Fractured finger.
Posted 8 years agoA few days ago I managed to fracture a finger from my drawing hand.
I got surgery and I'm in recovery, but typing is a pain and drawing impossible.
Just to let you guys know that I won't be posting art for a while.

Lack of Updates
Posted 10 years agoWell, it's been nearly a month since I last updated the Orc! fiction.
It mostly boils down to this: lots of IRL issues (family and work) really stressed me out during the holidays, and I have been feeling horribly burned out lately.
Haven't drawn anything for weeks, and I don't feel like I can handle at the moment the (self imposed) pressure of updating the story every day. So, I might see if I start doing some sketches every now and then, probably unrelated to it.
I do want to follow it up (I hate the fact that so many unfinished stories are stacking up, and I do feel guilt for everyone I see, be it, the stories like this one, or Tesera Prime, or even older stories that are deep buried in my gallery, like the Dave series, the original Monster Forge comic idea).
Anyhow, I will try to add new drawings, just, nothing that I feel pressured to update regularly.
Hugs
Cesar.

Grunted! - Updates Not Showing on Notifications.
Posted 10 years agoMy last two Grunted pages are not showing on some people's notifications.
I'm not sure what to do, because this means people don't see and don't vote on them, and the voting is a vital part of having the story move forward.
I have some people telling me I should move the Interactive Fiction from FA to some of the other sites, but I know my main following is here.
I do announce on Twitter every time I update a page (Twitter user is: @caesarcub), but I'm not sure if that is good enough.
Should I stop the story until they fix the issue? Should I follow doing it anyhow, and hope people check it by their own volition? Should I move it to Weasyl, SoFurry or InkBunny?
I seriously need opinions and ideas on this, because the way these stories work, they need people voting basically every day, and without a notification system working, this becomes impossible.
Edit:
According to a friend, the journal is not showing up in his notifications either, so well, I guess no one will be notified of my journal about not getting notifications on my art. I have truly achieved the power of being invisible.

Make an Orc Foundation.
Posted 10 years agoSo, I made this Orc Maker (link here, half because I wanted a fun way for you guys to vote how the next Interactive Fiction main character should look like and half because I have been playing a lot about making characters in parts that can be assembled like this.
I noticed that most of you seemed to really enjoy playing with it, so here is the question:
What content do you guys think it's missing?
Besides being able to paste a code and see what other people made with it. (As I mentioned somewhere else, the code it has right now only works for me to know what the character should look like rather than be used to recreate the orc exactly as you guys made it).
So, considering I would make it work both ways, what do you guys feel it lacks? It would be nice to know so if I make a new version I can focus on that.

Updates
Posted 10 years agoFor the last month, the project I was doing at work was ending.
This meant I had more free time, and felt less stressed.
Which turned into me being able to do The Forest III and other things.
The thing is that yesterday the project finally ended. And that means next week I will most probably get sucked into a new project, and knowing the place I work in, it will be a chaotic one, but I don't know yet.
I will try to start a new story, but be warned that it might die up depending on what work throws at me.
So, this is a heads up so you guys know I might disappear again.
Hugs
Caesar.

Update - the second
Posted 13 years agoHi everybody.
I haven't been around for months, and well, it sucks.
When I look to the list of past journals, I can see that for the last nine months I have been having issues keeping up with work and producing lots of art, and for the last five months, the art directly stopped.
I want to thank to all of you that sent me shouts and personal messages asking me if I was OK. I'm ashamed to say that I don't think I answered many of them.
For those of you worried, the BF is doing great, and I'm doing fine, just having work draining a lot of me.
Personally, I miss being around here, and drawing and chatting to you guys.
I will soon be posting the page of a new Interactive Fiction. I hope you guys enjoy it and are forgiving about the updates it will have. Sadly, I cannot push myself to go for the 7 days a week update. Heck, I'm afraid work might come with a new deadline and leave me in a sorry state not feeling like drawing again, but dammit, I want to give it a try!
So, basically that, I miss you guys and I will try to incorporate FA into my life and see if I can take the time to draw again.
Hugs
Cesar

Update
Posted 13 years agoAs I mentioned on a post the other day, the hubbie is back home and things are better.
I'm still feeling tired and drained, so I'm not planning to go back to the drawing-everyday routine I used to have. I will try to post things every now and then, but I just don't feel like doing it all the time.
I also wanted to thank you all guys for the nice words and support you have given me, and I apologize that I haven't answered everyone of you personally.
Thanks.
*hugs*

Away from FA.
Posted 13 years agoSorry guys I haven't updated anything, but my hubby is at the hospital for almost a week now.
I have been pretty much busy with that, work and just not feeling like much on any other moment.
He is doing fine, but they won't release him until they have run every test they can. (Either to check that things are ok or to bleed the healthcare company dry).
Anyhow, that's the news from me.
Hugs to you all, and well, see you when things go back to normal.

