Limited to busts or an abstract design. Leave a reference for the character you want, or tell me your favorite aesthetic (i.e. goth, steampunk, anime, etc.) for the abstract

Looking for a new icon, new references for a couple of characters, or just a half body. I'm willing to do the same in turn. Leave examples of your work of you're interested. Open to both traditional and digital artists.
Questions:
Should I open commissions now, or go set up a PayPal first? I'm itching to start, but I'm well aware of the concerns surrounding mail orders and cash. Please give me some feedback on this.
Would it be a good idea to sell a reference base? I'm working on a few generic body types and thought that might be useful.
Would anyone be interested in adoptable characters? I have some ideas, but I'd like to know for sure if it's worth doing. These will more than likely be a bought item, rather than free.
