I think, the deep despair i feel over it has healed.. . in the past time, less than year ago, it would make me wish to kill myself, thinking of the harm i did to others. in the fandom community. but i

i see people who have not done anything wrong in public. it makes me think i am such a bad person because even though i do volunteer work instead of asking for money and donating, so have they but they arent monsters

we blame a lot of our bad behaviour on our past. but if we're aware of it, we should be fighting to change who we are , to be a better person

and it hurts so much more when you make the same mistake again,

i think about how many people i've hurt, through my words and actions. . . i still end up hurting people today, not nearly as much. but it makes me feel so much worse when i hurt others now than it did when i was a kid. ive hurt so many people. hnow many people wouldn't have to suffer if i had just killed myself sooner [bc i sure as heck wasnt learning fast enough to not hurt people]

and i cant apologise because a lot of them are gone and sorries don't seem to mean much to the community anymore. it's just another way to shame you even though you're rtrying to make a legitimate effort

theres a lot of people on the furry community that will bring up every bad thing youve done, every mistake youve made, and inadvertantly [or intentionally] causing everyone to look at you with the only history of you presented being that of which is written in a post

thanks to all of you who commissione dme and from my job, as of this month, we have raised one million dollars for charity. it has been a long time progress, i had started that journey in 2011. you guys have helped a lot of kids. it feels kind of weird sharing this news here but i wouldn't have been able to reach that goal without the help of people whove commissioned me [~$470,000 came from commissioners]

it has been growing harder. my hands are shaky it seem. hard to hold pen sometimes. animation is difficult, and not from carpal tunnel/cubital tunnel and tendonitis whcih i have both

personality seems to have chnaged. mood swings more apparent. seem less rational at time, brain saying one thing but mouth saying another. less impulse control despite medication.

slower on commissions. less ability to run. seems like i stumble a lot more.

i've got some advice for auctions for both artists and buyers

Buyers

be cautious of who is bidding against you. there are artists who will attempt to artificially drive up the bid price by 1. creating a fake account that
if an artist says "the highest bidder backed out, would you like it?" and the highest bidder has a suspicious account, be aware it could have been the artist or their friends driving up the price just to get more money from you. you have every right to withdraw from the auction if you suspect the artist is doing skeevy stuff like this.

a fake account generally is an empty one that has very little interaction [very little comments posted/received]. it can have favourites, but make sure to check when those favourites are posted. if the account was recently made and their favourites are all of stuff that was just posted on the front page, it's likely a fake account. if they have a lot of favourites spanning back longer date, if they have similar upload dates in chunks [eg. their most recent favs have art that was all posted around 3pm on the jan 1st, and then some art that was all posted around 5pm on jan 8th, they're likely only favouriting things that were posted on the front page. this is a setup for fake accounts to make them appear more legitimate.

a blank account does not equal a fake person, but it's a case-by-case basis. be cautious when bidding against empty accounts.

Sellers

creating an anti-snipe guard is good because it helps protect against people coming in at the last second and bidding before it closes. an anti-snipe guard could be something like "bidding will extend 10 minutes after hte last bid was made"

make sure you have an end time [and include timezone so that people know when the end time actually is]. people who don't see an end time for the auction are less likely to bid

posting on Fri and having it end on Sunday is the most optimal time length for auctions because people can relax on friday night and are often home for the weekend, which means more eyes will be on the auction

having your auction have a week timelength - a lot of people will forget that you have an auction going. make sure you have reasonable timeframes

like with what i said bidders, be wary of empty accounts. while empty accounts cna be legitimate, there can also be fake accounts meant to mess with your auction. idk what you did to make them mad but most people dont care to mess w/auctions

auctioning on twitter can be weird since some accounts replies might be hidden by twitter or peopl ehtat have blocked each other may not be able to see bidding so bidding can get janky. bid on a platform that lets everyone see everyone's posts to minimize risk of confusion during bidding. like FA or whatever.

dont get mad if your auction aint getting any bids. if its been two weeks and no one's bid on your stuff, lower the cost or draw somthing else cuz no one wants it at the price you're selling. furries will buy anything if they see the right price it seems. dont make fake accounts just to raise the bid cuz if you do, people will call u out, laugh at you, and tell others not to bid on yo stuff cuz they won't be able to trust if it's a real account they're bidding against

I am having trouble with my mental wellbeing and need to pay to see a therapist. However, because going through insurance would let my job know something is wrong (and basically fuck up my life), I have to pay out of pocket. I can't not go, though. I don't want the thoughts of suicide anymore. i had a plan today and that's the sign i need that it's getting out of hand
The best way for me to deal with this is to be as honest as possible. So I'm telling you that. I don't want to die. But today was too much and i need help.

i posted something similar to this around a year ago that covers some of the same, but

do not buy from these kind of artists:

-artists who say that you cannot receive a refund or request a refund ever [especially in their tos] [this is not legal]
-artists who say you cannot request a refund EVER after paying for the commission [this is not legal]
-artists who charge for edits when the mistake in the art is the artist's fault
-artists who ask for you to pay with personal/family in paypal. this means you cannot chargeback on paypal if they scam you
-artists who ask you to pay for commissions through FA's shinies system. much like the point above, you cannot chargeback what is considered a donation. this also goes for any tip based system like ko-fi.
-artists who ask you to pay paypal's fees. this is against paypal's TOS and you don't want your account compromised because of some furry
-artists who have very long commission lists and slow output. reasons explained below.