Horribly busy - Update on my Life and the IF (Comic).
Posted 13 years agoThat's how work is keeping my life lately.
I'm stressed and working on weekends and learning about that amazing feeling you get when both your head and your eyes throb in rhythm to each other.
I don't want to stop drawing, but I just don't have the will to do it sometimes. When I get some free time I end up watching some Doctor Who episode or catching up some sleep.
Hopefully in a week or so I will get some free time back, but that's not set in stone.
I'm sorry I haven't been able to update the IF daily, and I don't know if I will be able to do so anytime soon. I'm tempted to put a hiatus into it, and try something more free form and see if that takes less time.
The thing is, I need to draw, it's part of myself and I feel miserable if I don't do it somehow often. So I think I might do something more sketchy. Something I can seriously finish in 30-60 minutes. I don't really know, I'm tired and I'm rambling here.
Anyhow, I really appreciate all the nice things you guys tell me. Over this last month I have gotten several messages of support from many of you, and I feel touched to know how many people care about me and my work.
So, basically, I might to do a more random sketchy stuff for now and leave the IF for later. It frustrates me not to be able to keep the daily updates, and it's been a week since the last update.
One way or the other, I want your opinions, after all, it's my work, but you are the ones that have to put up with it.
Hugs and once again, thanks for all the support.
Cesar
And remember that is not dead which can eternal lie.

I expect tomorrow I will be able to do a page at some point.

I'm still a zombie, but I think I'm slowly recovering from it.
It was really nice to see all those "get better" messages. Makes me feel so warm and dizzy (or maybe it's just fever, we will see).

I feel like crap.
Posted 13 years agoWell, just that. I'm all with a runny nose, sneezing and throwing god knows what things that I have on the inside out.
So, the headache this is giving me prevents me from doing something more complex than sip tea and write a crappy journal.

Hopefully will feel better tomorrow and put some nice page of heroic.

Quick News on the Interactive Fiction.
Posted 13 years agoI won't be able to draw it until tonight.
I had people over all the night and one had to stay over and he is roaming around so naked kitty drawing is not possible.
Sorry.

Interactive Fiction - Ominous.
Posted 14 years agoIf it came to the point where we get Horace killed, should I put a death page, and leave the story as it is, or make a sort of hiatus and then after a while (let's say some other story happens) go back to it, and continue from an earlier point?
I'm saying we, because it's at much my part, for putting the obstacles around as it is yours for the votes you pick.
I really want opinions on this, so I can decide how to move things along. When I talked almost a year ago with people on the killing-of-characters and the replaying with different outcomes, I had people argue that giving "infinite lives" would cheapen the character and detach the players from it. This is the main reason why characters have never died so far; but this story was supposed to have death nearer, since it's related to the occult and stuff.
I am giving it too much thought at the idea of going ahead and killing him or look for a loophole and save him myself.
So, I want opinions.
On a completely unrelated situation, I got talked into getting a twitter account, I'm thinking about every now and then show what I'm working on at the moment there. http://twitter.com/caesarcub if you guys are interested.

World Furs - Tour
Posted 14 years agoI decided to make furs from all over the world.
Here's how I'm going to do this. You guys get to propose your own country. That is, you have to be Peruvian to propose Peru. I want the country, the animal you feel it mostly represents that country (please, try to pick a mammal when possible, also, this is to avoid things like drawing a Greek Panda) and what kind of clothing is stereotypical and/or traditional to that country. I might harass you with more information about it. The idea is to be fun about this.
I know there are lot of people here that is not from the USA, and well, I want you guys to participate.
Sorry to the American furs that will have to sit this one out, but hey, you are the ones that usually get all the fun around here.
TLDR version: Your country if it's not listed already, the animal you feel is representative from it and the stereotypical way you guys dress or the traditional one. If you see someone already mentioned your country, and I haven't drawn it yet, feel free to offer alternatives.
Also, if you can add whether men are usually cut or uncut in the country, that will help :D
World Furs so far:
01.- Argentina -link-
02.- Norway -link-
03.- England -link-
04.- Italy -link-
05.- United States of America -link-
06.- China

