This was more or less a test for my new Cintiq Companion and Corel Painter 12
And...ohwell...it feels GREAT to draw on that tablet and Corel Painter has the most amazing Pencil-Brushes (the rocks were done in PS)
So...yeah. I love the Companion. Even if I don't feel like I'm worth it.
Yeah. I feel it's a little bit too much for a tiny artist like me.
This is not fishing for compliments, that's just what I think... I hope some more practice will help that feeling. I really need ALOT of it.
And...Wyvern are COOL.
Maybe I try coloring it later. I feel super insecure right now X_X

Wow. I thought this was actually done traditionally at first. I should look into Corel if it can look like this.
it totally feels like traditional to work with too! Specially if your tablet can translate pressure and tild!

How much did the Cintiq Companion and Corel Painter 12 cost you in total? I'm looking to buy some software.
I got them together in a bundle on the wacom europe estore for 1.900€
yea same here I'm intrigued I'm using windows 8 surface pro with modded drivers how much is corel?
corel painter 12 is not the latest version and in europe it costs about 100€

It takes a while before you get used to both a new computer and drawing board. Both combined would be so weird. XD

oohh! i'm thinking of possibly getting the companion.. just so i can take it to work with me and work on my stuff.. i spent the $1000 on my original cintiq several years ago and haven't regretted it once.. the companion is something i have really been hoping for.

how the hell did you get corel to work? i had it for a week before i tossed it for sai. It would not work whatsoever
I really like how you added spines to the tail top instead of the scorpion tail i see a lot of wyverns drawn with. More stylish looking. Are the spikes poisonous? Cause that would be so cool xD.

I wanted to draw smaug first, but then I got bored of just coping the reference image and went crazy.
But the two finger one thump winghand was something I drew like that even before smaug - on my own dragon rotarr (it was sooo cool to see THAT design-choice in the cinema*_*)

I have a wip going on Smaug... dunno when I'll get around to finishing. I know what you mean about the feels regarding just copying, though I saw it as much as an artistic exercise than anything.
Regarding the 2finger thumb design, its quite awesome, and for a wyvern makes much more sense... I mean... you'd still like to manipulate objects if possible, and uhh... not having fingers kinda blows that. Heh.. I can imagine seeing that on the big screen would have been a pretty cool feeling.
But nicely executed.
