I always wondered what's to be proud of something that's not directly "yours", and that's not even a positive adjective.

I'm sorry, but when I had to ride past farms to go to school, the farmers were allowed to let their cattle graze on our open fields during the winter, and the Wal-Mart is the best thing to happen to the 'trailer-park' town around my old Air Base?

Seeing as I'm a Canadian I see everything regarding the US and Canada differently than you would. But I can say I do enjoy many things down around there! Most of the restaurants I've been to typically end up being better than ones around here. Lots of great golf too. Oh and you get a REAL summer... Damn weather... Pretty big fan of ZZ Top, so theres yet another thing spawned from the South.

The simple fact of the matter is that the vast majority of culture unique to the US(excepting true natives) stems from or can be traced back to the south(shallow or deep), through migration, extension, or substation. Especially music: Jazz anyone:(New Orleans)?
