Posted 2 years agoQuite a number of things crossed my mind and I think a solid change is in order.
Don't worry it's nothing bad as many of you might think.
I'm simply going to be changing the names of both my fursonas.
My dragon's name, Canas Khoury Nagase, will be shifted over to my border collie.
When I look at that name, I remember the life I lived back in Guatemala, as my grandfather was the one that gave me that name, and it's essentially my true self.
I bet you're wondering why my dragon was the one carrying that name and not my border collie.
The truth is, it began about 14 years ago when I joined a Pokémon Online Group and I had to think of an alias on there, and I chose "Canas" at the time.
Within two years in I had met
SyrusWolfos and we became very good rivals in Pokemon and Yugioh, then he decided to bring me into the Furry Fandom.
Thanks to an artist friend of his,
IshiGray I was given a dragon fursona that you've all come know today.
That was when I officially gave him the name Canas Nagase.
Many years passed at that point, and I started to feel like I was slowly getting detached from the life I once lived back in Guatemala.
In a way, I didn't want that part of me to disappear as it played a major part in who I've become over the years.
That was the motive to bringing the border collie to life you know as Khoury.
For some time now, whenever I get called Canas by the bunch of you, I get mixed feelings as that's the name of my dragon, as well as my past self from Guatemala.
The way I see it, the dragon represents the "Mask" I had to wear when coming to the States, knowing full well the majority of what I learned back in Guatemala is rendered meaningless here.
With this in mind, I've decided to rename the dragon Kotarou.
I' can't really describe or understand why it feels very... fitting.
Perhaps later I'll figure it out.
For now, the name changes I mentioned will be official.
It may take some time for us all for adjust, but I'm completely certain that this will do me some good for the future.
I do need to get started in adjusting my previous submissions to update the name changes,
And... I need to get some new con badges so I can be identified correctly while roaming around. ^^;

Time for Guatemala
Posted 3 years agoIt's February now and I'm pretty excited about it.
Before anyone says "Valentines Day," that's not it.
What happens after is what's the focus of this journal and kinda needed at this point.
As you all know, I was born and raised in Guatemala and I haven't exactly gone back after 15 years of immigrating to the states.
I think I need to fix that.
I'll be flying out to Guatemala on February 15th and I won't be back until March 2nd.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm mixed up with excitement, nervousness and have the butterflies in my stomach.
The reason being is that I haven't seen any of the family I left behind after 15 years.
It's going to be really weird seeing all my cousins grown up, married and having families of their own.
I guess you can say that it's akin to traveling 15 years into the future, not knowing what you'll see when you emerge.
There is one other thing I should mention.
Due to the fact that I am going back to a 3rd World Country, internet access will be limited and my phone can't really do International Calling without making my wallet hemorrhage hard. @_@
I'll make a few appearances days apart in Telegram, so I kindly ask everyone to not approach me unless there's a crisis I need to handle.
I'll also be taking those opportunities to post some pics on Twitter here and there, and I'm going to apologize in advance for ruining the furry magic with said pics.
I think that's about it for now.
I will give you guys a chance to ask me about any other info when it comes to Guatemala and the life I used to live down there.

Another stinkin update. What else is new? XD

Sorry for the hold up... and the pain I'm causing myself typing this.
I'm a total masochist aren't I? XD
So here's what's going on.
The majority of you know that I've been working my non-existing ass off doing landscape work for the university, and thoroughly enjoying it. ^^
But little did I know, was that it was starting to get too physically taxing on me, especially on my hands from operating heavy machinery on a daily basis.
In addition to this, cutting all the grass all the time was also triggering non-stop allergy attacks that have basically kept me from being able to work ten minutes without having to stop, drop my equipment and host a sneezing concert until my nose has had it's fix. XD
I'm pretty sure you guys are wondering if wearing a mask is a good idea to alleviate that.
Guess what... It didn't do jack shit cuz somehow those blades of grass will slip into the cracks and tickle my nose constantly. @_@
Considering those two factors I mentioned up above and speaking to my landscape supervisor about this, the two of us had agreed that it's best to swap back to being a custodian.
Work wise, the paperwork has already circulated through the University Human Resources and I've restarted my job as a Custodian this past Monday.
I do apologize for not speaking sooner about this, but I won't deny that it was felt like a real kick in the dick that right when I get back into a job I thoroughly enjoyed, those unwelcomed factors made it impossible to progress even further.
I suppose going back to being a Custodian will hopefully be easier on my hands as they've been in constant pain.
If you're concerned about them, I have a doctor's appointment on the 26th to see what can be done about them.
I'll be sure to update you on that regard once the verdict on the matter has been decided.
The job change also changes the my availability for the bunch of you.
I work Mon-Fri from 5:30pm to 2:00am Eastern Standard Time.
Don't count on me being active during that time frame. ^^;
I think that's it in terms of updates.
Excuse me while I wrap my hands in Ice Packs cuz they're hurting from typing this. XD

