When I realized that I didn't Platinum my account I was appalled. Being that this was literally the first time in 4 years I shrugged it off.

Now that, that's out of the way... I'm back! I've been busy with work and school lately but things have finally settled down for a while. I'm looking forward to the (apocalypse free) new year and getting out of the city and travelling.

New Job at Sony/ Playstation XD
Posted 12 years agoFor starters SF Pride was freaking awesome! The entire weekend was a blast, and I could have NEVER predicted just how massive it could have been. There were (easily) 100's of thousands of people!But on a slightly different note...
About about 3 months ago I was kind of bummed after the mass layoff at SEGA because of their plans to move/merge with the London branch. But this past Friday I was ecstatic after an arduous and nail biting week of applying to Sony Playstation in Foster city. (they had the absolute most stressful and difficult English tests I've ever taken- no lie).
But they finally offered me a testing position. I was so happy and grateful , (especially) to my friend/ past cooworker who referred me to them and put in a good word in for me. Now we can carpool together from San Francisco to F. City. I can already tell Sony is going to be so much more fun than SEGA. The atmosphere is a lot more fluid, friendly and open-minded yet professional. Not that I disliked SEGA, but sometimes you get tired tired of the super hetero "bro/bra/bre/dude", ESPN , head butting mentality that dominated there.
Lastly I'm still psyched about my Eros Bathhouse art gallery, they decided to keep up my pics for a couple more months. So I'll have a chance to gain a little more exposure and maybe sell some more art. I was already able to sell a couple more pics.
It's still just the beginning of Summer but I'm really enjoying it!
Now hurry up August so I can be 21 already!

My Art Gallery at Eros Bath House/ Sex Club for Gay Pride

At first I was bummed that I wasn't going to make it to Anthro Con this year but last a week and a half ago Eros (Bath house) here in San Francisco said that they wanted to feature my artwork in their gallery for SF Gay Pride Week! I was so happy and honored especially b/c they are giving me the entire space. <3

The End of SEGA of America
Posted 12 years ago So last Friday they called everyone at SOA up to let us know that the American branch of the Company is moving/ merging with the European branch SEGA of Europe. What does that mean for me and most of everyone else? Lay-off!! For me personally, it hasn't effected me b/c there's plenty of other gaming jobs/ companies in the San Francisco Bay Area but I really did enjoy my time with them. Although they'll have small teams finishing a couple more projects, (1 of which going on until around DEC), EVERYONE else (me included*sniff*) will see the axe in April.
SEGA will still be making games of course but testing and all of that will be happening from Europe. My heart goes out to the hard workers and dedicated staff that has been with the companies years (or nearly a decade). May your wounds heal with time and I hope the best for everyone looking for work. ______██████████████

Posted 13 years agoWell I got Pokemon (white) today and I'm psyched. Everyone's rolling their eyes but half of those people are going forth!
The race to the top begins again and a lot of people I know are hitting the ground running. Just the fact that practically everyone at my work is getting it (save 3 people), my heart is burning with the competitive fire for Nintendo's nauseatingly cute cash cow franchise once again.

