Life Update From Long Absence

First and foremost, I'm sorry for basically falling off the face of the Earth since October. It wasn't something that was planned, believe me. I avoided posting any updates mostly just because I felt rather ashamed and guilty for basically posting "excuses" as to why I haven't been able to be on the computer. A lot of my life has changed in a short time and I just felt bad pushing FA to the back burner and I didn't want to face it.
Since October my life off the computer got overly complicated for no apparent reason. Between the normal part time school and work, I've also had a lot of family challenges. In the time that has passed, my mother's health has been a roller coaster which has pulled me away from any sort of free time that I've had. The most recent problem being that she suffered a stroke, and we're working and building back from that. She is doing well thankfully, but it just leaves me making sure to watch her more closely than before. I've also had a minor car accident, and depression problems with my sister. Just a lot to juggle.
All that being said, I haven't forgotten anyone. The wallpaper on my computer is my To Do list, I see it every day.
There aren't going to be any May 4th pics this year. Obviously because I still haven't finished last year's. I am trying to finish most of them by the end of May this year.
And last but not least.
Commissions are currently closed.
My manager at work is cutting back hours for everyone, which is allowing me to be home with my family to help my mother out which I am thankful for. But it also is allowing me a chance to reorganize my schedule and start to come back to the computer for more than just school work.

Oct Commissions Open

So I am down to my last 5 catch up pics from May and I have some urgent bills creeping up on me, and a shortcoming from my mother's unemployment. I am going to open up for a couple commission slots to cover my expenses and help my family out.
If you're wanting something, here are my current openings:
Halloween/Fall Icons - $15 (Couples $30)
One character, scenery background of your choice, costume if you prefer for the Halloween ones. Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17655927/
Sketches - $25 ($40 for two character)
One character, rough sketch of your character doing whatever you like. Can be shaded to suit the character, or left blank. Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21059778/
Full Body Commission - $60 base price
One character only, fully shaded, basic background. I charge extra for large wings, armor, or complex characters. These can be any theme Halloween, Pin ups, Star Wars, World of Warcraft, etc.
I am just taking a couple, I don't want to get overwhelmed. All of these will be completed by Oct 31st, Halloween icons will take preference over the other ones commissioned because of the time constraint and wanting to show them off before the upcoming holiday. But all are guaranteed to be finished by Oct 31st regardless.

The reason behind the quietness/being AWOL.
I've been trying to keep people up to date with what's going on on this side of the computer, but also trying to avoid unloading on all of you every single day. I will give just a general update as of right now, just so you guys can understand where I'm coming from.
When all was said and done with my mother, after 35 years(actually 40 but she took a break for college and they only count the time in a row) of working at her job, she was fired on Thursday of last week. It was a job she loved and the only real job she ever had. So even though she knew it was probably coming, it was a hard blow. As of right now, we have a plan in place but as a family we've got enough for the important bills(utilities and mortgage) and we're getting help for food, however right now mom's medical bills are the main worry. She's trying to work out with how to pay them something still, but it's going to be rough in this current situation.
She has applied for unemployment as well as SSI Disability. But we're still waiting for both to kick in as well as her last paycheck.Since she now has no job, she also has no health insurance as of the 1st of next month. So we're trying to race to each of her doctors to get in a last appointment for a while until we can get a good budget together to decide how much she can afford for insurance. Because of her health issues, my mom can't drive. So I have been the one running around and driving her from here to there, or picking up things for her, or sending things off in the mail to make sure that this transition process goes as smoothly as possible.
I was planning on starting college this fall along with a part-time job, but since my mom can't help me out now with the first semester's tuition, I'm probably not going to be able to do school. I am thinking instead of trying to find a full time job instead to help out with my family's finances, even if most of it went to helping to pay down my mom's medical bills. At this same time, I have a friend's wedding coming up in Oct and I am helping her with all her DIY stuff that's needed whenever my sister has a free day off that we can go together.
All of this has left me rather emotionally/physically drained at the end of the day and so I haven't been working on as much art. Still some each day, but it's been slow and I am sorry about it guys. Now that we're a bit more stable, I'm back to pushing myself harder to finish all that I owe. i'm just kind of tackling the list at what I can finish fastest first, instead of being strict about order, so that way hopefully people will get commissions faster since I'll be able to get the pics that are talking to me for the day out first.
I love all you guys, and I'm so very sorry for the chaos that i may have caused. But I'm trying my best to fix it.

