I'm not sure how long this was going on (quite some time), or how many folks were affected, but Second Life did SOMETHING to their rendering engine that turned my skin brown! And not evenly so, pats were one kind of brown, and others were another. It was AWFUL! I kept checking back, trying to find a solution, but no luck. Well, today I was doing maintenance stuff, and logged in to DL the latest SL client update. It took a while, because the main update spawned another, and then THAT one had to change everything around again. I also saw a message about "rendering subsystem changes" - and lo and behold, when I finally got in, my skin was black-and-white again! For the first time in (at a guess) more than a year, I finally looked like myself again. Now that I don't look like a bad color-test experiment anymore, I may actually be online in SL a bit. What a relief!
