Hey guys so as I've mentioned in the past I've needed to scrounge an extra $600 out of nowhere to cover some medical tests as part of my green card application. To that end I've been trying to make some extra cash with YCH (Your Character Here) pics, however, I've never really done them before so after trying to offer a 'starting bid' system where people compete, I figured it would be easier to have a simple base buy-in price.

Yeah, not even a year into living in America & it turns out I need to fork out a wad of cash for medical expenses, & I'm not even sick! So here's the long & short, my Greencard process is kinda slowed due to the fact that the Immigration service has lost my Medical information. All those tests, cups pee'd into & blood taken has been lost into the ether. Now I need to fork out just under $600 to get a fresh bunch of tests done here locally. So, I'm pushing real hard on the old Commission drum right now. Sure I have Ko-fi/patreon etc if you just want to donate something but I would be more than happy to earn the cash, so, if you like my work & would like something of your own, nsfw/sfw, group content or solo, whatever you like, any questions you have, feel free to ask. Hey gang, so, first of all, thank you & welcome to the recent influx of new followers, it honestly means the world how many people have taken an interest in my work recently. Second I wanted to give a big thanks to everyone who has been following the development of my webcomic Heirs to the Throne, a long-form murder mystery/black comedy where the main characters are actively trying to ignore the plot, & are only interested in their inheritance. I have been trying to get that project off the ground for over 10 years & have almost completed the first 2 chapters in the space of a year has been a wonderful feeling. Also having been able to move to America to get married to my longtime fan/best friend/love of my life  reaperking has been the icing on the cake, & our joint venture Lunar Blaze Studio's has been to 6 separate conventions since I got here, building a loyal following & our Redbubble store has been doing pretty damn well also. So yeah, 2017, all in all not that bad for us. So whats the plan for 2018?

Since my last journal where I was feeling a lil down about being stuck working on just the one thing for over a year & getting a bit stale, I have been producing a ton of new pinup illustrations, gifts for fellow artists that I admire & who have inspired me in the past, & it felt great to mix things up & do something different. I've enjoyed it so much that I'm planning on returning to doing NSFW art on a regular basis while keeping Heirs to the Throne going through the year. However, while both of these things won't really get in the way of me posting here, on my Patreon & other galleries that's a different story. The audience we have cultivated this past year for Lunar Blaze is awesome, supportive, but NSFW is not really something I'd want to throw at them. So I'm resurrecting my old personal Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/devillo for any and all adult content. Now, this isn't just going to be Furry art which you will find here, I'm also planning on some short Hentai comic runs with human characters, including an erotic horror project I've been thinking about for a while now. Also on the Lunar Blaze patreon https://www.patreon.com/lunarblazestudios you will be able to see all the behind the scenes work not just on Heirs to the Throne, but also The Illustrated Dracula, a project I'm planning on having completed for Halloween 2018. So in total, that's at least 3 large print projects, and a ton of standalone Illustration work that I have planned spread over the next 12 months. And this is all while I'm still unemployed, at the moment it's looking like my Greencard to work in a regular job isn't going to be a thing until March, so I'm trying to be as productive as possible before the inevitable drop off that 'real life' is going to throw.

Hey gang, hoping everyone had a great Turkey Day! Thanksgiving here in the states went well, still on Turkey Sandwiches for the next few days XD. My productivity on the comic has gone pretty well so far, I have a whole bunch of new pages an inch away from being uploaded, I just want to take a bit to go over everything with a fine tooth comb and get some extra polish in there.

Which leads me to my main question, hows everyone enjoying the comic? At the moment from my point of view, its all set-up and asking questions atop of questions with little resolution. Of course, that's the downside of it being a long-form story, the answers are going to take a while to show up, & since it's my first real comic project, I'm thinking I may have bitten off a bit too much as a first comic. Now to clarify, I fully intend on finishing this story, It took me 10 damn years to start it after all. The thing is, it's going to take YEARS to get out, (possibly 8 fricking chapters) even while I'm unemployed & have every waking moment able to work on it. Also, I know this is a bit of a weird thing to feel worried about, but at this moment there's no sex in it either. *GASP* OMG I KNOW RIGHT? A furry comic with no yiffing XD. Yeah... kinda shot myself in the foot there. While there are plenty of allusions to adult scenarios & there are CERTAINLY some characters who bump uglies with other characters (no spoilers as to who, sorry kids XD) nothing graphic is planned on being shown right now. So, I'm curious as to what people would like to see in the comic. While I cant change the plot too much I'm just curious what your impressions are so far.

