Hey all,

This is going to be short, cause I’m feeling a bit too drained to do much. Things are very rough but, I wanted to get something up while I prepare for my night meds to kick in.

So the NYC trip wasn’t meant to be… Deep down I knew it wasn’t going to be a go since basic needs are hard enough right now and summer price jumps really hit our area hard. I’m still pretty bummed though cause the disabled film community has in a short time given me a feeling of belonging furry couldn’t even do in a short time. I was looking forward to meeting the folks that I got my first professional credit with that I could have discussed goals with and learned a bit more of how to move forward in my career. We don’t really have a disabled community anywhere near me down here that has that same sort of community. It also would have been the first actually safe feeling gathering I as a high risk person could have gone to, also would have been my first trip there and timely enough it would have been during Disability Pride Month.

I did get over my recording anxiety and auditioned for a podcast with fun writing recently. Though I don’t know my chances of becoming cast I really enjoyed the experience, it was a fun script and if I don’t get to work on the podcast I hope it might potentially lead to getting called in for more opportunities cause I was having a good time and I vibed with the characters. I haven’t heard back yet and I don’t know if I will but, I had fun and I think recording things will be easier from here on out so I might be able to start recording some things.

I’ve also made some nice progress with my riding, I finally figured out how to keep a consistent pace on Dollar and kinda refigured out some movements that I hadn’t been able to do since the seizure. Some positives in a time I’m having to count them.

Anyways when it rains it pours lately so while I ended June pretty productive and did some things for Art Fight and started sewing some clothing items I need both to make and sell; the social climate around my household’s only gotten worse with current events and my mental health hasn’t been great.
This past week we had to take Mattie to the emergency vet and she was diagnosed with colitis due to my grandparents violating boundaries and sneaking her food. She is doing 100% better now though snubbed her dry food after being on medicated food the past couple days and that’s not financially sustainable on our budget so hopefully we’ll work it out as well as a means to get away from this place. We really can’t feasibly go on in this environment and one of the most upsetting things of the waiting period to find out how she was doing I don’t feel like just sharing here.

Anyways I’m going to go to bed and hope I’ll have some energy back soon to be able to make some informative art for Disability Pride Month cause there is a lot people just don’t know that has really made many already very isolated individuals feel even more isolated, myself included. I also just have some things in the works for more representation in general as well. I’ve had a official Disability Pride Month statement planned but this ain’t it.

This is probably very messy and unstructured but, I’m very very drained right now and looking forward to going to the farm tomorrow clean some buckets, pet some horses, ride for my day of peace.