Shifting Gears for the Winter.
Posted 4 years agoHard to believe it's been a whole year since I typed up a new journal.
I suppose no news is good news unless I actually post some bad shit on here.
Thankfully this one has no mention of good or bad, just some big changes going on.
I'll just get on with it then.
The majority of you know that I work at the Indiana State University in Bloomington as a Custodian.
Now then, because the majority of the students and staff have returned home for the winter, scheduled to return in February.
There's no telling whether they will return at that time or they'll stay home for even longer periods of time.
Anyway, they're cutting back on the custodial crew, but rather than lay us off, they're shifting us to different departments.
In my case, it's with the landscape department.
Thankfully I'm already well versed in this trade, so that's some good news.
There is, however, one complication that I have to keep in mind: the cold.
Everyone that knows me, knows that my body and the cold DO NOT MIX well.
Thankfully I did some shopping with my boyfriend's sister to get the recommended clothing I'll be needing for this new job.
All that's left is to wait for my starting date on November 30th.
There's also one other thing.
The change in vocations also means a schedule change.
Rather than working from 5:30pm to 2:00am on the weekdays, I'll be working the same days, except from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
This does complicate things a little with my boyfriend.
You see, he works in the evenings, so in order to spend time with him, I'll have to divide up my sleep schedule into two increments of 4 hours a piece rather than a full 8 hours at once.
This will definitely be quite a challenge to shift to, but I'll manage somehow.
One other thing, I've been messaging and calling the bunch of you on Telegram and my cellphone while I was a custodian because of how lonesome and quiet it would get.
I won't be able to do that anymore while doing landscape work due to having to keep my attention on my surroundings because let's face it, when you're exposed to nature like this, ANYTHING can kill you, but I'll save the horror stories for another time.
That's the end of that.
Hopefully you guys understand and adjust accordingly. ^^

Phone update.
Posted 5 years agoWould it be bad to admit that I completely forgot up write this when I got my new phone last week? ^^;
Well it happened... Anyway, I managed to get my hands on a Nokia 6.
I've pretty much learned how to use this thing very well and enjoying the hell out of it.
The good news is that I was able to keep my same phone number.
I'm hoping to keep this thing for a few years like I usually doing with my phones.
Gotta invest in some armor for this.
Anyway, I'll be updating as things go along with me and my boyfriend. <3

Here's the deal, I can't receive calls or texts directly on my cellphone temporarily.
The good news is that for some strange, I was still logged on Telegram with an older phone I still have on hand.
I need to let you guys know that I'll be seen as online 24/7 for a few days.
The reason being is that if at anytime I log off, it'll be impossible to log back on without a phone to receive the code.
Instead I'll give you the available timeframes I'll actually be on Telegram to chat.
I usually wake up around 12:00pm EST, sometimes earlier.
I'll take off 4:30pm during the weekdays because I need to go to work.
I return home around 2:30am to check up on Telegram to see if I missed anything.

This is what happens when I'm focused on everything else and not this here.

After two months of living together with my boyfriend here in Indiana, we have a bit of a solid grip on what it means to having a place of our own.
The two of us have jobs, make sure we have food in the fridge, learning our new homeland, and starting to slowly venture out when we can.
I will admit that I am still rather nervous about the giant step I took to get here strictly because this is a brand new experience for the two of us.
For the time being, we're focusing on just... Settling in and saving up so we can upgrade to a better living space so we can expand and begin to really make a place of our own here.
This is pretty much the gist of what's been going on between the last update and this one.
When it comes to me and my boyfriend, this is the first step to the rest of our lives. <3
I'll be seeing you guys soon.