My family is at a rather difficult crossroads now. I am still working on commissions every day, but I am in desperate need of more. I am sort of at the end of my rope here, and I really have no other choice. I've applied to several jobs in the area and have gotten turned down for all of them. I'm still applying, but its not an immediate solution.

Family/Life Update and Sketches Still For Sale! $25!

As a general short life update: my family is currently at the crossroads of a of a lot of chaos. I've tried to give bare minimal updates on here because a lot of my journals have turned out rather negative, but at the suggestion of
MorinW I'm going to include a general life update as well.
My mom's health is rather out of control. Her blood sugars have been so high for so long that it's now not only affecting her vision and hearing, but also her mental capacity. Apparently she forgot to pay most of the bills for the past two months. We thankfully got back on track using every last ounce of her past paycheck, and our church even helped to pay our electric bill. Money is so tight, we're also getting help for food for the next few months.
During this time, she is planning on going on short-term disability at work so that she can have free reign to go to the doctors, clinics, and other appointments without worrying about losing pay and can re-focus on her health and getting better. However, there's a very good chance that because of her missing things at work due to her cognitive issues, that she might be fired before, or even right after she comes back from that. As family, we have a plan, but life is sort of day by day and hoping that things work out. We have a plan in place no matter what happens but it's just really hard and stressful til then.
All while this is going on, I am applying to what places I can but not having much luck as of yet. But I keep trying. My sister is also trying to apply to places closer to home so if my mom's car dies(which it has been threatening to for a while), we'll save on gas as a family. Life is chaotic. I'm trying to help manage things at home, run errands, take my mom to and from appointments, make sure she takes her meds, on top of applying to places, playing phone tag and also working on commissions.
It's a long and draining process, but I am adamant on making it all work. I haven't forgotten any of you. The wallpaper on my desktop where I work, is my current To Do List, I am sorry for the lack of updates and slow progress, but I am doing my best to juggle a lot right now and even so, I do deeply apologize for the delays on commissions...
All that aside...

Life and Commission Queue Update

Sorry I've been so quiet, June has been a rather stressful month for me and my family. A lot of the month was dealing with some mental and regular health issues between my mother and sister which took up a lot of my extra time. There were days where I dropped everything to help make sure that my sister's spirits were up, and other days required me to run mom to a bunch of places.
The past two weeks really caused everything to come to a screeching halt. My sister's depression had gotten the better of her a lot of the days, which really strained the entire family but she is doing better. My mom's leg wound from her surgery is now fully healed, but her work is flirting with firing her once again and we're all just kind of waiting for the shoe to drop and see where things end up.
And last Friday, while I was out shopping with my family for gardening supplies to help boost both mom and sister's moods, I stashed our shopping cart on the side of a handicap spot. The wind blew and ended up blowing my cart straight into a man's car leaving a dent on the front wheel well of his passenger side. He wouldn't let us leave without taking down our car insurance info as well as my drivers license, which I was happy to give him because it was an accident that was my fault. It was only as we drove home that I realized, I never updated my license from when I moved which means the only contact info he has for me is an outdated address. We're kinda hoping that it goes through our car insurance so that the max we pay is $500(our deductible) and we'll be indirectly contacted about paying it. However if he can't go through our insurance, I've been rather stressed out worrying how he can contact me because I wasn't thinking and didn't get any of his information.
So that's been my current life stress. X3
Because of that art has been slow, and I do apologize profusely. I am working day by day and trying to tackle it as best as I can. Here is an up to date queue for the Star Wars pics that I am continuing to work on as I type this.

