I'm not totally sure about bird irises, but I used to habitually make my eyes too large. If you're adjusting to a tablet from traditional mediums than doing large broad shapes can help.

Stuff like this. A trapping of a learning artist is focusing so hard on minor details. Learning one thing at a time can be good if there is something you feel you need particular practice with, but you can always define things roughly and then focus on details that are more important to the image.

Thanks for the tips, I definitely will be checking thow resources out. I just got a tablet off my sister so I figured something cool to draw would be an eye thus these two images where born. I don't have much experience in traditional art and even less in digital so I'm more learning then adjusting. I know about the trap though this pic was just me having some fun with brushes, I would never try and make something that realistic on a lager scale.

Its a decent eye and art is all about practice. Talent will only get you far. Hard work is everything else, which is most of it.
