Looking For Book Recommendations!
Hey all!
So in life events I've recently moved cross-country, and that means I've got a whole new local library to hit up; was kind enough to send me a book recommendation the other day, and I figured it might be nice to hear what sort of stuff other people have been reading! Dranon recommended the Books of the Raksura by Martha Wells (and ngl, had me sold on the cover art alone, because I'm a shallow beeb when it comes to a well-done cover illustration), and I'm looking for more!
The kind of stuff that I normally read and enjoy:
Death Gate Cycle series by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
Legend of Drizzt by R.A. Salvatore (unapologetic fan for life), and most similar Forgotten Realms stuff
Black Jewels series and The Others series by Anne Bishop
Temeraire series and Uprooted by Naomi Novik
Collegia Magica trilogy by Carol Berg
Black Magicians trilogy by Trudi Canavan
In Death series by JD Robb/Nora Roberts
Sunshine by Robin McKinley
Literally anything by Tamora Pierce
Sandman graphic novel series by Neil Gaiman
Basically I really dig anything with robust, interesting worldbuilding, with a definite preference towards fantasy, prehistory, mythology, and the supernatural. I'm pretty open to anything fiction though, so please don't let that be a limiting factor!
What would you guys suggest, and what makes you love it? I don't care if it's the groundbreaking book that changed your life or the book that you know is objectively trash but love anyways, tell me what you like! Don't care if it's a print book, a graphic novel or manga, webcomics, any of it!
