Ask questions about Elfane!
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4668612/
So, ask me questions about my Elfane! You don't even need to know anything about them to help. Simply ask things like what they like to eat, their culture, etc. If you already know about my Elfane, try to ask questions that are a little more specific to their species, such as whether or not there are conflicts between elements/tribes etc.
You may not get an answer right away as some may take a lot of time for me to really get a good answer for, but any and all questions will get me thinking more about them, which is helpful!
This time, I will collect all of my responses and put them all on my site so there's a good place for everyone to look to when they want to read up about them. I know a good handful of people have been very interested in making their own Elfane and I apologize for taking so long on fleshing our their world..
Here's what I've rewritten so far. I was going for a simple overview before getting into nitty gritty, such as their duties/jobs, appearance, etc.
The Elfane are a small, bipedal species that wield elemental power. The typical Elfane has very long, erect ears, large eyes with vertical pupils and colored sclera, a long bushy black tail with a colored tip, a dewclaw on each foot and paw-like hands. There are 10 sub-species of Elfane with notable differences between most.
1. Deyva - Divine (Aetherian)
2. Yama - Eclipse (Chiropterian)
3. Vayu - Air (Aetherian)
4. Jala - Water (Aetherian)
5. Hima - Ice (Null)
6. Dala - Plant (Null)
7. Adhira - Lightning (Chiropterian)
8. Lavana - Ground (Null)
9. Anala - Fire (Chiropterian)
10. Sita - Neutral (Variable)
Aetherian Elfane have bird-like wings, Chiropterian Elfane have bat-like wings, Null Elfane do not have wings, and the Neutral or variable Elfane can have wings if certain conditions are met.
If two elements breed and are incompatible, they create a neutral Elfane. If both parents have wings, Neutral inherits wings from father.
If two elements breed and are compatible, the offspring take after the father, or on rare occasions, a hybrid is created.
Divine: The Deyva Elfane are the closest Elfane to the Goddesses. They are gentle and spiritually connected to all beings. They are very positive, energetic, loving and compassionate. Deva are very cool-headed and easy going. They contain infinite knowledge and wisdom of the Elfane culture and history but have limited access to it. They Deyva are considered by many to be very beautiful.
Quirks: Refer to others as "brother" or "sister", even strangers.
Eclipse: The Yama Elfane are animalistic in nature. They have strong survival instincts and are impulsive. They are not malicious, but can be self centered and prone to getting what they want at the expense of others. They have a strong desire for self preservation, preferring to stay hidden and quiet. The Yama Elfane don't feel they fit in with the other Elfane and are often secluded in their own tribes with their own societal expectations.
Quirks: Occasionally prone to pathological lying.
Air: The Vayu Elfane are spiritual and noble. They're very strict and uphold the laws and rules for the Elfane. If a dispute needs settling, Elfane go to the Vayu. They can be judgmental and have a hard time accepting things that are not as they should be. However, they are good-hearted, fair, and always willing to listen. The Vayu are graceful, delicate and otherwise very peaceful.
Quirks: Refer to others as "brother" or "sister", even strangers.
Water: The Jala are noble but lonely Elfane. They spend much of their time watching others from afar. The Jala Elfane have a strong intuition and desire to defend others. They also feel a strong sense of purpose and need to feel needed. The Jala Elfane keep themselves moving, busy and working. They are very introverted, but wish to be closer to others. Despite their need to always be moving and working, they're generally very calm, easy going and not very excitable. Sometimes their placid appearance hides bottled emotions underneath. Attack something that a Jala Elfane is protective of, and you will awaken their fury.
Quirks: Eager to please. Often carry out any task asked of them. Incredibly defensive/protective.
I'm finally putting more time toward my beloved Elfane and I remember how well people helped me to develop them in the past by asking questions about them that I may not have considered before. I have another of these currently here: So, ask me questions about my Elfane! You don't even need to know anything about them to help. Simply ask things like what they like to eat, their culture, etc. If you already know about my Elfane, try to ask questions that are a little more specific to their species, such as whether or not there are conflicts between elements/tribes etc.
