It's a new year and with new year comes the feelings of victory and success, "ah yes a new year now I can finally hover 3 inches above the ground at an idol stance" most of you are probably thinking. With the new year comes new mascots and new art, I'm hoping to be posting a new years dragon post first, then a fashionably late Christmas drawing, followed by a horse post that will be coming out later.
See? I have things planned this time, I assume that means something.

Other than those more official notices I hope you all have a nice start to your new years and remember if things don't work out right at the start you got 11 more months to make this year a good one. We're all in this together so we've got to make the best of it every second we can.
I know my last journal didn't turn out well in hindsight but life happens and sometimes you simply don't get the chance to do the things you enjoy. That doesn't mean you give up, it simply means you move forward and enjoy the time you can go back to doing those things like you normally could.

A lot of my journals have been addressing a lack of art from me and a hope that I'll be posting more in the future, a lot of those sentiments have fell through. Many times I wanted to post another journal saying it but I didn't because I knew I'd jinx myself or simply I knew I'd fail to post "more art."

This is me saying definitively that I intend to be posting more art, but I'm changing the way I think about posting art, my name is SomewhatSketchy I might as well post sketches, lineart, basic shading, anything I feel like I have the time to do.
So, there will be more posts coming and I'll be trying my hardest to make good on that.

Things this summer have been less than ideal, surprising, I know, so I haven't had many chances to get in an work on art. Things are fairing better and I've been slowly getting more time on hand so art is actually being worked on and finished now. Expect more to come down the line!

Heyo, I try to have a monthly update but I got nothing that's really new, trying to practice a few things so my style is going back and forth at the moment but other than that I got nothing going on other than the usual stuff.


So, as the title says I'll consider this a Q&A if you want to ask me anything about my art or my processes or anything like that, you can ask about other things too but I won't answer particulars in regards to my personal life or C O N T R O V E R S I A L I S S U E S. But I doubt that anyone would care to ask that stuff anyhoo.


I hope this doesn't seem like a lame thing to do but who cares I don't got nothing else. Ask if you want, don't if you don't. I'm letting this float regardless.

Anyone else notice how silly the trailers are? It's so bad it's good right?
I mean, how can the editors keep giving the thumbs-up when every single time they forget to add the sound effects?

It's like, the silence mixed with the occasional grunting and breathing is just so awkward dude.

I dunno, I just think it's just the clumsiest thing ever but every new trailer it happens again... Am I crazy? Am I the only one who hears it? ARE THE EDITORS DEAF!?

DOOOOWWWNNNNN! The level disadvantage is obvious!

He everyone, I was gone for a few months due to some moving and general IRL stuff. I'm back now, expect at the very least weekly stuff again if not biweekly.




I may open commissions or YCHs somethime in the near future and any thoughts or advice are welcome regarding that.

Hey folks, we all hate certain things about certain art and you know you always think about it when you see it.
I've done this before slightly differently but this time I'm coming from a different perspective, that perspective being the little niggles that bug you about this or any other page (please don't name names unless it's me). What is it about furry porn that takes you out of the love for it? Certain traits, expressions, attitudes, poses, positions, anything that grinds your gears or takes you away from the piece. Is it the porn itself?

I like understanding things at a fundamental level and all I really know about furries is that they like seeing genitals, and that's the same for every art community. I don't really know what people dislike and I like general consensuses.


Don't worry about my feelings, they won't get hurt. Be as harsh as you want and tell me what you hate.

















Probably won't get more than a few comments here if any but don't let it discourage you, you can send a hate note if you got something you don't like.

Porn is inherently voyeuristic, you see one person on another and the angles or the focus is mostly one of the third person. I think the whole point of furry fantasy is either being a creature otherwise impossible to be, being with a creature otherwise impossible to be, or both. Yet despite this, most furry depictions with sex or couples are the same old porn voyeurism just as always. I've been just as much of a contributor in this aspect and I want to move away from that. From now on I'm going to do more POV stuff, I'm going to try to get better with the first person perspective.
This means that a good portion of my new uploads, if not all, will be POV. Don't worry tho, it won't all be the same pose redone over and over. POV is only as restrictive in positions as you let it be.


I might be full of shit however, maybe the furry fantasy turns out to be just wanting to see these creatures fuck each other...









I'm also trying to get more stuff done in the free time, I know every drawing has started trending at a month apart but I don't want that to be the norm. I'm trying to get better at time management with my drawing but I got so much stuff in between so all I can do is give my hope that more stuff will come quickly.

