I've decided to start pushing myself as an artist, which means doing things that otherwise make you uncomfortable or nervous. Hence, backgrounds and pieces that don't focus entirely on a face, and bigger canvases.
Okay I love big canvases <3
Trip planning has boosted me into inspiration mode, and my boyfriend has some awesome photos from his last trip to South Africa that have been begging to be painted for eons.
Since I'm still on a pastel kick, this baby got the fuzzy treatment with velour and soft pastels. Its a medium that has a serious learning curve. Especially when you have a relatively limited supply of colours (pastels aren't the easiest things to "mix" colours with..)
This is also my largest piece done with pastels yet, its 12"x16".
This piece will be for sale sometime tomorrow, as soon as I can snap some full-daylight photos of it.
12"x16"
