Magic the Gathering and Elliots Fall Festival
Posted 12 years agoIf any Magic players are going to Elliots bring your decks or if you know any fur going that plays Magic let them know.
We will have Planechase and Commander (EDH) games and possibly Archenemy if anyone is interested in trying out that format. If we have enough people with EDH decks that want to try Horde Magic I will also be bringing a Zombie Apocalypse deck to play against.
Leave a comment if you're interested so we can get a good idea of how many will be playing. Also please repost this journal or pass it on.

Elliots Fall Festival
Posted 12 years agoRegistration for Elliot's Fall Festival is finally open.
Decided I might as well go to it since there's nothing else to do this month. Going to bring my Magic decks and my Planechase cards so hopefully I can get a nice large multiplayer game going. If anyone else is going and you play Magic bring some decks and tell your friends to as well. EDH/Commander is welcome as well. Going to try to get a zombie horde deck constructed as well so if we can get at least 4 EDH decks, it should be an interesting experience.

Return to Ravnica
Posted 12 years agoTonight is the release of the new Magic the Gathering set Return to Ravnica. Ravnica block was my favorite Magic set of all time and I'm so excited to be getting back into the game for this new Ravnica after being out of the game for the last six years. Last weekend I participated in the prerelease and got an amazingly lucky pull with double rares in all my packs. Ended up playing Green Black Golgari and won the tournament thanks to a second turn Lotleth Troll and a handful of Sluiceway Scorpions to pitch and Scavenge. I haven't had that much in the last six years. Going to the card shop at midnight tonight to pick up a box and see what I get to build with for Friday Night Magic tomorrow.
Home from Work and Recieved an Early Birthday Present...
Posted 12 years ago....from mother nature. I walk in my room to a loud whirring whine and the smell of ozone...my tv blew out becuase of all the storms. As far as I can tell all my retro consoles that were on the same power strip are fine but I cant test them because I have no TV. So I figured I'd test the consoles by plugging them in through my computer because I ahve a tuner card my most wonderful and amazing best friend gave me while we were dating. Well I turn the pc on, log in, turn the tuner on, and I get no sound. Figure the card blew out to so I remvoed it and rebooted and tried my music player...still nothing... Guess the surge protector worked but the cable line must ahve been hit because my entire system was on battery backups and surge supressors...
Long story short need new tv, need new mobo...possible new tv tuner...

Posted 12 years agoJust a quick note my birthday is on Tuesday, the 10th of July. Hopefully I can get all my homework done and not have to spend the day catching up. Taking summer classes sucks... I've been solving triangles and dreaming about pi for the last month now. Yay Trig! But yeah anyone wanna do stuff?
Also got my room for Megaplex and have the weekend off, so excited to see all my friends again. Gotta find out who else is going so let me know if you'll be there.

Graduation Party This Weekend?
Posted 12 years agoThinking about doing a Graduation Party this weekend but not really sure. Not sure whether to do it Saturday or Sunday and I dunno who is even free this weekend to hang out and stuff...or what to do... I'm so terrible at throwing parties xD If anyone has suggestions for the weekend or if you're free let me know so I can figure out what to do :3
Graduated with Honors and Diablo III
Posted 12 years agoSo after spending 4 years working on my 2 year Associates of Science degree I finally graduated with honors yesterday. Ceremony as long and boring but I'm finally glad to be done with it and was really happy to have my friends and family there. Afterwards my brother 
and a few other friends went to IHOP. Had such a great time chatting about and Dungeons and Dragons and other stuff.
Afterwards spent some time with my bro and his roommate driving around until midnight and picked up my graduation present to myself. Bought the Diablo III collectors edition and ended up having to return to my bro's place since his roommate left his keys and his cell phone in my car T-T When I finally got home installed the game and then my network went out...turns out my motherboard's network card is flaky and I couldn't get back on all night... At least I managed to get on in the morning after messing with the board and got a few levels in before the usual post-launch server downtime.
So just waiting for servers to stabilize and come back up now, anyone wanna play with me when stuff comes up my battle tag is Ratia#1170 Hope to see some of you in game soon :3

