Haven't really been around here lately, seems like I haven't been in my own head honestly. A lot seems to have happened yet nothing has moved. Might as well start someplace.

Early September I had gotten a call that our server at work had gone down, since I'm in the IT department as one of my many duties now I had to go in to check. When I got there I ran through the usual suspect issues, the server power and cooling was fine for a change so it had to be the cables coming in off the street (not the first time we'd blown ow the T1 card due to the environment that it's stored in) When I got to the utility closet where the cables run, fire alarm, internet, plumbing and such, I found out that an employee I somewhat knew had hung himself there. So I had the 'joy' of calling the police, dealing with EMT's and detectives (which is nothing like on TV) and got a days off from the trauma. Was forced to see a trauma counselor by my best friend. That seemed to have started a cycle of death around me. Since then I've had 2 aunts pass away, my friend lost 2 of her grandparents who I knew rather well.

So there's been a lot of death and depression around me and has really been getting into my head. Mix that with the stress at work in general and I haven't been eating, sleeping, or really been myself lately. I hardly check my phone for messages so I'm missing or forgetting about ones that have been sent.

Work, well there have been a lot of layoffs with the oil industry taking such a dive, don't get me wrong I like having to pay less than $2 a gallon but it also means that there is no off shore oil drilling being done so my company takes a massive hit in contracts and work load. In the last year we've gone from over 400 employees down to roughly 80, the only way I've been able to keep my job is by taking on extra work from some of our sister plants. I am now assisting 2 other plants with their purchasing needs with another one that may require my help after letting one of their agents go. I also heard that corporate has given us 1 year to turn a profit or they'll close the doors where I work .... so yeah no stress there.
