About Me!

I moved to the Boston area about 5 years ago, away from the rest of my family. I have some friends here and things are pretty much okay. I work at a little company as an engineer, but really I just do whatever it is that they need me to do.

I am a Maker. I can make pretty much anything, out of pretty much anything, if I have the time and the tools. I used to do a lot of sewing commissions when I was unemployed, but I don't really have the time now. I also used to work as a machinist, and used to write/record music as a hobby, so really, any project that anybody is doing, there's a pretty good chance I have at least a little experience with it.

I also like games, usually the more complicated, the better. I also design my own board games for fun (and hopefully profit!). Our apartment has lots of board games that don't get played as much as I would like, because I don't have enough friends close by!

I do some sports also! In the summer I play ultimate Frisbee and a little bit of soccer. I also really like the obstacle course races, like the Spartan race series, I try to do 3 or 4 of those a year, although it has been getting harder to find nearby ones as of late. In the winter, I am part of a curling club, and I go skiing sometimes too, although that's not as much fun because I don't have anyone to go with. I would like to make a fursuit to go skiing in, though! Although I do a lot of sports, I'm very non-competitive. I hate organized teams and league standings, it makes me way too nervous.

I started fursuiting about a year and a half ago, and I absolutely love it. I especially enjoy interacting with young kids, because they are always so excited. I prefer suiting in places where you don't normally get a lot of fursuiters, so places like anime or other conventions, or renaissance fairs. The people there are so much more excited to see furries than at a regular furry convention, and I think that the more we branch out and show other people what we're like, the response gets more and more positive. I think that furries are some of the nicest, most accepting, and creative people on the planet, and I hope that everyone else starts to see us that way, too. I just did my first AC last year (2014 if I don't update this for a while) and I was totally blown away by the interaction between the city and the convention, it was truly heartwarming to me, and really inspiring.