Depression had seemed to hit me in a strange way, sketching as I normally do (not posted here because who wants to see sketches all the time?) I found myself drawing corruption and lovely animal characters beaten by loved ones. I'm not sure why I gravitated towards this but it caused an extra week without drawing a completed piece for this account. I thought of skewing my pieces capturing reference on how bodies react to a quick strike upon the head, how to create a movement that feels realistic to being penetrated by something that would kill you, most normally seen without consequence in smut art. I wanted to sicken people without striking artistic merit.

Reading manga as I do in spare time I was picking up what was essentially just torture porn. My feed was only digging up content that furthered my want for brutality and harshness, thus, my position only devolved.

Then, change.

I was recommended something called Inuyashiki. A manga about an old man who becomes a robot.
I'm sure it was due to my devolving thoughts and continued spite but I read the entire manga and found myself with tears as the old man helped others. I've never had tears while reading any manga and I found my condition odd. Every dark, bloody, or similar idea became stupid to me instantly as I realized my thought process to be juvenile, and for a lack of eloquence, edgy.
If people want something dark to fit a kink or a domineering power play in porn they have it already in droves, I will continue with my vanilla porn. I eventually will become a "good artist" and then my delusions will properly be conveyed through digital canvas but until then I will not falter towards personal low points. I will stick around mediocrity until I've achieved alluring art that remains sexual while also conveying love. Until then, my viewers, please stick around and bare with my incompetence a while longer.

As I stated in the last journal some stuff has shifted, I just wanted to explain that the lack of stuff uploaded in October is due to my art time being shifted around. I'll try to get more stuff done this month.
I feel like my porn is being hampered by my liking of bonds and my dislike of the borderline hyper proportions but oh well.

I'm working on an animated loop so that might come out in December or so but until then I'll be uploading my normal porn art as it's finished.

It turns out that I like working without black lines, from now on expect art to look as it has been for the past month.


Giving a little bit of a personal update, I've recently stopped working and I've gone to college last week. This could turn out to be better for you guys or worse depending on my work load from now on. I find myself now with an extra day of no responsibilities each week and my professors say to expect a lot of homework. This could mean that I will become able to post weekly if I look at the extra day, BUT if my professors aren't being dramatic I could be facing a situation where less art will be able to be completed.

I know I could just start posting sketches and flat colors but I'm self conscious about my completed work already let alone anything less then completed so the worst case here is that their may be only monthly images.
BUT DON'T FORGET THAT I COULD ALSO START UPLOADING MORE ART THAN EVER IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS

First of all, I want to make myself clear.
The only reason I haven't deleted everything past the first page in my gallery is because I dislike people who remove content they've provided, I understand that some people like my old art but I really don't. I sometimes think of redoing everything so that when people see my old art they can click on a link bringing them to a less eye hurting version but that seems anti-improvement for some reason, a lot of people would probably hate me after the 100th post of a slightly better version of something they've already seen. It also would mean I wouldn't draw anything new for at least half a year so eh, maybe I'll redraw 1 thing for every year I've been here.

Anyway, to describe the title of this journal I feel like most of my art has been brought down by my line art, I have naturally very shaky hands and no sense for line thickness so the color/shading kind of opposes my line work. I already know everyone dislikes straight up line art so for at least the remainder of this month you should expect no major black lines in any of my new posts.

Will this destroy me?

Will my art ever be the same?

Will Goku stop holding back all the fucking time?


All these questions and more probably won't be answered considering I just draw porn that no one can really get excited about because my art style seems to be anti-sexual for whatever reason.

Hey, it's been a few days but I've stepped one year closer to my true and destined age of 69. Do I feel different now? More enlightened perhaps? No, I just feel slightly more jaded than before. Doesn't really matter but nothing really does if you want to be an asshole about it.