Back on FA! Still Working on Pics!

I was actually out of town during the major FA craziness but I am finally back home with my password reset and all good now. I am still working on commissions, I have a few of them inked from while I was gone without a chance to read any forms for color schemes, so I am working on coloring them now.
If anyone has any questions or concerns for me, feel free to ask, I just might be quiet for a day or two as I get caught up on messages from the outage. ^^

Currently Batch 1 and 2 are all sketched and approved, I wasn't able to sketch batch 3 during FA being down. I will be finishing their sketches and getting them sent out by the weekend. ^^

Posted 8 years agoI am opening up my final batch of Star Wars commissions for the year 2016. The payment for these needs to be sent in by 5/20, the sooner the better. The reason for this is because I am going out of town from 5/19-5/22. I want to have all the payments in so that I can continue to seamlessly work on these to complete them by the end of May, or first week of June at the latest.
Note: Batch 3 forms to be completed after Batch 2. I am taking these forms and will be working on the sketches and sending them out as they come in. As I wait for approval of batch 3 sketches, I'll be finishing batch 2 pictures. ^^

- Sketch - full color sketch, 1 character, thighs up
- Full Digi - full color inked pic, 1 character, full body
* Character can be any race: anthro, human, or Star Wars based(Twi'lek, Zabrak, Wookie, etc.) Characters can also be any age!
* Character must be in some form of Jedi/Sith robes. I'm not gonna draw a random wolf dude in jeans with a lightsaber, that to me does not a Jedi make, sorry. X3 Part of the fun for this for me is working with the outfits. If you have a specific type of robes you'd like, please provide a reference image. If you have a specific color scheme for the robes, please provide that as well.
* Special Addition For 2015: I am including bounty hunter, storm trooper, smuggler(think Han Solo ish) type clothing options as well as including blasters as a weapon choice instead of lightsaber. If you have a particular type of outfit you want to include, please include a reference pic. Also please understand, this doesn't mean a tshirt and jeans with a blaster. It's still clothing themed to the Star Wars universe. If you choose to have a storm trooper or bounty hunter in full armor for your character, it will cost an additional $15! * When ordering your commission, please state which type you'd prefer.
- Sketch - full color sketch, 1 character, thighs up
- Full Digi - full color inked pic, 1 character, full body
* Character can be any race: anthro, human, or Star Wars based(Twi'lek, Zabrak, Wookie, etc.) Characters can also be any age!
* Character must be in some form of Jedi/Sith robes. I'm not gonna draw a random wolf dude in jeans with a lightsaber, that to me does not a Jedi make, sorry. X3 Part of the fun for this for me is working with the outfits. If you have a specific type of robes you'd like, please provide a reference image. If you have a specific color scheme for the robes, please provide that as well.
* Special Addition For 2015: I am including bounty hunter, storm trooper, smuggler(think Han Solo ish) type clothing options as well as including blasters as a weapon choice instead of lightsaber. If you have a particular type of outfit you want to include, please include a reference pic. Also please understand, this doesn't mean a tshirt and jeans with a blaster. It's still clothing themed to the Star Wars universe. If you choose to have a storm trooper or bounty hunter in full armor for your character, it will cost an additional $15! The reason for this is the armor takes me a lot longer to sketch and ink than the jedi robe counter parts.
* Character can have 1, 2 or a double-ended lightsaber. This also includes different lightsaber types(tonfa, pike, whip, etc.) Character may have extra lightsabers attached to a belt for instance, but they cannot be on/active in the image.
* Lightsabers can be of any color(s). You may dual wield two different lightsaber colors if you wish. If you want an actual lightsaber crystal color, I suggest checking this page for some ideas: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lightsaber_crystal
* Also New For 2015: I am including the use of Jedi/Sith powers as an option INSTEAD of a weapon choice. This means if you want force lightning in one hand, you cannot have a lightsaber active in the other. I was lax about this last year, but I'm sticking with either or this year. ^^ You can however have a lightsaber attached to the character's belt. The easiest to add would be Force Lightning, but I will try other force powers out as well. Mind you these are all 1 character commissions.
* Background for commission is default texture, unless otherwise specified. Color of the texture can be changed by request. Note: Adding scenery for the background will cause the price to change based on difficulty of the scenery.
* Once the sketch is approved, I will not add color to the image until after final payment is received. Once the sketch is approved, there will be no changes made unless it is a marking or color error on my part. This includes if you posted the wrong color on your form and changed your mind later. I don't save individual PSD files for each of these, so going back in and changing colors once I've gone and shaded is very hard a lot of the time.

