Retrowave is a musical genre and growing culture that harnesses the sound, drive and sheer passion of the 80's. It is one of the most refreshing sounds to hit the music scene and has been long overdue. Retrowave is well known as a modern take on the retro soundtracks of the time, which emerged in the mid-2000s as a style in its own right. It gives a retrofuturistic perspective, emulating 1980s science fiction, action, and horror media, sometimes compared to cyberpunk. It attempts to capture the era's atmosphere and celebrate it.