That Commissions Journal
Posted 14 years agoSince some people have asked about it, I will just decided to put a journal again.
Basically it's $35 for one colored character, and $15 more if a second one is around. (paypal is ok, any other form of payment can be discussed)
If you have anything special in mind, we can chat it over.
As for what will/won't I draw - well, I don't do extreme things (you know, scat, snuff, or those fancy words I have to look up the meaning just to get horrified), if you are not sure I will do it, ask, I won't laugh at your face, worst case scenario, I'll tell you that I don't feel comfortable doing it. (I promise not to call the FBI)
Just that.
Hugs
Caesar.

Posted 14 years agoOn my way to bed I decided to check if FA was back up, and it seems the daily hack was over.
I'm sorry but it's 4am here, and I don't have the energy to tally the votes, draw, write and post the page, and then sleep so I can go to work tomorrow.
I will try to get the page done tomorrow, if our hacker friends decide not to fuck up the place again.
Talk about rude guests.

Interactive Fiction Updates
Posted 14 years agoOk, so Simple Story is finished, and I doubt Monster Forge will have much more life.
So, this is the suggestion for settings.
For the new guys:
Give me suggestions for the next IF.
Keep in mind that things like "haunted house", "card game", "ancient rome", etc... are good, because they offer many things to do.
Things like "how about a story of sex with a cab driver" are too restrictive. You'd rather say a setting where sex with said guy could happen. That is, for example a city.
As for the voting system:
I will keep the vote system. However, the way things are done, will depend on the comments I like the most. That is, if everyone votes to talk to the cute guy, and someone mentions to ask him specifically about his clothes, while someone else mentions his shoes. I might go with the talk vote, and decide myself which specific variation of the voting I will pick.
This way, I will just tally the votes as "all these votes say apologize" but I may pick one with a particular wording or funny remark, even if it's not the most voted.
TLDR version: Suggest a setting. The voting system will stay on.
Hugs.
PS: Thanks for all the watches and comments and stuff, I get overwhelmed at them and sometimes I can't answer back to all of you, but I do read them.

The next Interactive Fiction.... Should it be by votes?
Posted 14 years agoMonster Forge is slowly going to end, and the next one will have to be picked as usual.
It has been pointed to me that the voting system has its flaws, and several times I got people telling me to just handpick the options.
I always refused to this, I wanted the story to really have input from the viewers.
But, now I have two stories, so I could give it a try.
Should the next IF (that will replace Monster Forge) be based on me picking the best suggestion from all the ones you guys give?
Or should things stay as they are?
I really want your input on this.
Side note: Thanks to doppleganger for the cute avatar he commissioned for me.

Updates on life
Posted 14 years agoWell, next week I start to do some training at work, so that means I will be even MORE hours there, and with less free time. I have no idea how it will affect my art-time.
I might eventually have to change the update times of some stuff (if the training goes well, I will be moved to a different project, with a different shift - which overlaps with the time I update the fiction).
To that, there is the added situation that I finally got around to visit a dentist, and I will have to be seeing him for the next several months (two wisdom teeth extractions, and 3 or 4 crowns - which my dental plan won't cover).
This also means that Tales of the Forest: Father will take the worst hit here. From being something I used to work at every day, it will turn into something I can only work on the weekends.
On the good side, since I'm not right on the head, I started a second Interactive Fiction. This is a completely irresponsible act from me, because I will have _less_ free time, and I'm adding _more_ responsibilities with you guys. Hopefully, the fact that it will be sketchy like hell and not shaded (the style I picked is more like just inks) will make it feasible.
Well, that's pretty much it. Hugs and comments are appreciated because it makes me feel I'm not writing one of those journal no one will read.

Tales of the Forest: Father - Help me pick a species!
Posted 14 years agoFirst a small update: I really haven't got around drawing much of it for the last weeks >_>
Have been trying to tighten up the plot, to avoid drawing stuff that won't be in the game.
I'm still kinda stuck, but I have to design a Lumberjack.
So... species ideas for the Lumberjack, anyone?
Try to go for fun species, or original rather than obvious :3
=Note: even though I plan to do him sexy, he won't be fuckable in the game for now=