Yes! I am Alive! And for those of you who've noticed it's been over 5 months since I've really been on, save one or two quick "here and there log-ins".
Man, there's a lot that's happened in these months of my absence. I came out to my family, moved out of the house, quit my job and got a new one, broke up, got my drivers license, buried my best friend and (finally) got a laptop and a tablet *happy tear*... amongst a helluva lot of other things. I've been meaning to start things back up but now seems like the right time, getting a chance to catch up at FC (which I had doubts about going to this year) I'm ready to get back into my old stride and get back to doing what I love to do- DRAWING.
This time has allowed me to reevaluate my life and determine exactly what it is that I want to do with it. For starters I know I always wanted to go to Art School (more specifically the Academy of Art University) but it's not exactly one of the more cost friendly schools in California and it is in San Francisco, which is quite a bit aways from my small town of Pittsburg (CA). Which is why I decided to move to the city to pursue the school I'd been reaching for, for 4 years. Plus I decided that it was time that I broke free and started learning what it is to live on my own. After being the go-to person in my family and in my relationship I realized that I was making everyone happy but myself and to be able to move forward I was gonna have to begin anew. I came to the harsh realization that if I didn't get out of Pittsburg when I did I was going to be shackled there. For about a month before moving out I was looking for roommate situations or a small apartment in SF or Oakland (since it's cheaper & right across from SF).
But after no luck (and I don't recommend this) I took a suitcase worth of clothes and belongings, 2 months of pay and left it up to chance. (Now before you go thinking I'm such naive idealist who wasn't thinking things through, there's alot more to the story which was forcing my hasty departure ( but I'll leave out the nitty-gritty).
As for my family, they were largely accepting of my sexuality. My mom even going so far as to bragging about how she already knew, even calling up her gay friends like "Yeah he finally came out!" I didn't know whether to be happy or offended. But my dad wasn't too thrilled, after coming out, it was 2 months until we talked again, and it was merely because his girlfriend had forced him to call me to make sure I was still alive. But I decided I'm not trying to impress anybody, so I might as well capitalize the fact that I live in California and allow myself to be proud and true with myself.
Admittingly the decision to "make a break" did come with it's share of predicted consequences. The only place I had lined up, gave away their room. So after a short while of couch surfing (which I never thought I'd have to do) I had to make a very difficult decision. Either go to school with things as unstable as they were, having to take out a myriad of loans to support the semester, tuck my tail between mt legs and return home after the huge way I left with my chest puffed out, or sacrifice a semester of school to get my s**t together. (Relunctantly I chose the latter, and unenrolled myself from classes to get my ducks in a row.
I moved into a transitional living place, which had its share of pros and cons- like curfews (which almost made me burst a cardial artery. Coming from a home with little to no "structure"; having gone my whole life without being given a set time to come home, I had more than my fair share of bitching. On the flip side though- rent was only 60% percentage of my income and you got it back upon finding an "actual spot", so I wasn't really losing anything.
But it was all weighing on me and doubt and uncertainty started creeping in, I think this is the time that alot of my close friends would describe as the "what happened to you" time. I become absorbed in reaching AAU, finding a job (that didn't take 2 hours to get to) and finding housing. I had to constantly remind myself of what I was aiming for and why I was here in the city, it's very hard to be on your own and have only yourself to draw strength from. Not to mention I found myself $2000 in debt because of bailing my mom out of the pin (which she said she would pay and didn't) and unpaid cash advances that she took out in my name). Luckily I had advice offered to me from time to time and it helped a lot. But the death of my best friend came completely out of the blue; just the fact that I had allowed so much time to pass to where I didn't contact him and to find out 3 weeks after the fact and way past the funeral date (because his family didn't know my new cell#), I just had to shut all my feelings out. As a defense mechanism I just stopped feeling all that stuff, and decided that I will put it on the shelf and address those things when I am in a better position to do so. My roommate said I was heartless (lol) because I didn't cry for him but crying isn't going to bring people from the dead, I mourn for people differently.
But this wasn't intended to be an “emo journal” so moving along, after 2 months of no new job prospects I decided I was gonna haul ass and find a job before the end of December if it killed me. So after about a week and a half and enough interviews to make Mary Poppins jealous, I was offered 3 jobs in the same week (chew on that California economy!). I decided to go with a Beta Testing job with Sega of America (duh) and I've been working there ever since. NOW I'm just waiting for my furry buddy Axe to get his stuff in order, since we decided to move into a place together. I decided to stick with the transitional living for a little while longer and moved into a much better and more flexible place with less “rent” commitment (30%). It's not my ideal style of living, living under the rules of others but it's just temporary.
As for you guys who've had commissions, trades and requests with me before I fell off the face of the earth, I did not forget about you and I apologize for the wait. Also, thanks for the patience (lol no “WTF” notes -yet).
Anyway I'm glad to be back and if you're still reading this (kudos) I hope you all continue to enjoy my work. :)
