Posted 12 years agoLately, a lot of people have been asking me questions about the stuff I do, and they usually lean towards things I've already gone into detail about in my occasional blog posts that can be found here http://k-t0f.blogspot.com/search/label/_Enterpraiz .
I go into far greater detail on personal stuff, post it about a week in advance and at a much larger size. I think copy/pasting all that text is pretty lazy and robotic, so I try to avoid it.

Revelation
Posted 12 years agoIt recently dawned on me that I may in fact be some sort of evil.
When I'm, say, watching a movie or TV show, and the gag is that one of the characters is being made miserable or taking a formidable beating, I laugh. When I'm actually laughing at another person for whatever reason, I don't. I don't laugh. I cackle. Like a mad scientist.
...And I really don't feel bad about it.

I Can Breathe Out of my Nose Again
Posted 14 years agoWell, being sick sucks, but now that that's over with, I can get back on track and do more important things, like whoring my "artistic" "talents" out for cash...
...except I can't, cause I'm out of paper at the moment. Or rather, the paper I have left is reserved. So now I'm deciding whether or not I should attempt doing cheap, simple commissions digitally. General concensus is that this is probably a bad idea. But I could use the practice or whatever. I'll figure it out. Until then, I'm closing up shop. I know, huge downwer, right? For all one or two people who actually do that, maybe.
On a different note, if you all thought I was miffed about the whole favorite removal thing, I thought of something that makes it AWESOME. It's all just a huge trolling scheme by that lovable jerk Sergeant Major Kululu. See? Now it all makes sense!

Con Man 2: The Sequel
Posted 14 years agoWelp, in about a week I'll be heading out in the world and going to Connecticon. I'll be...doing stuff. Still not entirely sure what as of yet. We'll see how it goes. I'll be the giant nose with a dork attatched to it.

...Also Galaxy 2. Need monies for it, hoho. In due time, though. Nintendo's delay of Other M is sort of a blessing in disguise; maybe I'll stop being broke by the time it comes out. :D

New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Posted 15 years agoOkay, so I've had the game since it came out. If you're one of those people that doesn't buy a sequel because it's too similar to the original, you might wanna pass on this, especially if you intend to play on your own. It's essentially the same odd somewhere between SMB3 and SMW game as the DS one, only it leans more towards the former as opposed to the latter, in the way it handles items...and difficulty.
The levels get pretty hard, some people claiming it's almost as hard as Lost Levels. I wouldn't call it that hard, but it's still a far cry from the cakewalk that the DS game was. One of the bonus levels is almost Mario romhack hard, I kid you not.
It falls into the same sort of trap it's predecessor did, in that some enemies and gimmicks only appear in one level, and then you'll never see them again. It's one of the things that disappointed me about the DS game, and this isn't any different.
You probably wanna know about Bowser's kids. Well to be blunt, they're still the same chump bosses they've always been. It's a little sad when you can do stuff like completely ignoring Lemmy's "too high for you to jump on me" gimmick by being directly above him when he stops spazzing out from the initial hit. At least they aren't completely screwed over by fireball spam, though.
They threw in some new power-ups. You have the Propeller Suit, which is essentially the leaf/feather flight power-up, minus that whole flying thing. Instead, you get what amounts to an aerial jump and hovering. There's Ice Flowers, which let you throw iceballs, which freeze enemies and even allow you to defeat some otherwise invincible enemies, like Dry Bones and Podoboo. They also get rid of most of the magic fireballs and fire breath Bowser's kids use, but are completely useless against the bosses themselves. Then, there's the Penguin Suit, which gives all the things Ice Flowers do, plus a slide attack, Frog Suit style swimming, and normal traction on icy terrain.
Then there's Yoshi. Yoshi is just like he is in SMW, except now he has the flutter jump and ground pound abilities from Yoshi's Island. Other than that, he's a bit...worse than he was in SMW. The time it takes him to swallow things will throw you off the first time you try it. But he only shows up in a handful of levels, and abandons you at the end of them for whatever reason. Still, it's nice he's around, and also provides one of my favorite little pointless gimmicks in the game. in the Pokey level(the only one they're in), on the parts of the music enemies react to, they turn into a stack of oranges. If you can make Yoshi eat them at that moment(it's not hard), he'll devour Pokey whole instead of one segment at a time, and lay an egg with a little bonus in it. Speaking of Yoshi and items though, he won't "give" you items you grab with his tongue. They stay in his mouth like shells and the like. It's not a big deal, but still a bit jarring if you're used to the older games.
All and all, it's a good game, and a nice little wake-up call for those of us used to the modern gaming difficulty. But it's not THAT hard. If a chump like me can 100% the game without ever seeing the Guide Block, so can you! Now I have to get back to attempting to make my score rollover...

Remember the NES TMNT Game?
Posted 15 years agoRemember how inapproprietely bad-ass Donatello was in it? Seriously, every time he attacked it made that "BAMF" noise. It's probably because he hits everyone so friggin' hard it knocks them into a different dimension momentarily where demons travel at twice the speed of light and beat the living crap out of anyone that shows up, then they get sent back only to get stick'd in the face again. Inversely, Raph was pretty pathetic, and you'd basically use him as a meatshield, which is really the most valuable service the poor bastard serves. yeah...it was a pretty weird game.

It really feels like I've gone absolutely nowhere in life for some reason, so it's pretty bittersweet for little old me. Also...my hair is thinning, apparently...already. But other than that, things are okay. I still have fun, amuse myself with stupid, pointless musings, and laugh at the stupidity of others. I'm fairly certain this journal will stir up some of that sort of entertainment for me.

Coming Soon
Posted 15 years agoAlright. I'm just about through compiling the little collection I mentioned recently. Thus far, it contains 35 images of varying quality(from "horrible" to "I had my friend help me actually make this look decent"), and I intend to sell it for $5 to anyone interested(note me if such is the case). I'll try to get a preview thingy up eventually.
On another note: Damn. I really, honestly cannot believe how many people actually recognized Hilda. I expected maybe one or two, but...geez. Nice to know the obscure little "kinda like Zelda" title that happens to be my favorite game got around more than I thought. ^^
