Thoughts on sketch comics?
Posted 3 years agoBeen a while since I made one of these, ey?
Anyone who’s seen my more recent artwork will probably notice that I’ve been putting up sketches more often then finished pieces.
With the demands of college, I’ve sort of transitioned to making quicker sketch arts, which I can get done faster without becoming bogged down. So much so, it’s been ages since I opened for commissions last.
That said, it’s crossing my mind about the potential for sketch comics. Since sketches take less time, and are still very much enjoyable, I’m curious to see how appealing the idea is for longer comics and sequences based through sketches.
The idea here being, it’ll be more affordable to have longer sequences with more characters involved if the drawing can remain as simple lines. I’m thinking to try a hybrid, where key moments are in color, but the majority of the piece remains as sketches. It could open potential for more elaborate ideas to come to fruition!
What do you guys think? Hybrid sketch comics for more possibilities? Yay or nay?

Upcoming $15 sketch stream this weekend! (Oct 30-31)
Posted 3 years agoHeya! Just dropping by to put a reminder that I am gonna be doing another sketch stream this weekend! Keep an eye out for the announcements around 10-12 am-pm EST, where I’ll be streaming on picarto!
For those wishing to request a piece during the stream, ensure you are able to provide adequate reference material for me to use, as it greatly aids the process
I would also like to kindly ask that long sequence sketches above 2 pieces be avoided, as those may hold up the que for others, especially if they’re particularly complex.
If you would like to run an idea by me ahead of time to check it’s feasibility with me, feel free to note me here on FA
I look forwards to sketching!

Sketch stream results
Posted 3 years agoThe results were a total success!
Had loads of fun doodling all the ideas I recieved. Got to do a bunch of nice, silly, and nommish pieces, which I’ll be posting shortly.
I’ve also gotten the amount of money I needed for my tuition, with plenty to spare! Can’t thank you guys enough, this helps me out greatly!
There’s a fair number of you who I know were waiting for a chance to get a sketch, so I believe I’ll try to do another stream, either tomorrow or next weekend, to give the best chances for some more fun art.
Cheers, and until next time! Y’all are the best!

Upcoming $15 sketch stream!
Posted 3 years agoAAAAAALRIGHTY
It’s been a minute since I have made an public updates, so I’m gonna be making a brief run down.
As some may know, I’m in my final year of college, finishing up the 3D animation program I’ve been taking. I’ve come quite a way, and I am now preparing to break into the industry and find some work. I have also gotten my driving license, along with the old family car!
Subsequently, such strides into adulthood come with considerable costs, and one of those costs are Tuition. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but since I’m driving, Im now subject to cad insurance, and atm I’m hesitant to use my main funds when I have the first monthly payment looming.
As such, I’ve decided to raise them through providing sketches! This upcoming weekend, and subsequent week, I’ll be taking around 10-11 sketch comms, with a flat price of $15 USD (tips are welcome), during my stream on Picarto
The way the requesting will work, will be to have the details of the sketch you want whispered to me directly in the stream chat, and I’ll respond with my PayPal link for payment.
$15 USD is the MINIMUM requirement, and no less. You are welcome to send more if you desire to tip. Sequences can be requested, however each part will be treated as it’s own piece, and subsequently will cost an ADDITIONAL $15. I will possibly be limiting how many parts each person may get, incase it begins to hold up the people waiting.
The details you provide must have the relevant information id need to draw it. If there are specific characters and poses, provide images I could reference via links. Descriptions are only useful for environments, angles or poses. I will not draw an OC that I cannot see. Do understand that I will not be doing every request I receive, in cases where they seem too complicated or unacceptable for me to draw
For those who do get accepted, here’s a set of examples of what to anticipate from the sketches:

Commission plans for the future
Posted 3 years agoFigured I’d throw this out there to see what the general sentiment may be
After a few videos and several voice chats with some very good friends of mine, I believe I’ve been in a persistent state of on-off burn outs with my art.
I’ve consistently found myself procrastinating on commissions owed, while taking on more work simultaneously. I wind up doing quick silly doodles as a way to cope, which are fun and produce some creative results, but ultimately wind up in commissions being side lined.
That all said, I believe i must take measures to prevent any more prolonged waiting for new commissioners and current one.
I am gonna be closing my commissions indefinitely until further notice, and I will have to cut down on the amount and the ambitiousness of the comms.
Make no mistake, I fully intend to take on more work! You guys are truely remarkable, seeking out if I am open to take on ideas. I understand that this may come off as a slap in the face, but art is very much a difficult thing for me to manage (a look into my previous journals is prime evidence ^^;), so I must beat some self control into myself to find a foothold where I can relieve myself of the troubles I create.
With a job and college over my head, along with learning to drive, and prepping a portfolio for a job within the 3D and/or game industry, adulthood is hitting me with everything it’s got. I gotta get myself into shape to face it. I sincerely hope you all can understand my position and thoughts, and thank you for doing so.
You are all appreciated

