I just want to let let everyone know that I will no longer be active on FA. FA’s policies do not align with mine so I no longer wish to support this site by being active on it. I know its been a while and im doing my best to stay active. So I just wanted to tell you all that I redid my Patreon. I really dislike the idea of a paywall to see art (even if its just nsfw) and paying for content that is not regular or monthly. So I made my patreon as a "support" patreon basically.
Free content like F2U bases, backgrounds, etc will be on my patreon and Im uploading 2 recently free content I made for everyone. Paid content (such as future bases, etc) will be on Gumroad for now on.
I know its a bit odd since there are things like ko-fi and I have very little patreons but it means the word to me that there are wonderful people out there that wish to support me and my work while i create art and stories while I try to finish graduate school, work, and take care of my bunny.
If anyone is interested to just checking out my patreon you are free too! Free content is free to everyone and public, not just patrons

Just to start off, I got chosen to be part of the DEEPEND research crew for their August R/V Sar. cruise to do some research in the gulf. While this is all very exciting, boarding alone for 2 weeks for my sweet bunny is $150 and I'm not sure of what other expenses I would need to cover to make sure I am all set and ready.
I will be opening commissions just to make sure I can put my bunny in boarding so he is taken cared of while I'm gone and anything I might need before I'm literally at sea for 2 weeks. I will be gone from August 2nd to August 16th. My turn around time has been very quick. Usually 1-2 days for small pieces and about 2-7 days for larger, detailed illustrations.

Hey guys. So for the past week now I've been noticing my bunbun, fiver, has been sneezing only when he drinks his water on occasion. It wasn't until i was brushing him two night ago where I found his nose all wet and put the pieces together to why he hasn't been super playful. He's only 10 months old so he should be a very playful and has been a playful bunny. I took him to the vet yesterday morning and found he has the snuffles :c

As always I only take 3 commissions at a time to not overload myself but I will be working during the weekends, which is usually a personal time for me, to work on commissions so I can help pay the vet bill.

So...
i'm opening commissions. Not for the best reasons. Actually...for the worst thing to happen, but I will explain after I put down my commission info. Commissions will only be taken 3 slots at a time. When 3 slots are finished, I will open then again; so on and so forth.
From now to this weekend, I will be releasing a fullbody scarfox YCH. They will be limited slots as well.

If you really want to know what happened please be prepared for a half vent/rant.
My lab job is losing its funding. While I will still be working on my thesis, I cant work for the lab as well. My paycheck and tuition waiver will be disappearing by the end of September. During that time and before I can move out in November, I won't be able to afford therapy or even basic things.
The divorce between my parents is becoming worse and we are finding out many things about my dad. He is literally holding us financial hostage. I know nothing about finances and are currently financially abused by him. I didn't even know that existed until my therapist had to sit me down after talking with my mother about the situation. Also he might be going to jail. Possibly. Either way, there is a possiblity that he can take everything away from me, my mom and my sister, and my literal life and career hang in that balance.
If I can't find a job by the end of September, my mom is going to force me to move back to NY with her to write my thesis after I collect all of my data. I will not be able to see friends or my therapist. I will be isolated; which is honestly the worse thing that can happen to me. Also if I move to NY idk whats going to happen to my sweet fiver because I know the family dog will hurt him because he's so big and that concerns me.
When i got the news i literally broke down. I don't know what to do and I'm so worried and just utterly defeated. I don't want to resort to selling any more characters. Every character I had to sell has been extremely painful. I'm literally locked into a apartment I can barely afford until November. If I can't get a job I will be forced to stay in this apartment until I can move home. Being in the this apartment and losing my lab job i will barely have money for life necessities. Just enough to survive and to slowly continue the Selkica's Website
The Selkica staff and myself do hope to open the patreon for Selkicas soon to help fund the website that is currently in development with neat tiers such as sneak peeks for the website, early access for adopts, as well as early access/beta for the selkica website before members before the time comes.
I know this is lot. It is a lot for me too. I don't like accepting donations. I am too prideful and too embarrassed...

Since dA is such a large and somewhat stressful platform, I want to provide an alternative for others that really wish to commission me and for me to get to know my watchers and really connect. I feel like dA or FA isn't a platform really suited to connect with others. So because of this I have made a discord server in which those who just want to chat and connect with myself and other, as well as share art and just have fun.
Also for anyone who joins this server, they be able to get commissions before I post the info on any other social media (dA, FA, instagram, twitter, etc). So if you like my art enough to want a commission or a returning customer, this would be the best place to get a commission from me as well as a quick response. I will still be using google doc forms to pick commissions, but you will be able to fill out forms or get to know about my commission openings at least 24-48 hours before any of my social media

Posted 8 years agoSo I tried to juggle commissions with my upcoming thesis work and school is really not having it. I tried working on a commissions only to do pretty bad on my last organic chemistry quiz. This is super important. If I get a D or lower I will not be able to graduate. I need to graduate and get out of here, especially since school is affecting my head and worsen my stress levels. There are times where I don't sleep, I don't eat, and drive myself crazy in the process.
So I apologize but I will be on Hiatus till the day after my last final, which is May 10, 2016
I know it doesn't seem that far, but I barely have time for myself, let alone my thesis. I still need to finish my nitrate and nitrite water analysis in order to completely finish everything. So for all of you that don't know my schedule I will type it below. I have some finals missing cause dates are still tentative, but yeah...:
