And so it begins...here you'll find my species info as I work to develop the Vherain species. I'll try to add to it semi-regularly. Species will be closed until I make more progress, but I hope to open in limited capacity someday. I'm thinking it will be somewhat similar to Dutchies and Alladons in terms of rules and restrictions.

The Vherain species is copyrighted, and is fully closed pending further development. I will be writing a series based on them in the next few years, and may open the species to limited, approved new characters in the future. For now, Ryvahn and Lehrks are the only ones in existence.

More will be added as lore is developed, but for now:

Vherain are a species of intelligent anthropomorphic creatures that evolved in a mountainous world which is currently in a pre-industrial state of development. Humanoids also exist in this world, but the two species have had very limited contact due to extreme geographic separation.

Vherain are primarily canine in appearance, although their evolutionary process was significantly different than ours, making them unclassifiable under our phylogeny. Their head and muzzle are wolf-like in shape and proportion, although the ears much more closely resemble those of a fennec in size and position. Body size is fairly consistent among individuals, with height ranging from 160-176 cm in both males and females. Build is slim to medium and changes little with age. Physical maturity is reached at around 20 years. Infants are born much more highly functional that humans, being able to walk and feed themselves within days. Verbal communication skills develop in several months. Lifespan ranges from 140 to 185 years.

Colors can vary greatly among individuals, including shades of white, tan, brown, and black. In multicolored individuals, which represent the vast majority, the chest is always the lighter of the colors. Up to three colors may be present on one individual. In rarer cases (approximately 8% of the population), an individual may be a solid color, with solid black being the most rare. Solid black individuals were viewed as prophets in the abandoned ancient Vherain religion. Only one black Vherain (Lehrks) currently exists. Stripes are common, occurring in approximately 80% of multicolored individuals. Spots are less common, occurring in the remaining 20%. Eye color is either turquoise or dark brown, with turquoise being somewhat more common.

Vherain tend to be more agile than humans, but overall strength is less than an average human. Vherain technology is focused on medicine and societal well-being, although weaponry does exist. Overall, their technology is slightly more advanced than that of the humans in their world. Their society is peaceful, and violent activity is strongly condemned.

Ryvahn (Riv-an): A central character in the modern story of the Vherain, who was taken as a child and raised by humans before being reunited with the Vherain as a young adult. He is tri-colored with stripes and turquoise eyes.
Hahlcyc: Ryvahn's father, bi-colored, dark and medium brown, with brown eyes.
Lehrks: The only living all black Vherain, a distant cousin to Ryvahn.
Vhalern: Leader of the regional senate in Ryv's home province and vice-chair of the Vherain Continental Senate
