Beginnings
Originally Danyphoros the dragon was a human by a different name. However, he made a deal with a dragoness to lose his physical humanity for extended life. The ritual of life extension was an agonizing ordeal and one requiring his soul be intrepid and decisive, taking the form of what his heart most sees themself as. If he were to cry out and struggle in anguish against the process in an instinctual resistance, the ritual would fail and he would simply die. The dragon he made a deal with used a special breath that slowly burned the human alive until his skin darkened, cracked, and curved in chips. Despite the immolation continuing, the scorching heat only rose, yet his chips of flesh did not crumble to ash but hardened and changed to become a hide of emerald and ivory scales. The heat began to feel heavy on him, transferring the mass of a dragon as he grew bigger, more elongated, and took shape to the that which his soul had envisioned himself as: a dragon. Spikes pierced outwards from his spine, scorching to bright tips of gold in the heat. Gold whiskers extended and unfurled from the dragon’s snout. Once the ritual was complete the gold tips of Dany’s spines that were positioned from the back of his head down to his neck remained. Not only did the human become a dragon that day, and of a one of a kind species, but his life extended to a span far exceeding even most other dragons. The cost of his change however was tremendous. Not only was he required to power through the pain of the original transformation, but he knew his original life, his routines, and many of his other human habits were sacrificed. Even eating in his new form was drastically different and took a long time to acclimate to for he was now a creature who relied on eating metals to survive. The greatest cost however were to his bonds. Dany cared deeply for humans and human society. He knew that though his loved ones would accept him for what he became, as it did not change who he was, his change would mean he would watch them all pass and even the generations after them pass long before it is his time. He never regretted his decision to lose his physical humanity however. Dany believed his cause for gaining his dragonhood outweighed the cost as all those he loved would live on in his memory and because the very reason he went through all this and became a dragon was so he could have more time to do more for the world and soon worlds as he went off to discover, to share knowledge, and to protect others of all forms of life.

Combat
As the centuries turned to eons, Danyphoros making sure every day counted, he has had many experiences. One kind of experience of note is with dragon slaying “heroes”. Dany almost always overpowers them and gives them a stern kind of look or talking to that makes them quite out of fear. With more malicious slayers Dany would parade them around their kind shaming them for being a murderer until their life is ruined and they are in no state to harm anyone else. In Dany’s immense time alive he has stopped mass extinction level disasters and confronted malicious beings of mass destruction. He is someone who resorts to violence as a last resort believing that it is a sign of weakness if he has to stoop to it, it means he was unable to talk his way out or harmlessly overpower the threat he now fights. This means when he has to kill on rare occasion it’s always an execution in the battle, Dany often going for beheadings and neck snaps and hits in other vital points of the stronger enemy. Unless another’s life is on the line Dany almost never lets anger get the best of him being a solemn and often silent fighter in battle, attacking like a human and a dragon combined with weapons of ice wielded and thrown along with his limbs and jet breath of cutting water. Inevitably the kinds of fights where he has to give his all and destroy his enemy do happen yet they are very rare blips and flashes in his long life. He has been physically scarred in fights before. It was only until after creating reformation magic of himself that Dany was able to remove the scars, subsequently he has an incredibly high pain tolerance both from his innate draconic resilience as well as from said experiences with the most excruciating having always been that of his entire being burned into the form of a dragon.

Now and Beyond
Most of his life however is peaceful and calm with some of his most cherished moments being resting in secluded lands or conversing with all manner of intelligent creature. After thousands of years of journeying and teaching and protecting he finally finds the special dragon who grounded his restless heart. A furred beauty whose deep azul coat, white underbelly, and gold tipped feathers and claws made Dany think of a perfect cloud speckled sunny sky. After centuries of continuing his responsibilities and being with this very special dragon, and through this kind dragon meeting many others of their kind, Dany finally has taught enough people that they can take on the responsibilities for him and Dany retires to spend time with his special dragon Lothar, bound not by friendship nor romance but a deep joyousness for one another.
