Has anyone else run into this issue? My current card recently expired and I got a new one. But every time I try to add it and passing my Bank's ID check (email or Text message), the transaction (the 0.1 USD check) keeps failing to go through, and I cannot add the card.

Obviously alot of artists use Boosty and I help those who cannot pay through it, so if anyone knows why this is happening and a fix, that would be amazing.

Update: my CVV is being returned as invalid, despite entering it correctly. I'm waiting back from my bank for more details

Update #2: Following Hipolink's guide, a Paypal card does seem to be the working solution! But I will still look into finding out why my Bank won't let me make these transactions.

To think it's already been 5 years, man has time flied by... But I have no regretted any of it spent here. Which is honestly a real accomplishment. I've been apart of various other communities where I either get burned out or sick of some kind of drama that is plaguing them by this point. But not FA, not its members, despite its issues.

I truly love seeing my submission inbox fill up with new, fantastic artworks from all the talented people who use this site. The lines, the colors, the passion is overwelming, and brings me such joy to bare witness to.

And then there are those I have reached out to, to draw my wildest ideas (often many times a 1st), and my interactions with each of them have been nothing short of excellent, coming from all walks of life and different nations. You all are better at being people than the actual physical people who I see day-to-day. And I know atleast one other person who thinks the same... When you read this, you know who you are c:

And I want to draw attention for all those fantastic Ukrainian artists out there, Remember: their country is still fighting a genocidally war, fighting just to survive every day, many of which turn to FA to make a living, and now to survive. So watch them, commission them, support them however you can! All it takes is everyone giving a small effort to help, because the only way there "is no clear path to victory" to not even try.

Ok, I feel I need to say something because, yes, this awful, awful war is still going on and, it's gotten to the point that anyone who has a Russian nationality, solely on the basis of "what" they are, is now being treated as sub-human, by a majority of uninformed, hatred bandwagon riders.

Some of the nicest people I've met over the years of all Russian, and it really pains me that because of one madman's decision, they are not only subhuman to the Kremlin, but subhuman to the rest of the world. Why? What did they *do* to deserve this from us? Just trying to LIVE like us, and grow their personal lives everyday? If we're going to ask the near-impossible of them to stand up to the Kremlin, we need to actually help them.

And I know I'm going to get quite alot of "your acting pro-Russian" just because I value people NOT DYING. But every day I'm afraid of losing  HeroOptic, and the very recent "death warrant" draft the Kremlin has put into law (which you can get a summary of here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVN1HsKPJSI) has him very upset, not just for his own life but those of his friends who simply, do not have the means to escape Russia. Imagine waking up one day and your government is effective telling you that you are going to die for them; your life is now completely forfeit and a full team of Payday 2 Bulldozers bust down your door (all while you have no guns) and take you away. How in the world are you meant to fight that? I guess the easier awsner is to just stop acknowledging Russians, exist, I guess... Hence my point about viewing them as a lessor species.

So, how the fuck can we possibly view our selves as "the good guys" in this exchange when we take anyone with said nationality at face value like above, and instantly consider them evil, vile, war criminals regardless of who they are as a person? I only truly hope those of good intent managed to escape and surrender in Ukraine and not get shot for deserting...

You have to understand, the Kremlin has done a very, very good job of making every Russian feel alone, powerless, and using sugary wording that ultimately means slavery. And we should be giving them all who wants the change to come, the courage needed to stand up as one. And if not fight back directly, then indirectly!


I personally view myself as being "pro-freedom", or more specifically: "Russia without the Putin Regime", White-Blue-White,  parliamentaryrusfurrs and so on. Because while I want Ukraine to win... That victory will be a hallow victory if the Kremlin is not put in the dirt. There will simply be further conquests later down the line. Imagine Imperial Japan for example, if they weren't occupied and corrected after the war. (Germany is more complicated, but you get the idea)

There are people (without saying names) even in our community who actively witch hunt people who use Boosty, people who need it to just *survive*, on the basis of aiding their government. (While in many countries we view art as a hobby that usually cannot pay the bills. In lower-income countries, it's very much a viable source of income; if you've ever wondered why FA has an abnormally high Russian-to-other nationality artist count, that's why)
Boosty taxes are practically PENNIES in comparison to big number Oil Exports, it's nothing at all! All Because a bandwagon demands its popular to hate people now or else you deserve hatred too?
This would make us no better than those who support the war and praise be the Z, when taken to the extremes... And it makes me sick... I hold those who are actually accountable for these atrocities, not those who "enabled it" just by "trying to live a normal life".

