So this time around I’ll be going over some changes to Earth’s history which will have the flow on effect for future Universe building for new organisations and cultures.

So like in the normal Star Trek universe Earth has been visited by extraterrestrial life before they discovered Warp technology, but this time it includes races like the Asgardians, Olympians, Ennead and Kree. All of which ended up having big (if not initially obvious) effects on human culture. With the former ones having become part of human myth and previously worshiped as gods while the latter’s effect wouldn’t become known own to humans until centuries later.

The next big change is during World War 3/Eugenics War which happened during the 21st Century. During this time the world was thrown into turmoil by people who had been genetically modified to make them superior which led to them taking over governments. While 100’s of these ‘Super Soldiers’ had been created 5 of them were considered the leaders and the ones who lead the charge in trying to take over the world. These included Khan Noonien Singh, Johann Schmidt, Ra’s al Ghul, Vandal Savage and Nathaniel Essex. Despite all having similar ambitions of global control they all had vastly different opinions on how this should be achieved so between them all there was very tense peace as they split up the planet between them.

Their control lasted several years before a proper defence was able to be made and it came from a most unexpected source, another Super Soldier. It was Peggy Carter a member a of a resistance Military group called the Strategic Scientific Reserve that ended up changing the course of the war. Peggy went through an experimental procedure that altered her to become a Super Soldier.

With the aid of her unit the Howling Commandos they managed to take the battle to the conquerors. The team consisted of James ‘Bucky’ Barnes, Dum Dum Dugan, Gabe Jones, Nick Fury Sr, Happy Sam Sawyer, Pinky Pinkerton, Jim Morita, James ‘Logan’ Howlett, James Montgomery Falsworth, Jacques Dernier and Junior Juniper.

While Captain Carter and the Howling Commandos made a lot of head way and had weakened the enemies forces considerably the remaining governments of the world were still worried and full nuclear retaliation was ever looming. Seeing the tides turning Khan decided that he was going to flee the planet with several of his top people but during this process Captain Carter caught up to him and during the ensuing battle Khan’s ship the Botany Bay was launched with him and Carter on it. The battle ended with both Carter and Khan and his forced frozen in cryopods with Carter’s launched into space lost.

Following the disappearance of Captain Carter the governments of the scared that the ‘Super Soldiers’ would take advantage of her disappearance launched their nuclear weapons causing the end of the war. The other Super Soldiers weren’t seen again, there bodies were never found but there was no seen return (at least as far as they know).

Now another person of interest during World War 3 was one Thomas Wayne. When the war started and chaos insured Thomas rose to the occasion but not in a public manner. To the public he was just Thomas Wayne Billionaire and medical doctor, and while he could help the injured he felt he could do more. Thomas then became the first Batman, a masked figure that helped bring order to chaos. Not only did he help fight crime within his home city of Gotham but also help coordinate police and military defence across the US. He also helped as a consultant with the Howling Commandos helping play missions. It wasn’t until after the war that his identity was made public with Thomas Wayne being considered a hero to the world. The title of Batman is still used even hundreds of years later having been passed down through the family, with the current Batman being Thomas’s descendant Bruce Wayne.

Now the next major event in Human history was First Contact, this happens the same as it originally did but it is Second Contact that is the major change. This came several days after First contact and this wasn’t from some alien race that had travelled a long distance no, they came from the moon. They called themselves the Inhuman’s and it turned out they were descendants of humans that had been experimented on almost 1000 years ago. They had remained hidden for centuries afraid to interact with those on Earth for fear of their differences. It wasn’t until the Vulcan’s had come to Earth and peaceful negotiations had been made that they decided to reveal themselves.

Fresh from the Eugenics wars the humans were cautious of the Inhuman’s at first especially since they used what they saw as genetic modification (terragenesis) to unlock their powers. It would take almost a decade before people became for excepting of them (Mainly from meeting many new races who has to them what would be called super powers). During this time it was discovered that a portion of humans on Earth also carried the Inhuman gene. With the complete blocking of and genetic engineering it was considered controversial topic, should they allow humans to go through Terragenesis or would this just be what they had done that lead to the Eugenics war? It was with a lot of debate and consultation with other races that it was eventually decided that Terragenesis would be allowed in human society but would be strictly controlled with Attilan being the one site that would offer i5 with those that go though with it having to stay there for several months after going through with it to train on how to use their new powers.

In later Universe building I’ll go into more details on some of the individuals mentioned here and well as groups and how they effect modern society