Another thing that's been playing on my mind is how I haven't really made any kind of non-comic art in over a year, at least anything that isn't heirs related. While I do post my video game fanart over on my Deviant Art account (also devillo http://devillo.deviantart.com/ ), all my Furry Content has been based on the comic. So I've had the itch for a while to stretch out a bit more & get some good old fashioned iffy yiffy smut back in here, if only for the variety XD. So yeah, thats kinda where things are atm, hard at work but a little worried Im giving too much of the same, if that makes sense. Anyways, heres to December, my first Xmas in America & to some new and interesting content! Hey gang, yes I am alive! Holy crap what a few months its been though. While September was a crazy nightmare with 3 multiple day conventions all but back to back, we decided to take the entirety of October off to recharge our batteries. During that time I have been working on a few non-fur projects, catching up with some client commissions, & in an unexpected turn of events I ended up brainstorming & outlining yet another major project which I am sooo not ready to talk about now, but I did briefly mention it on my Patreon as I felt guilty for almost a month of no content there. The good news is that the green card process is now paid off, my passport is fully renewed & aside from an interview or two my immigration status in America should be solid, so now I guess the only thing that's going to stop me from working is actually getting a regular paying job to stop my wife from having to support the both of us.

So aside from the real-life stuff here's a loose plan of whats coming up for the next 12 months.
-I'm going to be working my ASS off on getting Chapter 2 of Heirs finished, & possibly a good chunk of 3 done as well.
-Depending on its growth in audience, potential job income & commissions, I may shelve the comic after 12 months to focus on smaller projects. Heirs is going to be a pretty long book that's going to take YEARS to finish, & having it as my first major stab at self-publishing wasn't the smartest of moves XD.
-If I'm able to find a good work/balance routine or collaborators who can take some of the strain off my shoulders I will return to working on Heirs fulltime, but until then any updates will be sporadic.
-During 2017/2018 while Heirs is still in production I am also working on the Illustrated Dracula. This is a set of full-color collection of Illustrations that will be self-published based on the classic Vampire story. Its release date is October 2018.
-After October 2018 & Heirs' potential hiatus, I will begin sharing the development & promotional work on the as yet undiscussed project which Patrons got a sneak peek of recently. This will also be a Non-Fur project.
-Furry fans of mine will not go without, however, as I do have plans for another print collection that will be available this time next year. This project will be adult content, & will be available for purchase in print. More will be discussed on this other print collection in the near future.
-ALL of these projects will also be shared for free online at some point. The physical copies will be print on demand (at this point) & will be sold both online & at future convention appearances. It goes without saying all proceeds from these projects go towards us making more content in the future. If you like what you see, please do support us. So, if you haven’t been following us on social media (@devillo or lunarblazecrew on twitter) we have finally figured out our Immigration issues & are now fully situated in our American studio. We already have had one convention appearance under our belt (the Anime Blues Con in Memphis) & are hard at work preparing for our next outing at Mephit Furmeet, from September 1st to the 3rd (https://www.mephitfurmeet.org/). Now aside from some Green Card paperwork, the immigration side of things should be taken care of, & we can hunker down & focus on building up the site into a more solid base for readers to get to know the world we spent over 10 years building.

At the moment we are planning on having Mondays be our main comic update day, but it’s our intention to also spend Wednesday & Fridays on adding content to the site including behind the scenes work that until now only our Patrons on Patreon would have seen, tutorials on how we make the comic, & much more. We will be keeping you all up to date over the next few weeks over here & on the social media we mentioned previously, however, our current priority is getting the comic site properly linked up to the rest of our online projects, including our Redbubble store & in the next few months, we hope an online location where you can buy print copies of the comic! So as I have mentioned previously things have gone very well with my move to America so far, the wedding went off without any issue, all our relevant paperwork is filed & I'm now nice & legal. However the next phase is the Greencard registration, & at this point in time, things are going to be difficult for us as we are currently elbow's deep into con preparation for the summer. (Anime Blues Con next month, & Mephit in September) We have enough money to pay our fees (just) but that means we are going to really struggle for a few months as we have spent hundreds already on new Convention material for the year. Holy crap. So yeah, I really don't write Journals that often do I? XD.
First of all, I'm now 100% legally married & living full time in America with my wife Ajahli. We had a fun time at FWA, enjoying some of the sights Georgia had to offer including the Coke Museum, & we had a nice quiet service for our wedding in a public park live streaming it to friends & family. Good times. Right now we are hard at work on gearing up for some conventions coming this July, Mephit & Anime Blues Con. We plan on having collections of our respective comics Heirs to the Throne & Grim Reaper School, as well as a ton of prints, pins, stickers & other bits and pieces. Real excited to have our first convention booth together, & I hope anyone in the area of the cons is able to join us. In the meantime as well as working on Chapter 2 of Heir's to the Throne, I have been hard at work on editing speed painting videos explaining how I work, and I'm in early production on a Halloween project that should be an interesting addition to the Lunar Blaze portfolio. Hey guys, so in case you didn't notice since my last journal entry things have been going VERY well indeed! The American Embassy interview basically consisted of a friendly 2-minute chat after which I got told my Visa was confirmed & I could prepare my trip to see Ajahli! For those who haven't been following the story for around 3 years or so we have been trying to figure out the best way to get married, at first I was going to try & bring her into the UK, but due to immigration law changes that became impossible so the past year or 2 we have been working on getting my own Immigration visa to move to America. Now everything is sorted out all that's left is to pack my bags, put a TON of junk into storage & then fly out to see her, current ETA is around the 3rd of April.

