Gantu - Unauthorised Experiment [Tame Version]
Dated 28/06/2013
Enjoying a rare moment of weakness for Experiment 626, Gantu decides to try out a little experiment of his own involving a hard floor and a large weight...

Before you say "it'd never happen", let me just say this - I don't care.
Why do animators create such cool villains and then make them look like idiots by never letting them have their own way? Gantu is awesome. Gantu deserves better. And all right, it's perhaps a bit harsh on Stitch to have him getting utterly flattened, but... I'm not quite so keen on Stitch myself. Besides, I've never watched the movies, so I'm not really that fussed.
The more eagle-eyed among you may recognise a portion of this picture from Volume II of my Great Unfinished Collection, posted in my scraps back in March. Anyone who saw the two pictures I submitted in January will probably understand that I was in a serious Gantu mood at the time, and I actually started this picture during that month as well. Originally, it was only ever intended to be a single panel piece - namely, the panel on the left - but having regained my Gantu lust over the last week, I suddenly felt the urge to add a couple of extra squishy panels in to make it 'complete'.
After having struggled a bit with the other recent pictures involving my own characters, it was actually quite enjoyable to go back to the Disney style again and truly enjoy the cartoon style I'd talked about using last year. I feel the difficulty is so significantly reduced when I start working in this style again, and I honestly wish I could make myself loosen up with my own characters to follow suit. There are some errors as ever - I don't think Gantu's feet are the same size in the main image, plus Stitch's proportions seem to vary through the panels and I'm not all that sure about the angle on the third panel. Not to worry though; it's a cartoon.
The colouring was also refreshingly quick too - having not done any shading on these until Thursday evening, I stuck to a relatively simple standard of shading which I was able to apply through all three panels within 24 hours. In short, rather than my usual heaps of layers covering a vast range of tones, I just did one layer of dark and one layer of light, adding a couple of other touches where necessary. Oh, and in case you haven't noticed: lazy random pattern background alert.
Much like the 'Gar-Gantu-An' piece I did back in January, I felt like making two versions of this - one tame version for the majority of the audience (click here), and one crunchy blood-splattered version for the irrepressible crush fetishist in me (click here). As with all my 'hard crush' pictures, the same warning applies - if you don't like, you don't look.
I'd actually hoped to get rather more done this week before starting my new job on Monday, but unfortunately I've been rather ill all week since Saturday and didn't feel much like doing anything until about Wednesday. Whether or not I get any more done now before I start work is very difficult to say, but hopefully the job won't stop me doing artwork altogether... even though I won't be able to submit it in the evenings anymore. And FA seems very quiet during the daytime in this country...
Anyway, hope a few of you enjoy this, and fingers crossed it won't be months before I get something more done.

hmmm... i like it but i think i may have preferred it the other way around ^w^
I suspect this is not an uncommon opinion. Unfortunately.
Lol!
Lol!
My preference is definitely for Gantu rather than Stitch... but I won't rule it out, let's put it that way.
Tut. Poor old Gantu. Everyone always wants to see the good guy win.
Lol!
Well thank you anyway.

Ganta =
Giant Squish =
Possible maybe indefinitely suggestive almost-ish kind Anthro Stitch in future maybe? =

That third one was so long it lost all meaning.
Mmmm i always had a thing for his feet. Tose soles look like their really soft an supple and squishy.....hell i almost WANT to be stomped.
You make it sound like it's unusual to want to be stomped!
Lol! Thanks.
Lol! Thanks.
Lol - oh I'm already aware of that clip, and indeed another Gantu stomp clip from some other element of the Lilo & Stitch franchise. But it's the ending that might've been a bit different...
wait.. shouldn't stitch be able to keep himself from being squashed
Ah, come on. It's not my fault my mind is a bit twisted.
You will. I can't say when at this stage but I can pretty much guarantee that you will.
Holy sh... DAMN, Rex, you are impressive O. .O
I really love how much you continue improving with your pics and new art =)
I know this was all, but honestly will be nice seeing a continuation =) Its always nice when you make
comics like this with the stomped guy stuck to the big dominant foot.
Still, amazing comic there Rex =)

not one for blood but you draw him very, very well, even got the feets right which few do on model. good stuff :3
Funny you should say that, actually, because I don't personally think I do draw his feet quite on model. I tend to find the model Gantu has legs that are pretty much just columns that fatten up a bit as they go down, but I usually try to give him a more distinctive knee with proper muscles either side, and I usually put more of a distinctive foot shape on the end rather than just having a big pillar. Personal preference really on both counts. But I'm glad the rest looks okay.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Well, on-model is subjective and varies depending on the artist, but these look good if not better from model is what I meant, as I try to do the same with my stuff, and your very welcome ^_^
Definitely hope to see more of this canon, teasing him with that shade of grey heh.

Much better without the blood in my opinion but then again, i don´t like death crushes, nice to see you out of your block or is this you trying to get out of it? good draw none the less. How did you get the disney style art so good?
Close observation and a bit of practice. Whenever you attempt to replicate a style, it's important to get hold of as many reference images as you possibly can and then try freehand copying them as seen before doing any of your own stuff with them. That's why I have a folder with about 100 shots of Gantu in it and a few sketches of him in my scraps gallery.
I'm not sure it's as clear cut as this meaning I'm out of my art block, but depending on how much work I can do when my job starts, I still feel at the minute like I could do more artwork.
(Sorry for the hidden reply - borked the link up.)