Vent over, sorry, but I needed to get it off my chest.

Please do continue to support your fellow good man, be it good anti-Kremlin Russians trying to flee, or Ukrainians in dire need of aid. We only get one life, and we should do our best to help each one last as long as possible! Let the soldiers of Ukraine do their part in ending this awful war and open a path to freeing the Russian people.

As someone who had to have such an operation done to save one of their teeth (and how painful it was until an operation was done to fix them), I urge anyone reading this to atleast look at their gallery and see if that style is something you'd like to have. Do be aware that they are Ukrainian (even more reason to help them!) and due to recent attacks against Ukraine's power grid, they are not able to finish any commissions within reasonable deadlines, so have patience.

Words cannot describe alone how the furry community has shaped me into a better person these last 3(and a half) years I've been here on FA: all the people I've met and all the great, diverse, fantastic creative works I've commissioned over the years.
This community is full of so many understanding, compassionate, and talented people. Many of which were tossed aside by their own communities at home and found a new home here. I truly do believe that the furry community is the best community of people out there (or atleast the best I've ever been in). Sure it's not perfect (nothing is), but in comparison, it's the closest to heaven I've gotten in regards to an idyllian homestead for people like me.

Not everyone I've met is an artist, I've grown accustomed to the vore scene and the many other enjoyers of it, and you all seem like nice dudes. Glad to be an addition if you've welcomed me!

I want to give a huge thanks and hug-level appreciation to all the fantastic artists I've met (and more!) who have brought my characters (and wildest fantastic and kinky ideas) to life, turning a blank white canvas, into a rough sketch, into a detailed sketch, adding colors, shadows, and then details. And from it comes more than an image that I'd love to hang on my walls and should be in art museums <3. I thought I'd never know true love, never understand how it feels, but now... It has made me a happier person, that's for sure.

 varness-crowe is an artist I've known for a while now after another friend of mine found one of their 1st YCHs they published on FA. They're a very nice person which I've generally considered a great artist in the making. (even thou they feel they hadn't quite figured out their art style yet)

And now, they need your help; since the war began they've been through: fighting in the streets, lack of food, water, occupation, no internet, and her closest friends feared the worst...
I did end up hearing back from her again, she is safe and while her house is still in one piece she cannot stay there and has since fled to Russia. BUT! She had family she could go to that's deep inside the country and far away from the warzone, so she's safe from harm now.
I've already done my part to tell her about how different Russia is and to make sure she isn't breaking a totalitarian law because she didn't know about it.

She may have been one of more fortunate ones to get out of Mariupol but now she requires help again with money, if you could be so kind to look at her YCH and gallery and maybe consider a commission, she'd love that.
From my personal experience she's a really kind and skilled artist and very much worth your time and money, I highly recommend her work, as she's who replaced my previous favorite artist Ghuran for me after that artist left...

I need to clear my head of thoughts and breaking some silence, bare with me please:

So, this full-scale invasion of Ukraine has been going on for 3 months now. Since then I've been trying to get informed as much as possible about both sides and what caused all this from the beginning, how we came down this road, and how it might end.
The conclusion I came to is... Not a straight forward one, but what's happening now should never have been allowed to happen.

I've slowly seen people around me turning their back on the war, acting like "the show's over, time to move on" and dropping support. And people are fighting are starting to get war fatigued. This really bothers me.
I've had this war on my mind ever since it started, even in my dreams, each day is a question of "is Anarog going to be grabbed and thrown into the army today?", or maybe his friends, maybe any Russian artists I know. Or Maybe Ukrainian artists will be shelled or hit with a missile...

It's, awful what's going on, and I can feel like, I feel their pain, if I think about this very hard I start to cry...
I feel bad I was so... so blind about all this in the past, I had no idea what was going on, I didn't take Anarog seriously when he warned me and I'm really sorry... But I won't be blind now, not again, not if I can help it!