Reason was that there was still some unconfirmed details on dates on the move and wanted to iron them before disclosing.
Now then, on to the good stuff.
My boyfriend has set his resignation date for his job on April 9th.
His birthday is the day after and we'll be celebrating it together with his parents.
On April 13th, he and I are going to move in with his sister in Bloomington, Indiana, only bringing our essentials for the time being.
While we're there, the two us will be looking for work and once we both land or jobs, we'll be getting our paperwork together on the apartment complex we want to move in to on it own.
We're aiming the deadline on May 1st to get into our own apartment and start our lives together.
Once we do get our apartment, we'll be going back to Michigan so we can rent a moving truck and get the rest of our belongings to finalize the move.
I'm really hoping things go very smoothly. ^^
I'll keep you guys updated one things get finalized and start a new chapter with my boyfriend.

Status Update... After a whole FUCKING year! >_<;

If anything, I wouldn't be surprised if you guys thought I died or flat out disappeared. ^^;
My own fault though for not giving a damn about my FA Page too much.
Enough of that BS, let's get to what I'm doing in the near future.
As most of you know that I've been speaking to in recent days, I'll be moving from Delaware to Michigan to be with my boyfriend,
after meeting him for four years ago.
After much deliberation and discussion between the direct parties involved, we've all agreed to the moving plan an here's how it's going to roll.
For those who are in the state of Delaware or neighboring states, there will be a Farewell Celebration for me as well as a Birthday Party for
during the first weekend of March.
After that, my final day working as the demented jackass of a Manager at the Dairy Queen I've been working at for the three years I've resided in Delaware will come to an end on March 5th.
March 8th: I'll be receiving my final payroll and be paying my last set of bills for Slim and join him to make arrangements with Uhaul to rent a Moving Truck for the move.
I'll be bringing it back to our place in Delaware and transfer all my crap, which really isn't much, into the back and make our preparations for departure in the morning.
March 9th: In the morning, Slim and myself will begin our journey.
The drive from Dover, Delaware to Lake Odessa Michigan will be 12 hours long, possibly longer depending on restroom and food brakes here and there.
It'll be pretty late once we arrive at our destination, so the two of us will most likely just have dinner with my boyfriend and his parents and call it a day there.
March 10th: Slim, my boyfriend and myself will unload the Uhaul truck and return it to the company so we can go on with our day, nothing but chilling and relaxing after the journey we had endured the previous day.
March 11: I can't remember exactly what time, but my boyfriend and I will be dropping Slim off to the airport in Grand Rapids Michigan so he can fly home, with his mate,
, waiting for him to bring him home from the Philadelphia Airport.
That's pretty much the gist of the move itself, but there's still much more waiting for my boyfriend and I do to in the future.

Despite the fact that it was one of the most dangerous gambles I've ever made while here in the US, I was determined to find a way to make it all work and get my ass back in gear.

Anthro Con Pokemon Battle Results
Posted 7 years agoI got my Pokemon prepared for any possible Pokemon Tournament happening there.
Too bad there were none available.
But my efforts weren't in vain as I "accidentally" run into a fellow Pokemon Player in the Zoo and turns out she was a VGC Player.
She and I pretty much went "Pokemon Geek Mode" and started battling each other.
We just kept battling each other using different teams and different move sets until our batteries started dying.
We parted ways after all those epic matches.
It's too bad we don't have a means of keeping in touch, otherwise I'd be battling her every damn day of the week

Sinnoh Classic Online Pokemon Tournament Results
Posted 8 years agoI took part in another online tournament, and I feel like I did pretty good.
This was my record this time.
28 wins, 17 losses.
I'm actually pretty happy with how this came out, though I still have a lot to learn.
A lot of the battles were dangerous, to a point where I would either win by the skin of my teeth, or make a mistake and this costs me the entire match.
Doesn't exactly help that I had 60 seconds per turn to make my moves
And... I like this kind of pressure.
Maybe I just love being in the battle field. ^^
Alright. I recorded all my matches and I spent the last few days trying to pick the top 10 to post online for you guys to see.
Wish I could post them all, but bleh. Fuck you limits.
