HEY YALL! Long time no see!

Lets just cut to the chase. Things have been pretty wild these last few years and of course with the pandemic, everyone lives got flipped upside down. Small things are happening here and there, but nothing too much to really make a fuss about. But here are some new things that have popped up in the last year or so. But lets get the updates done shall we. Dont wanna take up too much of yalls time.

"NEW" MANAGEMENT
"New" in quotes because I, Jaden Bleufox, isn't new. BUT I have recently taken the helm as President of the Louisiana Anthropomorphic Association. This organization is a NON PROFIT registered with the state of Louisiana. Since I have taken the helm, I have formed a NEW Board of Directors for not only for the Convention planning, but for the Louisiana Furs community as well to make sure it runs as a safe and inclusive group for those new and old in the community. I will be working with the new BoD to ensure any new changes are done properly and for the betterment of the community. We have seen major growth from where we started out years ago. Its started out as a small friend group, now it has grown beyond that. We can no longer run it as that "small friend group" anymore. and the group had grown so big in such a short amount of time where there was nothing put into place to ensure safety and inclusion within our spaces. Its been unorganized for a LONG time and Im planning on changing that for the future of the Louisiana Furs. Keep an eye out for these changes on our social medias and chat groups soon once I get our ducks in a row.

NEW WEBSITE
This FA page is hardly used for anything, its just a place holder for those curious looking for other Louisiana Furs to lead them where they need to go. I have a hard time keeping up with myself let alone several social medias and chat groups: so if you want updates, please check out our new website! it is our new central hub to our Social Medias, Event Calendar, Merch Store and more! Its nothing fancy, but it works and that all that matters.

KREWE OF AWOUX
Krewe of Awoux is an all furry Mardi Gras krewe that is a Sub-Krewe to the Krewe of Chewbacchus in the Marigny area of New Orleans. It was originally founded by Xerxes Quados in 2017, and first marched in 2018. The original Krewe was dissolved and put on hiatus until this this year. We marched again in the 2023 parade! The locals loved us and everyone had a great time! We are looking forward to 2024!! LOUISIANA FURRY FESTIVAL
HERES WHAT EVERYONES BEEN WAITING FOR! NEWS ABOUT THE CON~ Same convention idea, different name. When I became President, I decided that I will be changing the name of the con from Bayou Furry Bash and moving forward with a fresh start. Will still have Gaston Cocodrie as our mascot, but from here on out, the con will be Louisiana Furry Festival. Also, I am still Con Chair.
Before yall get too excited, Im gonna say now, nothing much has changed. No progress has been made due to road blocks with the building of the organization to even move forward with con planning. There is some legal hurdles to get over into making LAAA legit on paper so we can even move forward towards anything else.

CLOSING REMARKS
While I do my thing, I am calling on all Louisiana Furs to help build back up our community! These last few years have been really rough on us (as a group) as things had gotten strained and we have cracked. Now that we are finally coming out of the pandemic, while things seem still wild, we need each other more than ever. It will be much easier to have a convention with a strong community behind it, working together as one, than a community divided apart. So, in the mean time, Yall do what Louisianians do best: Rebuild, Reconnect and Revive! We as a state have endured SO MUCH in our history that we have shown the world that we can do anything if we put our mind to. The Louisiana Furs are no different. Louisianians are a different breed of people. In the last few months, I have seen what can happen just with a tiny group of us come together to make something happen. Krewe of Awoux is a GREAT example. Spite the AWESOME out come of the event, there was a few stressful moments where last minute stuff went wrong. The group came together, made adjustments and everything was ok! Everyone had a great time and made great memories. So I can only imagine what would happen if we ALL were come together to bring back our meets and events. Showed solidarity with not only our local furry communities but with our local communities, where we live and work, over all. We cant function without them too

I have been in the Louisiana Furs community for 16 years and I have seen it change and grow from its very tiny beginnings on the Forums website to what it is today. Yall have always been there for me, given me SO MUCH in those 16 years, and this is my way of giving back. What I am doing is for all of yall. The Louisiana Furs community is my family and I want to see if thrive and grow even more! But I need yall's help to build it back, not like it was before, but build it back up, even better and even stronger. <3

So, yall go do what yall do best, as not only Furries, but as Louisianians!
