This is a Sci Fi Action/Adventure transformation story featuring my "Neo Mythical" species concept. While the ideas presented are fairly serious it is packaged in a somewhat lighter wrapper with plenty of humor (subtle and overt) and a little bit of over-the-top silliness. The story is self contained and complete in every way. If you are interested in the concepts presented or if you simply like what you read drop me a comment and it might encourage me to write more. If you are an artist who is skilled at drawing shiny metallic hide or robotic stuff or dragons and unicorns I am always looking for more commissions (or gifts XD ). If you would like to rip off the Neo concept or write in the setting go right ahead!...just let me know.
This work is not only a standalone transformation story, but represents an introduction to my United Federation of Alternate Worlds story setting and, more directly, to my race of Neo-Mythicals. I created the Neo concept back in 2006/7 as part of an effort to bring supernatural creatures into an advanced Sci Fi setting without having them become subsumed or displaced by sufficiently advanced technology. Basically in a world where everything that made supernaturals super in a mundane setting had itself become mundane how can they then be elevated back up to their former position?
From a transformation genre perspective if you are wondering if you should read this story I assure you there is a little bit for everybody all woven nicely into a classic sci-fi action adventure plot. While this is clearly a setting with transformations, I would not call it a transformation setting which means that one needs to think up a compelling plot that makes good use of the ambient TF potential. If you like what you read and came think of ways you might like to see the universe extended please let me know as it will probably inspire me enough to write more.

So far I have commissioned an illustration for this story from
tokaido which depicts the Neocorn Guardian Ethera leaping into the action to save the protagonist from a couple of mooks.

Read this the other day, I really enjoyed it. You've got a good sense of plot and pacing. The characters were all interesting - I liked the band of smugglers. You've got a well thought out world built, and the little details like Ethera's budget and the way the interdimensional black market works really make the story's blend of the fantastic and the mundane feel real.
Only thing that I'd suggest you look is at is that a lot of Ethera's comments really make no sense, as they're clearly premised upon a greater knowledge of the society she comes from. I'm not sure if that was your intention or not.
You should continue this, it was a damn good read, and you've got characters and a setting with a lot of promise.

Thank you so much for reading my story as well as your very constructive comments. I am hoping to get one of the action scenes illustrated by one or more artists. Posting fairly long stories asks a lot more of the audience than art, but learning that someone took the time and felt rewarded by it makes the endeavor all worth while.
Since my normal audience is a transformation mailing list I am trying to expand on the United Federation of Alternate Worlds without another neo-centric story, but I have one good neo story in pre-production. Now that I know that there's some potential with the characters I'll see what I can do about a sequel..

Regarding Ethera, as a Unicorn Lord on a "primitive" world I tried to have her talk down to everybody. She would say things that people would not understand in order to make herself feel superior to them.
That...was definitely a long read. Very, very refreshingly so, considering that most of the stories uploaded are nothing more than short stories that are roughly 5 pages long. I simply could not stop reading.