Apologies for waiting commissions
Posted 3 years agoI just wanna say I’m terribly sorry to those who are currently waiting on me to finish their commissions.
There’s about 4-5 of you left that I owe work to, and so far it’s been seeing slow progress.
Reason being primarily my current fixation on completing my Alex model for maya, which I’m currently rigging for the semester past few days at the time of this post. It’s been rather fun for me to learn the whole process, though obviously time consuming, especially knowing that up until this point I have had to retry about 5 times due to some issues I encountered.
I want to say that your extensive patience with me over this time is truest, truely appreciated, I will make sure that your owed is delivered. My current plan is to steam roll with the rigging over the next few days until it is complete, and once that’s been achieved I will divert my attention to steam rolling the remaining commission. As for the amount of time this will take, I cannot precisely say, as the best estimate I can provide is a week or two. However, the current attempt I’m on is making much more progress then any of the prior attempts, so it shouldn’t take too terribly long.
Again, terribly sorry for the long wait, and any inconvenience, disappointment or anxiety it could of possibly caused. I know there are many asking me if I able to take on commissions/trades and so on, as well questions for when I’ll host the $15 sketch stream I mentioned in my last journal, and I will assure you, I’ll do my best to satisfy everyone in due time
Thank you for your read, and thank you for understanding

Thoughts on $15 sketch stream?
Posted 3 years agoHeya folks, your friendly neighborhood tyrannosaur here.
As some of you may have seen, I’ve been expanding into the realms of 3D animation and art, which I’ve been enjoying myself rather well with. I’ve even gotten my own model complete and is ready to be rigged (once I learn how to do that)
However, one hurdle I will have to overcome is funding for assets and tools that I will need, such as buying a redshift license to enable faster rendering, as well as environment models to build up a scene.
As such, I’ve tossed about the idea of possibly doing sketch streams on Picarto. The premise is straight forward, though I’ll be working out the technicalities as I go. During the streams, I’ll take ideas from those who are present to draw on stream, in exchange for a base $15 USD price, with tips being accepted in exchange for more influence in the piece. Ideas should be thought out in advance, and will be at max 2-3 characters, unless I make exceptions for any ideas I desire or receive tips for
I’m thinking to open a discord server that will be used specifically for these streams, as to make it easier to exchange the necessary details between those who request sketches, though I’m open to any better ideas as to how to handle it.
The information in question will of course be the FA name of the requestee, refs of the desired characters, and a simple run down of the idea. As stated above, the max amount of characters should be focused at around 2-3 characters, with a few exceptions I’d make on the spot.
Do tell what your thoughts are on this, or if you have any suggestions towards how I could manage this whole fiasco I’ve been thinking about ^^;

Apologies for loooooong waiting
Posted 3 years agoFigure this is important and well overdue of a notice to those who have currently purchased commissions from me and are still waiting on their completion
College has been keeping me occupied, alongside a part time job, for most of that time. Especially in these last few weeks as the semester nears its end for me. That has lead to me not actively working on the commissions, either playing games or making non-commissioned art as a means to wind down
I aim to ensure that once my semester ends, I will do the best I can to push out these commissions at last to put my own mind and that of those I owe art to at ease
Thank you for reading

Apologies for commission progress
Posted 4 years agoI should’ve said it sooner, but alas better late then never.
These next four weeks or so are gonna be rough for me as im wrapping up the semester for the 3D animation program im taking. The whole online school aspect has caused me many difficulties and as such requires my priority attention
File upload failures, reworking hiccups for a game level assignment, modeling game assets, early steps into 3D post production vfx, all that nonsense to I have to deal with
For the many commissioners waiting, I will assure you that I WILL complete your owed art, just be patient and give me time. I can prove to terrible at managing life at times, so your understanding is greatly appreciated

Slow progress on art
Posted 4 years agoRecent events pertaining real life concerns, notably that being work and school, have resulted in a need for reprioritizing my activities to cater towards these needs
As a result, Im going to have put my commissions off for a few weeks or so until I straighten these concerns out and free up time
Once the opportunity arises, the commissions WILL be worked on, and hopefully delivered with a reasonable time frame.
Apologies for the inconvenience, and going forwards, thank you for your patience

