yeah that was the inspiration.. bobo actually looks a lot like several of the heavyset characters from go nagai's getter series :0
I was getting a more Devilman vibe but I can see the getter.
SO CRANKY. The shoujo one seems to be the biggest stretch when you have a manly character, I've noticed. The Jojobobo is hilarious, and I think it was an interesting choice to make the realistic bobo human.
maybe i should do an alt version with a realistic bear bobo someday XD

You nailed Shoujo and Old Manga, but Ero-games, being less visual than the anime and manga mediums, requires significantly less drawings in general, and thus usually ends up being a highly detailed version of the other two mediums.

might be weird to hear that from me, but i never played an ero game..(i don't know if saya no uta counts?) so i kind of had Captaingerbear suggest me some games, this one in particular is supposed to look like anaholic ..but your reference is actually inspiring, i might want to change that particular one :0
Saya no Uta absolutely counts, considering it's a Visual Novel - which is basically what eroge are to begin with. I suppose it's fair to draw one like that, because in a lot of anime and manga, eroge is often depicted like that (at times rightly so; the good ones are really good, like Saya no Uta - but they're far and in-between).

it's supposed to recall the style of go nagai's works, but i understand why it would remind you of akita no joe! the authors are different, but i always mixed them up!

Haha, I won't tell you to draw more human Bobo, but I will say that how effortlessly you turned him out is a pretty good example of why I think that some day you're going to submit a piece and it's going to be so good that it will literally kill me.