Sick as a Dog... err Kinkajou
Posted 8 years agoSorry for the quietness people. These past few days I've been sick as a dog. I don't know if it's something I ate and this is a case of food poisoning or if it's some kind of nasty stomach bug or type of flu. I spent the early hours of Saturday morning getting sick and running to the bathroom. The time I did spend awake was spent fading from chills to sweating and back and forth. I ended up sleeping away 80% of my Sunday, and the nausea has subsided for now thankfully, but I ache all over and feel light headed if I stay up for too long.
I know I have pin ups to finish, as well as other pics, I haven't forgotten. I just need another day or two to recover before I can get back to work. Sorry for the crazy delays guys =/

General Life Update and Birthday!

So Saturday, March 5th, was my birthday and so I sorta took the weekend off to celebrate. I had an incredibly epic time, went to a special screening of Zootopia sponsored by Midwest Fur Fest along with
Kyska and MorinW Bad me forgot to remind Kyska, so she was in a separate theater at the same time, but she got to see it in 3D, jelly! XD But Morin and I fursuited, even if it was just a little bit, it was super fun. The movie was excellent, and really just had some great messages! Will definitely see it again!
Morin spent the night and then Saturday we had lunch together, and decided to go see a movie but we had some time to kill. So he took me on a mini random tour of Paintball Explosion near my house. Was kinda cool getting to see the areas where people can play. Got to say hi to a couple of his friends, it was rather fun. ^^ After that we went and saw London Has Fallen, and it was rather good as well. So it was a kinda well rounded weekend and super fun.
Sunday night my mom had said she was having trouble breathing again, so after waiting a couple hours to see if an extra water pill would help, and also if her blood sugar would go down, and neither did I spent my morning in the ER with her. We were there for 5 hours before finally saying she was going to be admitted and my mom sent me home. So my mom is back in the hospital, and I'm back to being home alone for the moment.
That being said, as stressed as that sorta makes me, I am sorta left to my own devices right now, which means I am going to be working on art almost constantly, at least as much as my wrist allows me to, so that I can get caught up from a weekend off work.
So, if you haven't heard from me recently, that's why. But I'll be around working. <3

I don't have time to do the full pic, so we decided to work together. <3
It will end up being a collab between us. I'll be doing the base sketch, and she will be inking and coloring the final product. She has some amazing artwork, in fact if you aren't watching her you should be!

I'm going to be rather tight with bills this month and since I've knocked out half my to do list so far, I was hoping to take on a few full body commissions to help out. Heya everyone! With Valentine's Day right around the corner, I wanted to doodle something rather cute to go along with the holiday and I thought about doing a few love sick icons. They feature your character posed however you want them to be reacting to love (dreamy, happy, excited, nauseated, annoyed...) with animated hearts popping around them.

Update Journal, What a Crazy End/Start of the Year!