Commissions filled out! Notice to future commissioners
Posted 4 years agoOhoho man, you guys have a great array of idea for artwork. The stuff i got in my notes definitely has me looking forwards to bringing them to fruition.
However, theres the unfortunate fact that not all ideas were able to be get accepted, for a variety of reasons. Notably, the main reason being that I had run out of slots! Having said that, I will be making a clear note to everyone who is either interested, or missed a chance
The commissioners who have been accepted in this cycle of commissions will not be allowed to commission for one cycle. This means you'll have to wait one commission cycle over before commissioning me again. This is in order to give others a chance to snag a comm, and prevent chain commissioning, which could potentially dominate the slots and leave others sitting in line for months, if not longer.
Like always, this can be subject to change, depending on the circumstances whenever the time comes around again. Any changes that do occur, will be announced as soon as possible, so do keep an eye out for whenever such cases arise.
Anywho, many thanks for everyones interest. It truely means alot knowing my work is loved. Heres to some more great art with y'all

- Have your idea ready with a decent description of what you would want. Reference images, and what level of polish you're looking for. Please refer to my commission prices tab to plan what you'll be getting. https://www.furaffinity.net/commiss.....s/disregard67/
- Be capable of making a paypal transaction. Alternative methods will not be accepted (example: Gift cards, steam games)
- I may deny your commission inquiry If i determine it would be too difficult to produce. As much as I would like to provide you with my work, I can choose whether I actually want to draw it for you or not (Note: Once a commission has been paid for, it WILL be finished under most circumstances. Otherwise, a refund will be issued should completion not be possible)
- Slots at the moment will be considered first come, first serve, and first accepted, given the terms above. Best of luck for this round of commissions. This may be subject to change in the next commission cycle
Slot 1: DJayFeesh
Slot 2: Glacius_Draconian
Slot 3: LuckyLombaX
Slot 4: Zaleera
Slot 5: Pyxaron
Accepted slots will be added to the progress trello:

All commissions complete! Important update!
Posted 4 years agoYEAAAAAAAAAAH
A bit late in the making of this journal, but an important nonetheless. For the first in over a year, I have emptied my commission que. I cant thank you all enough for your interest in getting art from me, its been a long time coming so far! So many great characters in so many great scenarios, of all shapes, sizes, and appetites~
Now that I have finished my seemingly unending que, I do intend on taking more commissions soon, especially with how many inquiries I have already recieved (you folks are amazing). However, I want to make a few changes towards how I approach them.
Instead of a que system where I would accept a commission and put them into a waiting line until I worked towards the art piece, I will be adopting a slot system for the time being. I believe something along the lines of 3-4 slots should be fair amount.
I understand how slot systems are not the most desirable of systems, as artist openings often are filled by whoever is able to snag the opportunity first, but I feel that its the best way for me to approach artwork without dragging myself through a slog of seemingly unending work; I enjoy doing art, but limiting the amount I can take in will help significantly improve my mental health and reduce stress.
At the moment these slots will be filled by select individuals for a bit of a closed test run, but once they're completed, I will more than certainly post an announcement the moment I am ready to take more!
To supplement the deployment of a slot system, I have created a trello board to help commissioners who have secured a slot to track the progress of their piece, with labels provided to show the status of the commission all the way from "waiting" to complete. Checklists are provided so you will be able to see what has been accomplished, and what needs to be done.

I have gone through my commissions tab here on FA and redid my pricings and their presentation, as previously I felt that they were rather messy and had the potential to confuse people. Hopefully this appears much better organised towards narrowing down a price for your desired art.

That being said, many thanks to all who have followed me up so far, and I certainly look forwards to providing more arts as we procede forwards. Cheers!

How do you folks feel about art streams?
Posted 5 years agoKinda been considering publicly doing live stream announcements here on my page. Been experimenting with it for some time now on small scale via linking my picarto on various discord servers, and so far I can say Im pretty comfortable with it. Haven't jumped straight to it though, as im unsure of whether others would find it worthwhile their interest
I do find it is quite handy for active input from commissioners on how their pieces are coming along, as well as interacting with my various watchers. I dont have any sort of announcement image yet, nor any fancy visual overlays like some others do, but that could be changed depending on the interest towards the idea
What do y'all think? Yey or nay?
Birthday kinda day, ey?
Posted 5 years agoAs of 12:00 AM eastern standard time, this doodling Tyrannosaurus has officially become an 18 year old. Quite a significant milestone if I do say so myself! It’s definitely been quite a journey so far up to this point in life, and there’s still quite a bit to go!
Hope you all have a great day as well, and thanks for the support and kindness too!

Update on Computer issues
Posted 5 years agoThe tech repair people over at Canada computers have confirmed suspicions that windows had failed to successfully reinstall during a reset and had corrupted itself.
All my files were on the desktop, which I had set to save to my HDD drive. Having done that prior, that means that damage was contained to the SSD, which was what windows was installed on.
My commissions, sound libraries and video projects should be safe and sound, including the snektember ych. A major sigh of relief on that note
Gonna be picking it up today and bringing it home. Crisis has been averted. And im sure as hell making multiple backups on my files. Aint letting THAT stressful headache happen again!
