Well we all know it's been like a year since i last held my wacom pencil until today.
WELL GUESS WHAT. MY COMPUTER MADE IT VERY CLEAR, IT DOES NOT ENJOY WORKING WITH ME.
And i sold my iPad so in two weeks my family could bring me a slightly better one so i'm out of options.

What's kinda nice is that i actually want to draw? Like, goodbye art block?


Let's hope this lasts at least until the newer iPad is brought in, i like drawing. I did not spend these decades practising to then ditch it like it's a boring hobby >_>

Hi there! Life has been extremely complicated this last year, around July i got a terrible part time job at a very sketchy call center, and it drained me of all my will to live. I later got a full-time job i really like in September, but that was roughly 2 hours away from home, so i barely had time to eat and sleep.
Almost two months ago, i moved out! I am now renting a cozy little apartment at only 15 minutes BY FOOT away from work, yay!

I got myself an old iPad and a Wacom stylus, so now i'm slowly but surely getting back to art, i missed it a lot!
Thankfully my loyal client  sting1990 commissioned me for a piece recently so it forced me to grab a pencil and work again, i'm forever grateful <3

Now that i live on my own i might probably tackle my long-postponed fursuit project! Who knows!

Hey all! I want to share an experience i had in class (i'm a few months away from getting my Art teaching degree, i'm already working as a teacher in some places) regarding CHARACTER DESIGN.
Please read this if you're interested in making your fursona better, more memorable, and easier on your chosen artists' brains! (this is for artists only, as you must be able to draw chibis to do this exercise)

- First of all, take your reference sheet (if you don't have one, just a clear drawing of your sona's full body) and look at it for a few minutes. THEN COVER IT and take a new sheet of paper.

- Take your favourite pencil, and WITHOUT LOOKING at your sona, draw a quick chibi. It has to be quick-ish, you have to be able to fit details in.

- Take a look at your chibi, a very good one, and COVER IT. Take a new sheet of paper.

- Here is the tricky part. Draw a chibi of your chibi without looking at it. Simplify even more.

When this is done, take your last chibi and draw it as a full-bodied character again, without adding anything. Compare with the first one (the reference drawing) and see how much you left out. Here you need to be your own best critic and think how many of the details you left out are REALLY necessary. Often, this last design is a lot better CONCEPTUALLY than the first design, but you left out something super personal. It's okay!! Just... when those "personal" details are like 25, well. That's not okay.

A fursona is a character that represents you, but it should also be like a logo in that it's super simple and memorable. A good fursona has people thinking of you when they see your colors together, it allows people to doodle you, it reduces artists' headaches by a 90% when they have to draw you! And also it makes people WANT to look at it. A FURSONA WITH TOO MUCH INFORMATION, NEON COLORS, TOO MANY STRIPES, ETC. IS OFTEN A PAIN TO LOOK AT, I'M SORRY.

Some people pick on these designs to laugh at them, and that's not nice. It's better to help people make good impressions. Let me know if this was useful! I really hope it was!

Well, dear. Calling me 'bitch' and pitying my boyfriend over a silly internet conversation seems a little rude. It seemed to me that i could have an opinion in the matter if you, so openly, explained it to me. Would you have preferred me to delete your notes without trying to discuss anything if i thought it was a delicate matter? Oh, right, i didn't think it was that delicate. You came to me in the first place, who knows from where, to ask me an opinion about something. From then on it seemed like my opinion mattered at least a little, because you kept on talking to me like you were asking for advice. You sound quite possessive of your man, if i barely said anything and you swiftly jumped at me over what i said about the little that you revealed over these past weeks. If appearances are deceitful and i misjudged, oh well, how terrible of me, right? you could have explained yourself better instead of behaving like an angry child.

I don't know what fuse in you exploded, but hey. I never had a thing to do with this in the first place. I'm not sorry nor take anything i said back. You could have handled this better instead of "pitying" my mate or talking more than you know. Really, was it necessary?