I guess one of the reasons I reached out online and have such an interest in people of other nations is I'm just, disappointed with what the average person here is like.
I never was a fit in, and always rejected growing up, I was always trying to find people who could understand me and the only person I found who can touch my soul is Russian... I may have been born in America, but I do not feel American at all.

Americans don't seem to care about something unless it affects them, with this war all they see is a unnecessary increase to cost of living, of increasing gas prices because America "once again got involved in something they shouldn't have", like Vietnam, like Iraq...
I think differently, I don't think Americans realize why this war is so important, why the USA is so involved and spending so much American taxpayer money to help Ukraine. This goes beyond Ukraine, it's far larger than that.
Americans... just don't value their freedom for what it really is, they seem to have forgotten why Democracy is a good thing and the good it brings.
They simply don't know what its like to have their homes bombed, shelled, invaded, families torn apart at the roots. They don't know what it's like to be thrown in jail for years just for speaking their mind, they take their rights for granted, they take basic human rights for granted. What we thought of US scandal like Watergate is a mere puddle compared to how deep the ocean of the Kremlin's corruption goes. When we lost our minds over a cop shooting a black guy, "military" grade police just gun down civilian protesters in Russia...

It's not just Ukraine at risk here, it's our entire way of life, the values we live by simply do not exist in Russia under Putin's regime, and he will see to it that *everyone* is subjected to the same fate.
This, is for more important than previous conflicts the US has been involved in or backed, this is a straight-up war against freedom itself. And with our "until it effects me" mentality, it'll be too late by the time it does...
I'm glad atleast that Biden and Congress understand the threats being posed and are taking action.
I know someone could just say "but they won't invade us, we have nukes", my point is: this shouldn't be happening, period, International Law was founded for THIS purpose and as it currently stands, it's not working. Putin shouldn't be allowed to go around and invade other nations, kill thousands of innocent civilians, and all he gets is "time out" Sanctions for doing it. If we truly valued these freedoms we say we'd "die defending our nation for", I don't see why other countries that want our level of freedom are allowed to be invaded by Russia and "that's ok" by an American's opinion.



I'm writing this journal to help clear my mind, and simply to say: I'm here to stay, and offer help where I can to good people who need it.

I don't know any Ukrainians personally, but I know we're all people, with minds, hearts, and feelings trying to get by and do things in life, and if I don't want to see a bomb shell fly into my apartment building, I'm going to show that I don't want to see it happen to them either.

And for the Russians I know (but again, not personally, only over the internet), this isn't your fault, you were raised from the moment you were born to never question your government and told there's nothing you can do to change it, change anything. You were (attempted into) brainwashed into thinking that the fall of the Kremlin would mean the end of all Russians, that the world would never accept you for who you are. Your fate was decided for you, that isn't your fault.
But that doesn't mean change can't happen. What you can do now, knowing the truth, can. And I hope you all will make the right choices, I want to see your people free, for future generations to decide their own future without persecution from your government. And I am hoping all the way that Putin's own greed and selfishness will lead to his downfall. And something better can take the Kremlin's place.

I don't have much to give, but I don't want to turn my back on those I considered Family either. I only hope others will keep up their support too.

So now that it's been proven that Boosty is a Russian sponsored site, and because it's Russian owned it can't be easily blocked by Sanctions, but what does that mean for commissioners?
Well for starters, there's a 10% fee (this was 7% at the beginning of February), which would be going into the Kremlin's pockets, but there's also a further small fee depending on the payment method.
Furthermore, much like Patreon, is a subscription service, so it will be taxed as well. And just like anywhere, tax evasion is a serious crime, so be aware of this.
(in my own opinion, not fact): It would seem likely this percent will continue to rise as Russia's economy worsens.

It would seem that sanctions have been evaded, but at a cost.
So, what options do you have?

I'm going to be clear right off the bat: in no shape or form do I EVER discourage paying artists. Remember that they're people, like you, and almost every single one of them are against not just Putin's war, but his rule in general. They're only using this service because they're not being left a choice by the rest of the world. Remember that for many of them, It's their Job, and without it they can't pay for necessities like food, water, and even a home.

