Posted 3 months agoSince the start of the week indoor temperatures begin at 81F in the morning and reach in the high 80s by sunset.
Landlord/maintenance have been dragging their feet, with me asking the landlord what happened and her acting surprised they didn't show up and God knows when they actually will.
It's been impossible to work as you can imagine. I'm forced to wait it out before I can properly pick up pace again. And it's been raining a lot the past two days so humidity has shot straight up. Yippie.

Relevant to comms/life update: not so much an update but rather status report, August was my catch-up month, I also planned for several bday gifts I had lined up which all fell into my schedule perfectly. Then mid-way through the month my roommate's PC dies. That went from "Oh the GPU seems to be toast" to "Oh the new GPU doesn't fit this case and this case fucking sucks, it's better to bite the bullet and transplant it into a new case". Then it was way more toast than just that and I ended up building a brand-new PC. He owes me from a previous time I spotted him and I spent a decent amount for his new PC. Plus all the time spent transplanting and then re-transplanting all the guts and building the final thing. I had to take on a couple of extra comms to make ends meet (this is a catch-up month, I'm already receiving way less money) but also about 4 workday's worth of time was spent trying to get him a PC on the cheap. That has set me back with August's queue which means one or two folk will have to wait till early September to get their August pic done.
This has also had an impact on the rate I put out Patreon content. I feel immense guilt when I fall back on work so I hope sharing this sheds light on my situation but also communicate I'm doing my best to balance having food and roof but also keep the flow of art going.

Posted 4 months agoA lot can be said about the guy and this website, but I will definitely stand by the fact I got my footing on here and each time another website flounders, I fall back here.
Rest in peace, Dragoneer, especially with what life put you through in your last week on this Earth.
And yes, everyone should be absolutely furious at the scam economy health care system, never let anyone tell you that healthcare in America is fine. Nobody should spend their last days on this earth battling hospital bills and vampiric health insurers instead of receiving a diagnosis and a treatment.