So I kinda went AWOL for a while there because after having an incredibly amazing MFF, I ended up with a nasty cold that turned into a sinus infection that lasted for the entire month of Dec. Ungh that was awful. Poor MorinW ended up with the same thing as well. I dunno if it was con crud or if it was just general sickness cause it's that time of year, but man... horrible. I spent most of my time sleeping and when I wasn't sleeping I was drinking fluids. It was just not fun.
The Monday we were checking out of the hotel for MFF, my mother called my sister's phone and basically said she heard a pop in her foot and now she can't put any weight on it without a lot of pain. She said "don't worry, but when you get home we might need to go to the ER, no rush!" >> We rushed. LOL
My talented mother managed to break her ankle in 2 spots and had to have surgery to fix it. She now has a plate and 12 screws in her ankle and has been in a cast since. Which has left me basically becoming the errand and chore person for the household, woo! XD Mom's doing okay, she's a trooper I'll give her that LOL. She's ready to rip her cast off now. Next Friday she should be switching to a walking boot and starting with physical therapy. Fun stuff!
So sickness, casts, crazy job and insurance problems... whew. What a crazy month and a half it's been.
I'm going to start posting some of the stuff I was working on while I've been gone, I'm sorry for the delays. But I'll try and keep things as open as possible. <3

Sorry For Being Quiet

I'm so sorry I've been so quiet recently. Once again family problems reared their ugly head. My mom went back into the hospital for a couple of days because of her CHF flaring up. The main reason it did was because work was putting her under a bunch of extra stress atm, and it just started making it hard for her to breathe.
The main reason why I've been so quiet though is kyska was in a car accident on Wednesday. It was minor injury wise, the other driver wasn't hurt and she's just basically severely sore, no even major bruising. But her car was totaled in the accident since it was her front end. So the family has just been on edge making sure that she's okay, and the car is all taken are of. Now that it seems to be taken care of, I'm back to work on art. Trying to do everything I can to finish stuff as quickly as possible.
Once again guys, I don't mean to keep delaying stuff, but apparently RL drama just isn't done with me ><

I had some last minute bills pop up because September seemed to appear out of no where. Like seriously, where did August go? XD But because of this, I really need some funds in a short amount of time. I'm still working on the Star Wars pics daily, but I wanted to open up for a few icons in the meantime to hopefully settle my money worries.

I'm posting a new update journal for current commission queue because I know some people are getting a bit anxious. The only reason why I took on a couple icon commissions was to pay for a bill, otherwise my commissions are closed. The reason being is I am working through what I currently owe, and have been. ^^;

I've been kinda sucked into a black hole recently and have been working away endlessly sometimes til 5-6am in the morning trying to get these commissions out. I am down to the last few Star Wars pics and I hope to have them finished by next week. That being said, a bunch got uploaded today so if you have seen your finished product and I haven't uploaded it yet, poke me so I can keep them all together. XD I am still working on them though! So don't worry if yours isn't here yet, they're being worked on.
Other than that....
Things have been great!
I can say now officially ALL of the plumbing problems in my family's house are fixed. I can actually take a shower in my own shower now instead of in the basement one lol. We now have a hose hook up outside the house so we can water the lawn. It was a huge relief to get all of that taken care of. However because of that, and some other chaos with car trouble, I'm putting off school for one more year. >< Not totally what I had in mind but it's okay, I'll be able to be in a better spot next year. ^^

Picking Mom Up In the Morning Hopefully!

I've been working away as best I can, but once again stress has to rear its ugly head! My mom's been in the hospital the past couple of days once again. She was in there for 2 days just a week or so ago because of her blood sugar being out of whack... and this time it was because of her Congestive Heart Failure flaring up. Basically she had so much swelling and excess fluid, she had fluid gathering in her lungs which made it basically impossible for her to do much of anything.
Hopefully with 2 hospital stays, granted short thank goodness, back to back she'll start to take a bit more care of herself. As her daughter I can only do so much. I make dinner and make sure that it stays within her guidelines, but she makes her own lunch and breakfast... lets hope, this all settles down soon. X3
I did get to spend a wonderful day with my wuffie on Monday, that did help save my sanity just a bit and helped me to get inspired to get back to work. <3
