I'm Alma!
I'm a jackalope monster of sorts!
Currently a traveling histotechnologist, moving around the US and meeting new people along the way! I like to think I'm easily approachable, so don't be afraid to shoot me a message!
I draw sometimes, though I'm not very consistent. I tend to avoid taking commissions, but I'm open to suggestions!

Hey
It's been a while since I wrote one of these. Figured I might as well do so while I sip some wine and eat some cheese.
So as some of you may have noticed, I don't upload much online lately. Let me rewind my life a little bit so that you guys can understand what's happening on my end.
So back in January, I decided to start working as a traveling health professional. I am what you would call a "histotechnician," otherwise known as the guy who puts chunks of tissue on microscope slides so that pathologists can diagnose cancer and other gross stuff. My job is incredibly technical and precise and I have to grip tweezers for 8 hours a day moving very delicate pieces of tissue extremely carefully so that I don't ruin people's lives. As such, my hands get a little cramped and I've been very self conscious about not overexerting my hands during the day, so I stopped drawing as much to prevent getting carpal tunnel or tendinitis, which is a pretty common affliction for both histotechs and artists. So double whammy.
On top of that, I'm traveling. Every three months I have to find a new place to live because that's how long my contracts last. It pays very well, mind you. I get paid $1.6K a week for those of you who are curious and interested in becoming traveling health professionals. Currently I am in Boston until about mid September before I have to move to another part of the US. I spend a lot of time taking care of myself with chores and errands, so that eats up some of my free time.
Also, another big part of why I am producing less content is because I started a podcast named TIPSY TAILS! tennisballlover and myself read erotic furry fiction while getting tipsy, and it's been a thing I've been doing for almost a whole year, so if you guys wanna check it out, we're on spotify, itunes, and google play. But what I'm getting at is that I have to spend part of my week browsing content, reading, reaching out to authors, and recording.
As if that weren't enough, I started taking an online anatomy course so that I can get required credits to go back to school and get my master's as a Pathologists' Assistant. I do have career goals, and while I do love to draw, I don't love it enough to try my hand at becoming a freelance artist, taking commissions and scraping by.
Not to mention, I also spend some of my free time socializing because this is a pretty lonely life, haha!
The busy life I lead is the best way for me to get money, experience, and credits so that I can get a job later on in life that will support me. I plan on getting an MD as a pathologist eventually so that I am able to help people not just in a medical setting, but also financially. I have met so many people who struggle financially, and I just feel the urge to at least ease some of that burden for the people who have been a strong influence in my life.
I am a very grateful person. I have people who have influenced me positively throughout my life and I don't think I'd be where I am today without them. My motivation stems from the strong urge to give back to those of you who support me along the way. I am revenge-driven, haha!
But yes, I've had to sacrifice some close friendships and potential relationships for this life of mine. I might have the whole adult thing figured out, but I am just as emotionally vulnerable as anyone else. Sometimes I wished I had a travel buddy, but it's nigh impossible to find someone who has the flexibility to travel as much as I do. So if you're in the area of Boston, please reach out to me. I'd love to spend a lazy evening meeting new friends. <3
Anyways, that's my life in a nutshell. Keep pursuing your dreams, people. You are your own limiting factor. Lock onto a goal, plan a course of action, and pursue it with everything you've got. It might take a few years, but you're only moving closer towards your goal.
Take it easy,
-Alma

It's really not that hard. Just a matter of finding out what works and the the finicky part of actually making it do what you want. Double entendre very much intended ;D
Seriously though, it was about time. Thanks a lot for nudging me :3
