Life Update
Well, a bit of a life update since I've not really been on here so much:
Firstly, I'd like to say that I'm fine, y'all, just been incredibly busy with life. I'll go into details later in more in depth journals, but as of right now, I'd like to just catch a bunch of you all up on the small things I've been doing in my life since my hiatus. Please don't take offense to the shortish journal format, I've gotten rather rusty with my literary skills and don't have that flamboyance/panache as readily available.
As some know, but most don't, I'm a homeowner now. I purchased the home I'd been renting since prior to the pandemic, and I decided to take the leap and buy it outright, so now I can say I officially have a place to call my own territory! It's a modest little home, but it fits me perfectly.
Since I last updated many, I held a few new jobs, titles, and gained valuable knowledge of other trades and processes. I became a Quality assurance technician at a large paper factory in the neighboring state, I became acquainted with a lot of tradesmen and women in that environment and had the pleasure of making some cool friends. I especially enjoyed the company of the HVAC/R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) techs that would come monitor the temps in my lab. After almost a year there, during the height of COVID, I'd developed respiratory problems from the virus and the incredibly dusty environment I'd work in, so I left, much to my dismay. After leaving, I worked at a building supplies company and worked as the architect's protégé for a while, but due to the fact I was being paid less than I was when I worked at Walmart ($11/H as the architect apprentice vs $14/H as a Walmart cashier), and the multiple times I'd asked for a raise, I left the company and started working for an HVAC/R company as their apprentice. I worked there for a while, but after the fact the boss was paying me only $13/H and I'd discovered he'd never signed my apprenticeship card, I decided to start looking for another job, but on the bright side, I'd met my colleagues there, and developed relationships with several of the construction company owners in that trade and many very well to do clientele. I currently work at an Agricultural company that sells animal feeds, fertilizers, vet products, propane, etc. that's only 3 minutes from my house. Ironically, the boss' right hand man at my apprentice is the favorite cousin of my current boss at the ag store and he even told her she'd be insane not to hire me.
I started my own company! Yup! I own a window washing company that offers window washing, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, etc. I'm in talks with a man on the opposite end of my county to purchase his steam cleaning company so I can combine them, and the boss' right hand man I mentioned in the above paragraph? He owns a duct cleaning company that he's going to get off the ground and he's already thinking of selling it to me to combine into my company as well. Luckily, during my time as an apprentice, many of the clientele and contractors recommended me/told others about me so I now have lots of business, even in winter.
Back in January, I totaled my Nissan Altima, I lost control of it hydroplaning and rolled in thrice, completely rolling over a 20 foot grass meridian and landed on my tires almost in the on-coming lanes, but luckily, I didn't. Alhamdulillah, I opened my door and was greeted by two nurses and their ways home and a trauma doctor (none knew each other) as he was heading to work. I was completely fine, but slightly shaken. No blood, no bruising, nothing. I went home to my dogs, made myself some supper and went to sleep.
I dealt with several girls and guys I've dated since I last spoke to y'all, one even went as so far to say he's done with me, but kept/keeps a little plastic horse he thinks I left on his truck and drives a truck he knows I like. (My relationships will be their own journal, trust me guys, there's drama in two of them I need y'all to actually read about )
I'm a real estate agent and Realtor now! I help people buy and sell homes and property! I intend to use my commissions to invest back into my personal company and either focus on acquisitions and diversifications or starting new companies altogether. I hope to start companies that are related to the real estate field: a moving company, title company, notary company, etc.
I'm applying for classes to become a commodities broker and wish to specialize in Agricultural products like corn, wheat, soy beans, etc. and buy and sell them for profits.
Oh! My mother got remarried, so now, at 31, I've got a new stepdad and have a 17 year old stepbrother, lol!
Well, as of right now, that's all I have time to write and update y'all on. As for me, this ol' Appalachian lion is going to get some rest.
See y'all, take care, and watch for deer*
