!
This is how kids see them
This is how young adults and security guards would like to see them.
Love this. Also, the logo as a similarity to "Show Bizz Pizza"

Glad to see you've made the character look less dilapidated & murderous and a whole lot more cute & cuddly. I'm always on the lookout for that...
Just so gosh darn cute and awesomely done!
And the sign at the bottom is just so retro-tastic! XD

Ahaha, awesome. I own this shirt. I figured someone in the fandom was responsible (seriously, no one from outside seems to get cute animal people right). I have gotten so many complements for the awesome shirt and it's easily one of my favorites.