I would suggest that, artists AND clients, work together to find a way to give them money without using Boosty if possible. I know of one artist who is using a Kazakhstan middle man as SWIFT still works between that country and Russia (I'm not sure I'm allowed to disclose who these are); more options like this if possible.
Or, if it can be explained that if the artist is in a very critical situation, then perhaps you can send him some money through Boosty, but only so that they have money for basic food and water.

Boosty needs to be a last resort, almost no one even knew about it before the war broke out, and everyone is only using it because they aren't being left any other visible options.
As I have said in previous posts, I consider all the Russian artists I've met to be Family to me (more than my own), I love them as a people. They're a kind, passionate, people who deserve far more than their country has given them. And right now, they need all the help we can give them.

Once again, I want to be clear: I am NOT saying to stop supporting Russian artists because a percent goes to the Kremlin, I am posting this asking people to cooperate with Russian artists for looking for other ways to pay them before choosing Boosty, and only choose Boosty if there are absolutely no other options!

If there's anything that I'm wrong about that can be proven, or any information that can provided that can help artists, any comments are welcome.

I know people don't like hearing bad news, but I have speak my mind on this too.



Most likely do not (or wouldn't have guessed by my username at 1st glance), but I am infact American, and this is the 1st time in a long time I've cared to keep up with world news.
Because as far as I see it, this isn't about me, but about the only people I've loved in my life being threated by this conflict.
Calling his attack against Ukraine a war would wouldn't be very fair, it was more like a modern-day blitzkrieg used against a country that clear would be outmatched.
I do not know many Ukrainians in my lifetime, but I have met some, and they have always seemed like a nice people to me; they don't deserve this, and I hope this conflict will end very soon!

But there's something else on my mind: the Sanctions against Russia.
In my time on this platform, I've come to know so, so many wonderful Russian artists and people. (especially  HeroOptic <3), I've come to know their hardships, and they've all been suffering these hardships for years under their president.
I'm afraid the price of his actions won't hit him where it hurts, but hit those who were alright in pain will also pay his price; all of you who wants no part of this, who just wanted a good life.
But now, the world is going to blame you all for the his actions, the Russian people will go down in history even further as being a bad people who deserve less... This isn't fair.
While this war doesn't effect me as an American directly, it affects those I love and have feelings for; and it has left me feeling destressed.

I don't know what else to write; I'm fearful for their future, for the future of the world infact if this doesn't deescalate. And all I can do is pray (as far as an Agonistic person can) for a positive outcome...

Oh Snap, I missed the deadline!

So it is now the 2 year anniversary... Anyways... how to reflect on all this...

It should be no surprise that I feel 2020 was a shit year, rough one at that with COVID, flash dying, alot of stuff ending... When the only truly good things I can reflect on are mentioned below (par Firstly)
Eitherway, the 2nd anniversary marks in 2021; hopefully things will improve and get interesting by the time of the 3rd anniversary!

I guess I'll start with the things that did change:
-Firstly, a lost a close friend. No, family. Who I always referred to as Val. Reasons are complicated and I'd rather not go into, only that it slowly withered away over more than a year and finally ended right before 2021. But thankfully this is only the real downfall from that.
-Secondly, I highly doubt anyone knows this, but I am the founder lead (and by lead I mean pretty much the only active guy) of the Terraria mod: SGAmod, where I tried to break the usual expectations by learning all kinds of different C# and doing unique ideas instead of getting good sprites! While I had released it about a month before the 1st anniversary, it was far too unknown or small to even mention, but I figured its worth mentioning now... God have things changed, I never thought I'd learn as much as I did in pretty much 1 year, I remember asking myself "where do I see myself with this by next year" back when I understood nothing of C#, still, there's alot I hadn't used yet and alot more to learn!
-Third: I've met several more nice artists and people thanks to this site, including a few friends, and got more wonderful commissions with a wonderful time :3 So much more character than just business. I specially want to give my thanks to for their work, their kindness, and being a great person. Even with their freedom pretty much destroyed. I hope they are able find time again to do what they want!
-Fourth: Even more than double the people decided check out my page and Stalk my every action I mean follow me! I know it isn't a popularity contest but I do appreciate all you people who like what I post, Thank you!
Speaking of which, I'll be uploading more commissions of late due to the fact that I hadn't updated anything since the start of the year, very sorry about that!
