Today is the first day of my holiday in Cornwall, and so far it's been nice. We haven't had a family holiday in so long it's kind of nostalgic just being with everyone somewhere other than our home. Marazion is nice, though it's been cloudy and rainy (I guess that's to be expected of a british holiday), the locals seem friendly and there's lots of little cafes and gift shops around.

St Michael's Mount was different to what I remember, though we didn't go into the castle today. Instead we walked around the village and then raced back across the causeway before the tide came in, we ended up taking off our shoes to avoid getting them wet, then went on to walk barefoot across the beach.

While we were wading along the beach my brothers started picking up shells and stones, I found myself looking out for interesting ones but instead finding something electronic, I'm now in possession of an Optimum Time sailing watch. I looked around for people in case someone had dropped it, but no one was around... and the watch was two hours ahead, so I think it might have been swept in. Other than having a time which is about two hours behind, it's got a function to count down, but not up. I'm going to use it to record writing sessions, provided I can't find its original owner.

It's been an interesting holiday so far, and the first thing I've written a journal about in a while. I wanted to write this all out somewhere though.