I've been wondering for a while now if my more invested watchers have been seeing a lack of what they liked here, I draw in free time so when I think of something I would like to see I draw it. Biggest problem with this process is that I'm a very varied fishing lure, I draw straight stuff, gay stuff, and trans stuff with many other small fetishes in between. What worries me most isn't that I'm not drawing what I want but that I'm not drawing what large portions of you guys watched me originally for. My art style has also been changing with every other post I make and I don't know if that is a problem anyone has, do any of you wish I made more traditional work or do you hate how I shade my current art? This is all just rambling and you guys may be fine with everything considering I've only ever lost one watcher so this may be irreverent for all I know. The main point of this crap is that if you're disappointed in anything I'm not doing I really do apologize but I can't really do anything about it, I'm twenty two years old now but I've only been really drawing stuff for six years now and I've only started to steadily "improve" about two n' a half years ago. What that means is that if I do something that you think is "great" and then in the next image you don't see the same greatness it's probably because I didn't realize what I did so please continue to be patient with me, I mean, I'm only popular for my porn art so it's not like you people are inspecting every corner of my art it's mostly just "is this sexy or not?"
That being said the whole question on whether my art is "sexy" worries me the most, I don't know if it's the same for all artists but I physically can't get attracted to any of my art so I really don't know if my art is "sexy" or not myself. I look at other popular and non popular porn art to see which side I fall but my art looks quite different from a whole lot of other people's art so I'm always confused. Is my art looking so different from other peoples art a good thing or a horrible terrible thing?
Don't get me wrong I love the attention I'm steadily getting but I wonder if anything I do really matters and if the reason why my non porn art isn't popular because the only reason why anyone would pay attention to my art would be because it's porn. I'm not going to stop drawing/uploading porn art because I'm a pervert at heart just so you don't get the wrong impression.

I've been looking at my old art and wondering if I should delete everything I cringe at but I hate people who delete old stuff from their accounts so the great hypocritical demon sits on my shoulder nodding at me every time I think of this. In one way all the old art does is turn people away from scrolling down too far when looking at my gallery and in another way people look at the art and reflect on how I've "improved."
I might delete them and I'm just writing this so you know why anything might turn up missing in the near future.


Someone asked me a day ago about my Picarto account and why I don't stream, I already answered this person but I'm mentioning this just in case anyone else has wondered but didn't ask. The answer is that quite simply I can't stream right now because my computer and my internet both don't really agree with streaming, I've tried streaming in the past and it was just a struggle for everyone involved. My at program was lagging and my Open Broadcaster shut down and refused to connect a few times too many. For now streaming is impossible.
Also regarding my streaming art, even if I could stream I probably wouldn't because of my work flow. My work flow is completely trash, I take an hour or two for the sketch, then the line work takes another hour or two, and finally the coloring takes me three plus hours to finish. I feel like I would bore the living hell out of anyone who watched me so all options regarding streaming are for now completely busted.

On another note regarding my art I really have been wondering if people would care about pay wall shit with my art, what that would be is pretty much one or two open slots for paid commission/YCH work every month or every two weeks. I don't know if my quality is there yet or if you guys would rather me keep on going with my own art. I feel like it's a boundary crossing position and I don't know if you guys think it would be cool for me to cross that line or not. Once you start the paid process the art is more other people's ideas than your own so I dunno. Any ideas or input there is great.


This whole Journal has seemed to just be rambling from me but all people start to ramble more as they age so maybe I'm just aging like milk left on a table during summer without any cap sealing the milk from the air.

So my life is super confusing right now, sorry about the failed promises of art consistency last month but I'm trying so there.

Anyway, notice the amount of pals here? Over 200! That means I'm close to 300 pals and that's just nifty. I'm thinking of a little celebration in regards to this that may be to the enjoyment of all you pals. What is this celebration? Well I'll describe what will happen and how you're gonna take part.

Hey all who are currently reading, I'm sorry for all the times I've ran journals like this but I've always craved feedback so expect that at the bottom.

An update towards the month of May(2017) I'm currently in an awkward position in my personal life so there are going to be upload booms here and there, I know I usually don't upload for long periods at a time but that is changing at the moment. A great thing going on for me right now is that I'm able to experiment more with my art, I don't know where my style is going but hopefully it'll go in the right place.

so I have a little over 100 watchers at the moment, and no matter if you watched me because you want to see my drawing, or if watching is just a thing you do and you don't really want to keep up with me. I still think your all inclined to know about me, my art flow and whatever else.

for the past year I have had to take care of my mother who has been in and out of hospital and I have not the access to my computer or tablets all but every now and then. this past three months have been non stop for me and i've had roughly 56 hours of sleep in the entirety of three months, this time writing being the first of these months on furaffinity.

However, she is now in a different state because of more family being available to help her, (and my inability to help at the moment because of sleep problems) and this should last for at least 2 months or so.
