While bringing home Chinese food for herself and Katja, something shiny caught Waza's eye. Poking it's silver nose out from behind a bin, she heard a quiet growl and saw a hungry look. It poked its nose up in the air, sniffing the goodies she had in her possession. Waza stopped to look, unsure if the creature was going to attack her for her food.
Timidly, it approached, looking a bit dejected in it's demeanor. Naturally Waza couldn't just leave the poor thing, so she put the bad of food down on a bench and opened it up to see what she could give it. While deciding whether lemon pepper chicken or sweet and sour pork would be better options to feed stray animals, she felt a brush against her leg. She took a step back, surprised it had gotten so close. The creature took that distraction as an opportunity and grabbed the bag in it's maw, tearing off down the alley.
Angry, with herself and the ungrateful monster, Waza took off after it, easily following the trail of spilled rice and the smell of Chinese food for a few blocks until she was out of breath. Stopping to catch her breath, she leaned against the wall of nearby building. Slowly she started to hear sounds around her as the blood rushing in her ears stilled. She could hear laughing and cheering from down the alley. She looked around, realizing she wasn't quite sure where was.
"Hey pretty kitty, want some milk?"
Waza stilled, hoping that the dog walking towards her was not talking to her. Luck was not on her side as he stopped right in front of her, blocking her way back the way she came. She sighed and looked at him. Tall, broad shouldered, looked like he'd been a linebacker at some point. Not really her type though.
"Hehe, sorry, I'm all full right now. Maybe another time." She tried to squeeze past him, but he wasn't budging.
"Are you sure? I'm sure a pretty little thing like you could use a bit more." He reached for her hip, earning himself a slap on the hand and a death glare from her. Hairs on the back of her neck rising, she knew she wouldn't get out of this easily.
"You better let go of me!"
"Or else what?" He jeered, and she realized exactly how alone she was in the alley. He pressed in closer, and she aimed a knee right for his sweet spot. Guessing what she might try, he adjusted the angle and she hit thigh, "Oh, you think so do you?" He grabbed her hair, big hands preventing her from moving too much. She knew she was done for and let out a small cry, hoping that at least he'd be quick and not too rough.
"Grrrrrr" she heard a familiar low growl and saw a hint of silver before the man lurched, loosening his grip on her. She could see teeth gripping his pants, ripping them and cutting into the skin underneath. Trying to pull away from the beast, he stepped away just enough to let her move down the wall a bit, putting the animal between herself and the dog.
"Oi, what the fug is that thing?" He demanded, holding his now bleeding leg, the creature having released its grip and moving to protect Waza.
"That's my protector.... Beset!" Waza stammered, not sure where the name came from. The animal gave her a sidelong glance, and Waza was convinced it understood what she was saying, but continued to guard her from the man.
"Whatever bitch, I'm outta here." He said as he lumbered off, severely limping on his injured leg.
Waza sighed and leaned against the wall, hand resting on her heart. She looked down at the creature, sitting patiently in front of her. "I suppose you'll want another meal now?" It looked at her, expectantly, of course it did. "Well come on then, let's get more Chinese food."
