Because I am one of those sad bastards who cannot draw worth a damn, I write stuff instead. Not particularly good stuff but hopefully somewhat entertaining at least. Not much to tell about me - guy married to another guy for many, many years, living in deepest, darkest New Zealand. Originally came to FA on a dare but stuck around for the amazing art and even more amazing people here - who knew? O_O Thank you to all artists and writers who share so many great things with the rest of us.
The stuff I've written can be found here for those interested. The TCW stories are both novel length, so be forewarned:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2064877/ - The Cold Wind I: First story featuring the Vanguard (Sci-Fi, non-furry, m/m, implied interspecies) - you can buy this story on Amazon.com for your ebook reader as well, here: http://www.amazon.com/The-Cold-Wind.....dp/B0047T7BJS/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2272591/ - The Cold Wind II - Taniwha: (Sci-Fi, non-furry, m/m, interspecies)
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2184432/ - The Cold Wind II - Returned To The Earth: A kind of short epilogue to Taniwha...kind of... (Sci-Fi, non-furry, no sex)
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4626423/ - The Cold Wind II - Distant Shores: Rangi & Blue-Scale's Farewell (non-furry, emotional, closure, no sex)
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2718600/ - Harbinger: (Fantasy, non-furry, m/m, Supernatural Elements)
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1547129/ - The Hunter & The Warrior: (Fantasy, kinda furry, m/m, interspecies)
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3193974/ - Considerations: short story about a demon and his boy (Fantasy, m/m, suggestive but no sex)
While I enjoy talking about the characters I have written about or commissioned artwork of, please understand that I am not those characters. So, my apologies but I am not willing to role-play as a Vanguard. I have no 'fursona', I'm merely a stupid, old human who should know better ;-) Lastly a very big thank you to those artists who I have commissioned, or those who have taken the time and effort to create amazing gift-art for me. Also to those who have given me such great feedback and positive comments about my work - you have all helped to bring my written world to life and that is a gift I treasure highly. Fuck me but you guys are awesome, you know that? :-D
Over and out!

So, I'm not dead...
...I only smell that way! badum-TSSSSSH!
*sigh*
Fine. I won't give up my day job just yet.
A few days ago we took our (host)son up to the airport where we were forced to say goodbye to him after his year-long (well, 10 and a bit months) stay with us. To say it was emotional is to massively understate things, the husband and myself were sobbing wrecks. But it has been worth it - when you have a young man or woman come to live with you for a year or so, where they become part of your family, become your son or daughter... well, it's a mighty powerful thing. It'll turn your life upside-down but in a good way because you'll discover all sorts of interesting things not only about someone else's culture, but about yourself as well.
I'd heartily recommend doing something like this should you be in a position to do so, and the organisation that I'd recommend to do it through is AFS: http://www.afs.org It's a non-religious charity that was originally set up by medical field staff back in WW2 to foster cultural exchanges and they have chapters all over the world in many countries. Even if you're not able to host a student, if you're young enough you could possibly become an exchange student yourself If you're a host family you don't get paid to host a student which is actually a good thing; the student becomes family, rather than someone who is merely paying you to provide food and a roof over their head.
Anyway... life is slowly going to return to normal - whatever the fuck that is now. It also means I can get back into the writing, hopefully.
So what's been going on in YOUR lives?
