Trouble In The Kingdom
In the midst of self destruction, the Teplodor people were in fear for their kingdom. For years, the prince Reechaos ruled over the land with the principals he held close to his chest; to protect his kingdom at all costs. In the few months before his passing - due to an incurable illness - he trained a young Teplodor named Ros to take his place. It wasn't long before the prince was laid to rest in a grave in the courtyard of the castle, leaving his mark and a scar on the mind of the Teplodor he had trained and who had grown attached to him. Ros sports a pair of vibrant, yellow eyes. His fur the color of a coffee creamer with brown stripes along his shoulders and a darkened brown tint to his hands and lower legs. He wears his pride just as well as he wears a menacing stature, like a true king. After he was handed the throne, he read the many books contained within the personal library of the fallen prince. He decided he wanted to rearrange his life and named himself King Rossa.
"Looks like these books are the very same ones I heard about through rumors growing up. They all have titles matching the stories I was told." Rossa leans in, slowly flipping through a book of myths; one in particular catching his attention: A myth about the creation of the universe and a being named after the planet Aethia. He caresses the pages of the book, using his finger to guide him line by line as he misses not a single word. As he comes across the pages containing the myth of the Magic Star, his gaze turns cold and he steadies his breathing to an even more relaxed state. Rossa glances over his shoulder through the mirror in front of him to see a guard - a brown Teplodor with a long tuft of fur covering her eye - dressed with shoulder pads, a chest plate and iron-plated leggings. She salutes the king and he rolls his eyes, asking her what she's doing here at this time of day.
"Sushi, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in training?" She nervously smiles, ending her salute.
"S-Sorry sir, but it's really important!" Rossa spins his chair around, leaning forward to put his elbow on his knee, resting his head upon his hand. Sushi takes out a paper containing a written report which appears to be coffee and grease stained, showing Rossa without telling him of her incompetence. Rossa sighs as she hands him the paper.
"Did Anvil write this report? It's all nasty." Rossa's expression changes from boredom to surprise as he reads about an object matching the description of the Magic Star. "The... The myths are true...?" Sushi looks concerned, wondering if the king has gone insane.
"Sir, did you read that correctly? A meteor the size of a golf ball injured a soldier." Rossa immediately gets up and drops the paper, grabbing Sushi and picking her up; he runs off, carrying her with him. Sushi's mind races as she wonders why the king is suddenly so energetic. Running through the town, the Teplodor people look on with amazement at the king's speed. He dashes quickly toward the guard outpost. As he approaches, he jumps over an orange tabby cat carrying a tray of sushi toward a customer. The cat looks up at the king as he leaps several feet into the air.