be cautious with this situation:
if you have been waiting close to 6 months for a commission and you feel the commissioner will not provide the commission, initiate a dispute with paypal. paypal has a 180 day window for transaction disputes. you do not want to miss that 180 day window or you may never get your money back if the artist is a scammer.
-However, if you and the artist are on board, you can initiate the refund within 180 days and then pay again so that the 180 dispute window is reset. this is useful for commissions that may genuinely take more than 180 days, such as complex suits

signs the artist may not produce your art:
-they have not contacted you or responded to your messages in over 2 weeks
-they are doing personal art but uploading no commission art anywhere
-they haven't posted an update on any of their accounts in over two weeks

no matter how cute/cool/good their art is, you're not going to be that commissioner that's going to be the exception to their bad habits, you're not the girl that's going to tame the bad boy. stop encouraging negative behaviour.

you have the right to a refund.

in some situations.
Artists, if you find the commissioner asking for a refund, you are not obligated to give it to them unless you have not completed the commission in a timely manner [read, what a reasonable person would assume, 180 days is more than enough time. if you don't think so, stop taking so many commissions and get a better schedule]. you are not a bank; whatever life issues they have going on is not your problem to refund because of. it may leave a sour taste in the commissioner's mouth, but what you choose to stand up for is your decision.

if a commissioner wants a refund, you can offer them a partial refund based on how much of the artwork was completed [for example, if you have completed the lineart in a commission that is supposed to be fully coloured, and the commissioner then requests a refund for whateve rreason, you can suggest to keep the amount it costs for the linework and refund the rest].

however, if YOU as the artist wishes to refund a commissioner for whatever reason, you should refund the entire amount, not just what you've completed on the art. the commissioner didn't ask for the refund, so it's not their responsibility to only receive a partial refund.

this is a reminder, since artist attitudes have become more problematic over the months like yall have no common sense wtfsoever.

i always recommend that you do a cursory check, at the very least, on http://artistsbeware.info before commissioning an artist. you may save yourself heartache. if someone has done you wrong, post about it. every post helps warn future potential buyers or artists.

any artist who tells you to send a payment as a GIFT transaction is TO BE AVOIDED AND REPORTED, as they are trying to avoid paypal's taxes [violating their rules] as well as making sure that you cannot get a refund if they decide to skip town

any artist who offers you commissions from this service is to be avoided as well. do not let yourself be scammed! And inform the artists that this may get both yours and their paypal suspended/investigated for further suspected activity of breaching use agreement as well as potential fraud.

this also extends to services like 'ko-fi'. don't buy commissions through ko-fi. If an artist wants to accept commissions, they can do it the TRUSTED way through paypal where both you and the seller are protected.

Educate yourself on the person you're giving money to before you pledge to them

theres been an influx of furry patreons in the past year of majority games/VN. in the past year, a huge ton of these have turned out to be a waste of money for hundreds of patrons, who pledged money only to receive no result. because:
1.) the creator didn't have the resources to actually make the project,
2.) the creator had the resources but no motivation to complete it,
3.) the creator milked the project for as long as possible before dropping it,
4.)the creator baits patrons in but never does any work,
5.) the creator promises certain content but drops a huge bait-and-switch months into the project [big time furry patreon did this, you know who you are]
there are other examples, but these are the main

oh, and milking the project for all its worth, as in taking as long as possible to finish the project, is disgusting and you need to keep a constant eye out for any project you may be supporting, how long it is between updates vs when you're being charged by patreon. Because a few big name furry patreons right now are currently doing this, not gonna name any names, but they're aware they're doing it and have no guilt from doing it.

Going to say it now [and this will generally apply to all other categories of creations, not just games]: Don’t give money to someone who has no record of completing or working on anything like a game in the past. Collaboration or otherwise.

You don’t just build credit by asking for money. You've got to spend it yourself before people are willing to give you loans.

Make sure the person developing the game has a GOOD track record with previous projects AND any commission work they may have taken. No previous examples? No money for them. Are they super late with commission work? No money for them. Dont reward bad work behaviour with giving them more money

Don’t throw money at a person claiming they’ll make a full 24 minute animated movie if they haven’t shown the ability to handle long animation times in the past [I’m talking about 5 minute animations].

People who are serious about their projects would be willing to go a while without pay for their work if only to show they have the dedication to make it. this can be shown through other projects already being completed, or previews of work they’ve already finished for the project they’re pitching you for money

People are using patreon like a kickstarter, but not delivering what they’re promising on their patreon descriptions/tiers. This is super skeevy, scammy, and unethical. If you state you’re going to make something with your patreon, don’t go screwing around saying “it’s just donations, we don’t really have to make it even if we said we would”. Patreons considers all money earned to be taxable, and reports earnings to the IRS. THEY’RE NOT DONATIONS. It’s money for content that you make, and content that you promise must be satisfied

Sorry for the rant. I m really disappointed with the amount of furry patreons popping up that don’t deliver on their promises, and scamming hundreds of people out of thousands of money. hope this has enlightened you a bit on the problem.

i haven't done a free art thing in about 2 year snow, it is time i do another one :) since i will only be taking a couple of extra commissions before the year ends and price shift, it give some people art before that time.

prize is two entry per person, to enter, just leave a comment in the journal with which prize you want [two maximum, please] plus a random number between 1-1000.

i will have a randomly generated number at the end of the raffle. person that has number closest to it will win.

for example comment, it would look like "sketch hybrid, realism, 55"

the raffle will end on tomorrow 8 nov at 9pm CET, and winners will be noted [make sure you have notes enabled, otherwise i will have to choose other winner]

note: the prizes, i will not start on until after i complete my current commission set.
