Discordianism is a religion allegedly brought into public awareness circa '58-'59 by Malaclypse the Younger and Lord Omar Khayyam Ravenhurst after being enlightened in a Bowling Alley in California. The two of them published The Principia Discordia, and Discordians everywhere rejoiced at having their own holy text.

So you have stumbled across this little Group, have you?
I first discovered Discordianism thanks in part to Fur Affinity. A certain artist made a banner for "Towel Day." I had never heard of this day of the towel, and promptly consulted my local Wikipedia™
For some reason, Towel Day is listed in Wikipedia under "Discordian Holidays." From there, I discovered and read the Principia Discordia. I felt it only right that I create a group for myself and other Discordians on FA. I wouldn't have found it without this site, after all.

I observe chaos every day, and am rather aware of the roles it plays in my existence.
I run into Discordians in places I wouldn't expect to meet one of similar philosophical and/or religious views. Some of the more interesting card games I've learned I later found to be influenced or created by Discordians.

If you would like to know more about this Religion or its followers, I can try and help point you to places that can answer your questions. Or maybe I will instruct you to go to a dilapidated mansion, face a corner, and meditate. I highly recommend giving The Principia Discordia a read, whether or not you are shopping around for religions. It is much shorter than the holy texts of some other religions.
