Ooooh, I've been waiting to unveil these! I was fortunate enough to get some horse ears/mane/tail sets from a taxidermist, and I made them into wearables! Here are a few pics--more info available at http://thegreenwolf.etsy.com :)

Those are just absolutely amazing! The paint and buckskin are my favorite, but they are all just wonderful.

nah it's not so much the domestication it's the fact that they kinda scare me a bit XD They're so big and can spook easily and can easily trample/kick you....etc... I respect them as animals though!

It is legal, yes, though difficult; since horse hide isn't used as much commercially as cow and pig and the like, and since horse slaughter for meat is now illegal in the US, you usually have to find individual taxidermists who will procure hides.

Very interesting regarding horse hides in the US - I thought I was correct on that slaughter of horses is illegal in the US.

There re still individual farmers who will euthanize horses for health reasons and the like.