Recent Happenings and Elliots Spring Gathering
Posted 12 years agoFirst off let me start by saying it has been a very long time since I've actually posted anything. Was tempted to do another Valentines Update but I spent the day with my amazing mate now turned ex at the time doing Civ 5 all day :3
Things have been going really well recently, I'm finally at the end of my degree and on track to graduate with my AS in Networking on 14. I'm actually really excited to graduate and hopefully have free time to play Diablo 3 when it comes out.
Job situation is looking up as well. I started an internship for my degree in January and have decided to continue working with the company through the summer. There has been a lot of talk about at least getting hired part time and possibly managing a Level 1 Helpdesk and maybe even more.
And finally Elliots Spring Gathering. Was such a blast hanging out with everyone, and making new friends. Ended up rooming with and his new bf. Was a bit awkward being in the same room with them but overall they were great. Saturday I ended up spending most of the day with 
and his mate 
and ended up going to dinner with them and 
and 
. Ihop was a blast and we ended up almost converting our waitress to a fur xD Afterwards I ended up meeting 
and 
and had my first real drink xD Sunday was pretty much the same hanging with the guys and I also ended up meeting 
. So I'd say the con was a success, ended up making 6-8 friends more than I had hoped :3
Oh yeah almost forgot I was luck enough to get one of the last Rainbow Dash badges from
She's such an amazing artist everyone go watch her. I wish I had actually pulled up the courage to talk to some of my favorite artists that were there but theres always next time.

Posted 14 years agoyay yet another journal that people probably don't read. Its Valentines day and I'm spending the day alone playing EverQuest2 and practicing bass. Anyone else out there as bored as I am?
Also been playing bass for a couple months now and I feel like I'm actually getting worse at it as time drags on...dunno if that's a natural feeling because my hands seem to be getting slower...or maybe it's just that I'm actually used to playing now. Anyways anyone have any good suggestions for some songs to practice, mainly been playing a Red Hot Chili Peppers and Queen and I need something new to help me get better.

Graphics Card Exploded >.>
Posted 15 years agowell not really exploded but the thing did blow... apparently I was running a 400w card with a 305w psu for a good two years... decided to completely blow up on me after I plugged one of my two new Samsung 22" widescreen LCD monitors into it. Took about five minutes before the capacitors all popped and now I need a new graphics card and psu since my Dell's power supply sucks more than me.
As soon as I manage to get everything fixed (should be Monday hopefully, seeing as UPS is slow as hell with shipping) I'll hopefully get back to working on music. Well after I finish my research paper for college....

College Textbooks Suck
Posted 15 years agoDoubt anyone will even take the time to read this...let alone post a comment... but anyways I found out yesterday I made the Deans list for my grades last semester ^^ Only problem is now I'm most likely going to fail this semester for lack of textbooks. Three weeks in and they still haven't released my financial aid and I don't have a job so I don't have any money to buy any of my books. Was lucky I had enough money to buy my lab supplies for Computer Hardware but Trig and Astronomy are gonna kill me if I can't get a book soon.
Guitar Center
Posted 15 years agoSo this is pretty much my first journal so hope it doesn't bore anyone.
Anyways I went to Guitar Center with my brother and my friend Fezz today to check out amps for my bro and synths for myself. Ended up getting stuck in traffic for two hours (normally would have taken about twenty minutes) thanks to an accident...plus it was raining. So when we got there checked out some really nice bass amps for my brother and talked to one of the guys about synthesizers for almost an hour. Found a really nice Moog analog synth for about 2.5k dollars and another digital synth for 600. Can't afford either of them unfortunately but damn do i want to get one. Also realized I probably should get a laptop since its kinda hard to take my tower anywhere to work on music.