So while I'm busy preparing for the big move I wanted to clue you guys in of what we both have planned for the coming year. We will both be attending FWA in April (though I will be under the grip of time difference & Jetlag still so please be gentle XD) While we don't have a table we will be walking around chatting with folk, & resisting the urge to buy a SHITLOAD of stuff from you guys XD. Through the year we will also be working on several comic projects, continuing with Heirs to the Throne, but also Ajahli's Voltron fancomic about werewolves which you can find on our shared site:

So as you've heard by now Chapter 1 of my comic project Heirs to the Throne is now on sale for $1.99 at https://gumroad.com/l/QBpGJ This is something I've been dying to share with you for years now & to have reached this first waypoint in the project is all kinds of exciting for me. For those of you who are following the project you will be aware of how long I've been working on this idea, heck I pretty much started it back when I came up with Devillo as an online alias. Speaking of Dev its been great evolving him from just another online persona into his own character with his own story to share, & I truly hope your all enjoying it so far. The real work on this chapter began during July/August of last year, with a Halloween release date, since the chapter was completed early Feb we can assume that on average the next chapter will take around 6-8 months to complete. This is because not only do I work a full-time job through the day, but I also really wanted to push myself with the quality of art in this comic, & as a result the pages can take a Loooong time to come together. Still, I'm playing the long game here, & I hope the full length complete graphic novel when it's done by around 2020 is going to benefit from the work put in!

Today I'm off to my final Immigration Interview, as I'm in the process of moving to America from England to be with my longtime partner & Fiance Ajahli. She has been a huge motivator & Inspiration in my work & my life, & pretty much is the most important person in the world to me, so I'm naturally a little on edge today. Hey gang hoping everyone is handling 2017 as well as they can, just wanted to pop by and bring ya'all up to speed on how things are going with Chapter One of Heirs to the Throne. All the lineart has finally been done, & work has commenced on the flat colours for the last few pages. If everything go's to plan I should have everything finished by next week. Now that chapter one is almost done I'm focusing on my embassy interview & my emigration to America for the next few weeks, but I will be sharing a page a week in the meantime as before. While I'm putting everything together for my big move to the States I'm going to be figuring out the next step with things here, wether we jump straight into chapter two of Heirs or we try something different to mix things up a bit. Any & all comments, ideas or opinions welcome! 

Currently working on a rough draft business plan for the next 12 months. Obviously still in the UK for a bit longer but after spending the past few months reading up on the best way to utilize different social media platforms and where people's attention seems to be moving, I'm now trying to figure out a business model that's going to help Lunar Blaze Studio's become a viable company. At the moment there seem to be 3 different directions we could go in terms of focus, I'm just trying to figure out the best way of getting a balance of these 3 & how they can be used to maximum benefit.
For those curious the 3 different branches I'm thinking about are thus.

First I think the idea of story telling the journey of a fresh immigrant living in America is going to be interesting for a lot of people, ESPECIALLY under President Trump. So daily updates of how things are going with the studio can be mixed with the trials and tribulations of getting to grips with the culture shift, the weather (cause god damn Tennessee is humid as hell) & of course being married to my partner finally.

Next is, of course, the core business of what myself &  reaperking do, & it's creating art. This is the main revenue generator, this is where we produce comics, bespoke commissions & share our own original stories and characters with the world. Right now the business plan for this is kinda figured out, we may have a few other things in the pipeline which may or may not tie into the LB Brand but that's for the future. We have at least 1 confirmed convention together this year at FWA in Atlanta, & hopefully we will have some interesting new things to show off in Artists Alley, as well as promote our comics including Heirs to the Throne. The Third is kinda a return to an old abandoned project of mine from a few years back. In case you didn't know, Youtube is one of the biggest search engines on the planet, ANYTHING you want to now, these days you're more likely to look up a video of how to do it than read an article online. So if you are not doing something on youtube you are doing it wrong. Now a few years back I wanted to try my hand at the game video scene, and while I did learn quite a bit It's fair to say the return on investment at the time wasn't the best, mainly because I was putting the cart before the horse & trying to make content for attention, instead of making good content that would get attention. Since my current steam library is 'ponderous' to be kind, & 'Fucking insane' to be more accurate (dennisillustration for those interested in checking it out) I've been trying to figure a way out of bringing the gaming side of things back into what we do at LB. I have a few ideas that I'm going to be exploring with Meg this year, but I'm mainly taking inspiration from animators & Illustrators who I follow on YT who do a lot of game-based art.

Anyway, that's the general gist of things as they are on January the 1st. Of course things are subject to change over time but theses are some of the things I'm looking at over the next 12 months. Also HUGE thanks to Tony for actually building a Dual Monitor PC for us to work on which has been a superb game changer for us. You are a life saver mate!
