The Himbo Fantasy
This is not a good morning. Despite that, the sun still rises, we are alive, and we are still ourselves.
The die is cast. I was anxious to the point of becoming physically ill, but that's when I spoke with my dad. We both realized, through a conversation that went into the wee hours, that no good would come from fretting about things we have no control over. Later on a-nova told me that worrying is like paying a debt that you don't owe, and he couldn't have been more right.
Do whatever you need to. Take a day off. Play games. Eat some comfort food. Go for a walk. Hug a loved one. Have a long conversation with someone you trust. Knuckle down and work. Everyone's needs will be a little different. What slackened my throat and calmed my stomach was the moment I decided to focus on the things I could control: My conduct and my relationships.
Still, last night did demonstrate one thing: That whole Himbo thing? I get it now. At least, I think I do. If you've ever had your brain mutiny on you and wreak havoc on your body, you've probably wished you had the ability to switch it off, or at least dumb it down until your worries went away.
So we arrive at the question of the journal: What is it you enjoy most about himbos? Or do you dislike them? Got any favorites? Got any... pictures of them? Perhaps if we discuss what we find so appealing about dumb handsome galoots we can vicariously experience their simplicity and find some inner peace in this trying time.

Led by the craven, torn apart by the greedy, weakened and exposed, forever on the defence. But no longer.
