Well folks, My Father has known I'm gay for 24hours and I’m still at my parent’s home. I have now let my escape plans relax. As I just wait to get out of here.

After everything, I’m not home anymore.....this is just a house where my parents and possessions live. Home is where the heart is. Its going to take a long time before a heart beats here again. The only reason dad hasn’t done anything is because I haven’t asked him about it.....I've learnt my lesson from talking to my mother. In my previous journal I left out something...something I was shocked and ashamed of my mother. When I was trying to understand what her view was I suggested "Don’t ask don’t tell policy?" She agreed...it took so much control not to slap her in the face and leave home. Her agreeing to that means, she loves me as her son, not who I am. I can’t deal with that shit; it’s all up to her now.

I plan to leave soon, fly back to Darwin and get back to work and studying; it’s up to my parents to deal with it now. I've done what I came to do and its time to go home....where my other family lives. Workmates, work and a unit.....that is where I live and love,

Well as I said in an earlier journal about me finally "coming out" to my parents that I'm gay.

Well, my mother has known now for four days. When I told her I was driving the car so I didn’t have to look her in the eyes. But she didn’t say anything really, just "but you’re always my son and we love you" I thought to myself "damn, what was I afraid of?"

Well....I was right.

I noticed that mum wasn’t too happy and wasn't too cheerful. So I sat down and had a long talk to her for about an hour. I have never been so hurt by what she has to say. She didn’t ever think that I was gay so she was in shock, which is totally understandable. What has horrible is what she said to me.

"I wish you weren't gay, it would be easier for me" and "a few years from now you will look back and say "i can belive i did that""

Let me be the first to say...ouch. She’s all for me being who I am and loving me, so long as I’m not gay. She went on to say "when your father gets home you WILL tell him". Oh joy, she’s threatening me too...I currently have my bags pretty much packed and a friend on call in case I have to leave. I never thought I was 100% right about how my mother would react....now you can understand how terrified I am of how my father will react. I’m planning on cutting my "holiday" short, going to my mates in Perth, then flying back to Darwin where at least I can be who I am with out the disappointment from my parents.

I will let you know what happens soon....one way or another.

OK...I knew this day was coming, but here it is...

For those of you new to "watching" me this will not mean much to you, but to those who at least kind of know me....the day has finally come.

After coming back from WA to get head straight, I discovered that nothing had changed and I had just being hiding and running away from everything. So it only made me feel more down and crappy. The next week I had my counselling session and well...it was suggested that I should start taking anti depressants. I have already looked into it and I just don’t want to, not just yet. I know all the benefits etc....but there is another choice. Instead of covering up all the worry, I’m going to go away for a little while.

No, I’m not doing anything stupid; I have other options before that. So I’m flying back to Western Australia tomorrow, staying with my brothers for the night then going down with them to my family home and spending father’s day. After that...I’m going to tell my parents that I’m gay. I’m a little bit excited but mainly terrified. My brothers are ok with it, one is really supportive and the other is just meh.

But as the deadline gets closer I can’t help but feel more scared. Since I told my brothers I’ve been second guessing everything about who I am. But I think it’s just that I’m lonely and scared. Before my family knew it was still my secret, my alter ego so to speak.

I'm not really sure what I’m trying to say now...but...well there you go. Just letting you know the latest. Thank you everyone for your support and kind words, I’ll be back one day...

We can all appreciate the art, stories, music and more that get posted to the site, but what about the people, who give us feedback, praise or just their time? It's time to say thank you! And I don't mean generic "thanks for the watch" shout (hint: nobody really likes those), but an honest "Hey, thanks for taking the time!" kind of comment.

Commenter’s never get the thanks they deserve. So this Saturday, take some time. Thank one or two people who've commented on your work who make you feel good or just give you motivation. Yes, im back from my holiday. It was good, i needed it badly. Sadly it didnt really do much for me, i was just running away from my problems....just to clear my head though. Everything is still the same, im a mess and need alot of time to sort my life out.

Thanks to those furs who have been close to me and let me lean on thier shoulder. I know it doesnt happen often, its my pride....*rolls eyes*.

But dont you fear... Im going to still be here for all of you guys and do anything to help you out. I'll be fine, and sort myself out one way or another.

To all of those who have known me for a awhile this will explain a few things... for those of you who have only just met me this will tell you a bit more about me.

The reason...

I got a lot of shit happening right now and I'm not getting through it. I’m finally coming to terms with the fact that I’m gay, I’m not really proud of this, but I do know it is who I am now. I have been getting counselling from a few different groups and people and was finally started being happy about who I am. Everything was going well till my parents came to visit...

Sadly my parents aren’t open minded, and don’t know who I really am. I've tested the water with them a few times. I mentioned when I was going to MidFur last year that I would be sharing a room with another guy because there were no single rooms left. At the mention of sharing a bed she freaked out and had a panic attack over the phone. She kept saying things like “what if he gets playful?" and "what if he gets excited?". It hurts that I can’t rely on her but not as much as how my dad is. He visited me recently and saw a lesbian TV show host; he started yelling at the TV "bloody dyke" and "Disgusting Degenerate".

I've worked as hard as I can to cut all ties to them, just in case they find out and disown me. I'll be able to support myself. But you see what I mean?

They were at my place for three weeks and I had to pretend to be "normal" and ignore all the happiness and pride I had in myself....I got through it....but unfortunately two days later my boyfriend broke up with me over the phone. Saying that he "didn’t love me anymore" and that "it wouldn't work out anyway".

Even though all this shit was happening I had him to make me feel loved and useful....but no, I have nothing and it’s just hit my like a train. I've been a total mess and not sure what the hell to do anymore and just trying to find a reason to get out of bed in the morning. A number of people at work know I’m gay now and some of my friends...but I still feel alone.

This isn’t a journal for people to offer the love etc, I just wish to explain to people why I will be gone for awhile.

I hope your all doing well and keeping happy.
