Keeping up with the cool kids
Posted 6 years agoAfter playing around with Discord for a while, I've decided to set up my own server. I'm hoping I set it up so everybody has an area to talk about their interests, whatever they may be. Give it a look! https://discord.gg/txjXbj
Whelp, I guess I don't have to feel guilty anymore.
Posted 9 years agoI mean, I really was a bit put off at myself that a large percentage of my Inbox was adult oriented art, but now that FurAffinity is an official porn site, complete with "Meet Local Singles and Cheating Spouses in Your Area" banners, I'm golden!
Good to know that IMVU really does know just what the Furry community wants!

Finally set up a Weasyl
Posted 9 years agoAnd the plan is, over the next several days, follow artists there and unFollow them here, so if I disappear from your Watch List and you actually care, it's probably because I either found your Weasyl, or already follow you on IB or SoFurry :)
Maybe a difference?
Posted 9 years agoI'm still not a fan of the new UI Beta, and still think it would have had the same effect to just tell everybody to lower their resolution to 800x600 before visiting, but does the site seem faster, and I mean a LOT faster, and even a bit more stable to anyone else?
So, went ahead and emptied my gallery
Posted 9 years agoI don't know if the reference I saw in the discussion about the sale of FA to IMVU including full commercial rights to all the art uploaded was legit or not, but out of respect to the artists I've commissioned, I decided to remove all of the artwork they have done for me.
I'm not saying I'm leaving the site, but honestly, I've only been a lurker since Inkbunny came along anyway, so I'll just be a lurker without a gallery from now on.
Unless I start seeing popups, popunders, and have to click through ad pages to access the site and my notifications, and/or start seeing my name on "People you might meet" ads for sites I don't visit, then I likely will cancel my membership completely.
Anyway, yeah. Let's hope any change is for the better!

Anybody looking for a dog?
Posted 10 years agoI have two wonderful, healthy and energetic 6 month olds that need homes and people of their own. Onyx, male, very black with brindle highlights, and Bernice, white with black spots.
They're the last two of my collie mutt Windy's first litter, and I'd love to keep them, but I don't have the time to give them that they deserve, or the money to care for them properly.
I'm in southwestern PA, and will gladly take them up to half, or even a full, day's drive. If you're interested, PM me, and I'll see about getting some decent pics up on Dropbox.

So Who Here Has Switched From iPhone to Android?
Posted 10 years agoI've gotten a few reports that say it's a worthwhile thing to do, but I've checked out the Samsung options at the AT&T store and I'm just not impressed. I mean, at all!
I've also checked out a few others, and the only one that catches my interest is the HTC One. It seems to be about as fluid and responsive as the iPhone and has one of the things I really wish the iPhone had; expandable storage. It doesn't look like the battery is any more accessible, though, and I won't believe any statement about battery life unless it's real world experience.
I dunno, guess I've just owned an iPhone a little too long, and I'm still a little unsure about whether or not I actually like iOS, so have been considering a bit of a change. If you have any thoughts, please give them!

By the way, posting photographs...
Posted 10 years ago...to my DeviantArt gallery that I've had for ages and done nothing with.
http://esanhusky.deviantart.com/
It's sporadic and random at best, but I figure it's better to use what's accepted as a primarily photographic site for a photo dump instead of filling up Furaffinity with unrelated stuff

Huh...emo outburst lasted almost three whole days
Posted 10 years agoI must be getting better at this!
Gonna drop out of sight for a while...
Posted 11 years ago...and yes, it is because of the stupid pitchfork and torch mobs that decided to form over an incident that began and should have ended three years ago.
My personal feelings over any situation like this doesn't even allow me to find humor in the whole thing, so it's just aggravating and annoying, and since I don't come here or anywhere else to be aggravating and annoyed, I'm just going to stop coming for a week or two or three and hope it all blows over.
If you have my Skype or Steam, and wish to talk about anything besides this nonsense, you're more than welcome to contact me, otherwise, no, I don't want to be vindicated or converted, I just want to be left alone and let to believe that I will come back to a site that's about art instead of drama.
Feel free to comment if you come across this journal and feel the need to, but please don't be insulted if you never get a response, I'll probably just do a bulk delete in a week or two when I peek in to see if it's safe.

I think it's my favorite when...
Posted 11 years ago...the manual calls for a bolt to be tightened to "12-15 Lbs-ft" (basically an exact measurement for "hand tight" for the mechanically disadvantaged) and I have to use something approaching excessive force with my long ratchet to loosen it :\

Posted 12 years agoSo, after fifteen years of delivering pizza, I get robbed a second time in the same Summer.
The biggest suck factor about this one is that the youngest one, the one holding the gun, couldn't have been more than twelve, possibly as young as nine. The good thing is that we caught them and recovered the money. I have to attend a Juvenile Detention Trial tomorrow and a Case Trial sometime next week, then there will be adult trials sometime down the road.
The fantasy here is that the oldest will throw himself under the bus to try to get leniency for the youngest, but the way they were looking when the officer drove me past to identify them, that probably won't be the case :\

Why doesn't anybody ever talk about the important stuff?
Posted 12 years agoLike how Obamacare says that insurance companies have to spend at least 85% of their collected premiums on actual medical expenses and not overhead and bonuses?

So, now I know what it feels like to be...
Posted 12 years ago...on the business end of a gun.
I wanted, at first, to feel like an idiot, but it wasn't really anything different. I've delivered to the address several times over the past fifteen years, always to the back door, and it wasn't unusual for them to not answer the phone when you called, they often times just watched for the driver to pull up.
This time, I walked up the steps and ended up looking at a gun. It was almost like a movie, a non-descript kid telling me to put everything down, including my phone, and walk away and his buddy standing off to the side looking way too nervous with a stocking cap pulled halfway down over his eyes.
Eh...I don't know, I've been delivering pizza for over fifteen years and this is the first time something like this happened. Really, what bothers me most is that I've driven right back out of places that I just had bad feelings about, but for the first time ever, noting at all felt wrong about driving down a driveway in a dark back alley. I mean, I've delivered to that address two nights in a row and both nights, thought about telling them to meet me in front, but walked up the steps anyway, this time, it was just another delivery.

Free DAZ 3D software? Yes, it's true!
Posted 12 years agoCopy/Paste of an email I just got
Posted 13 years agoMichael,
Yes, we know -- another email. But this news is urgent UNBELIEVABLE:
One day after history's largest online protest, the U.S. Government nonchalantly responds with the middle finger. The Wall Street Journal reports:
The FBI shut down Thursday one of the world's most popular file-sharing websites, MegaUpload.com, and announced the arrest of four of the people behind it in a global crackdown against the suspected online pirates.
Please click here to tell your lawmakers to cut it out: No SOPA, no PIPA, no more website seizures.
Here -- check it out: If SOPA and PIPA pass it'll just broaden the government's power to do things like this: MegaUpload.com. (And make it illegal for us to link to sites that are seized -- like we just did in the last sentence.)
As MegaUpload's website notes -- er... noted:
The fact is that the vast majority of mega's Internet traffic is legitimate, and we are here to stay. If the content industry would like to take advantage of our popularity, we are happy to enter into a dialogue.
This is what we're up against. Please tell President Obama and your lawmakers to put an end to it. NOW.
Thanks,
Demand Progress