Matter of preference really - that's why I often make two available.
Hmm, I'd like a Stitch stomping someone, or something, never really seen a 'paw fetish' image of Stitch.
Can't say I ever liked Gantu much, but this is very nice work :o

I've seen some paw fetish stuff of Stitch dotted about, but I can't remember where or by whom. In either case, I'm not really that interested in it. But thanks anyway.
hmm I think it would have been better if gantu squished hamsterveal. because think about he gets ordered around by this annnoying guy who's almost smaller than stitch he should deliver the payback*
Heh - well as I say, I've never watched the movie or taken any interest in the franchise as a whole, so I wouldn't know anything about Hamsterviel. But thanks anyway.
Ah, nice to finally see the piece you'd been talking about to me! While I'd still prefer to see Stitch macro with Gantu under his foot, this is just as amazing. Gantu really makes such a hot, underrated giant~ And Stitch looks just so incredibly adorable in your style, even if he's caught underfoot in the process, and turned to a bloody pulp in an alternate version. ^^;
To be fair, Gantu DOES get it off good multiple times, actually succeeding a few several times in the cartoon series, and in the last Stitch movie "Leroy & Stitch", he's let back onto the Galactic Federation force again and is no longer a villain. He IS a villain again in the anime, but the anime is non-canon to the actual Disney movies and cartoon series so that doesn't matter. XD

Well he can do what he likes in the movies - I'll get more mileage out of him myself. Heh!
Glad you liked it! I knew I'd been talking about this with someone but couldn't remember who.

Hehe, of course! It's your imagination, so you're allowed to be as free with it as you'd like~
Yeah, it was me~ Hehe, and I really am glad to see that the idea went through~!

Marvelous! It'd be phenomenal if there was an extra panel where Gantu lift's his foot, showing the experiment plastered to it x3
Well he half did anyway, so I hope that was enough of a tease. Thanks!
Mmmmm, can't get enough Gantu, glad to see you do more of him! :) I ain't gay, but I'm totally gay for Gantu. :)
That makes two of us then. Lol!
Thanks Dino!
Thanks Dino!
Let's make the things clear: Gantu is great and Stitch sucks. Everyone agreed with this i think.
I really prefer some villians. Some of them are qay better than heroes. Even the one that do stupid things and alweys lose in the end.
Anwyay the background may be a little lame, but is alweys better then don't have any.
I'm curious about something: I alweys looks the tame version of your pics, cuz like you say " if you don't like, you don't look". So, why do you(and other people how have this fetish), like this blood stuff?

Nope. I, as well as many others, think Stitch is awesome, just as much as Gantu, if not more. Besides, by the end of the Disney's Lilo & Stitch series, Gantu is no longer even a villain.
Because it's his fetish and he likes it. Nothing wrong with that. Some people like it, some people don't. That's why it exists to begin with. If you don't like the crush and blood stuff, don't worry about it.

Really? I didn't watch a lot the serie, so I didn't saw he was no more villian. Meh, whatever, maybe I overboard a little my opnion about the chars, but still, some villians are better than the heros.
About the fetish thing, I'm just curious. I like lots of thing but blood stuff ins't one of them. And ask don't hurt, so when I can I like to resolve my doubts.

He turned back to good at the end of the "Leroy & Stitch" movie. I'll agree, yes, some villains ARE better than heroes, but Spike and Gantu are not on that level in my opinion. Stitch is a GREAT character and is perfectly balanced out as a hero. Gantu also has lots of great qualities, but isn't outright better than Stitch. I'm not saying Gantu is bad. He's a GREAT villain. He isn't an idiotic, comedic-based villain as most are, even if he does have several slapstick moments. And think of this: Stitch was in-verse designed to be evil, so, if Lilo didn't help revert him to good, Stitch himself would be a villain and Gantu would be a hero.
Haha, alright. But Stitch really IS awesome and definitely doesn't suck.
It's something that's not very well understood by most people, which is not really surprising. I've tried to explain it before in quite a bit of detail on my website, if you're interested:

One of the sections that might help answer your question:
What causes alarm for some outside observers of these fetishes is where they involve physical harm, especially blood and gore. The implication - and I would argue misconception - that some derive from this is that hard crush/vore fetishists find pleasure in seeing blood and guts.
Again, while I can't speak for everyone, I know this is not true for many. The blood and gore is not the subject of attraction itself - it is a symbol, a physical result of an extreme act of dominance and a significant demonstration of power. The fantasy of having a prospective partner who is capable of crushing someone to a bloody pulp is based on the attraction to that person's power, which the act serves to demonstrate in a way that makes a very strong impression.
One thing that must be remembered with these fantasies is that they are just that - fantasies. Part of the reason why people with such fetishes can enjoy imagining them is because there are no consequences. One can visualise or experience their prospective partner demonstrating incredible dominance and power without anyone or anything actually getting hurt. Put crudely, you escape into the idea, get your fix, and then everything goes back to normal afterwards without any harm done.

Great explanation this one!
I think I miss this part in your web site. Read at net let me tired so I avoid do it and lose a lot of info
But this solve completely my question. I probably will not simply like gore stuff, but I can look now for it with other eyes.
Thanks for answer

That's okay. The section quoted above is just a small segment - I wrote a lot more information on the About page of my website explaining various fetishes I have, so if you're curious, feel free to have a look.
This is Gantu as we all his fans would have loved to watch!
I'm happy you love him and his feet like me, it's an unusual character but, like King Koopa, he looks like he was born to uses his feet and likes it
Hope to see more arts about him by you, you drew him perfectly.
A pov stomp, a foot-licking, those massive feet deserve this and more!

Heh - we'll see what the future holds. Thanks Giran!
Gantu is awesome. Gantu deserves better. Gantu needs a foot licking :3
Indeed he is, and indeed he has!
Thanks!
Thanks!
I would like to be trampled gently by his beautiful paws (I bet his soles are soft and must smell incredible )
You're welcome
You're welcome
i like gantu too. i think he is simply screaming to be a macro but the designers were too held back and only made him "fun macro" sized
By the looks of it he won’t probably be able to eat or move by the end of the day
