Posted 3 years agoSome know that commissions have been closed for a while, and unfortunately they will remain closed for an undefined amount of time.
But I am still drawing and producing new works, people interested can still get commissions via streams. These just don't allow for the level of complexity and detail of my main and standard works, but still an option for those who would like to get something.
Currently I am taking some studies and will be working on simpler things for a while.
Later on when I resume standard commissions some things will change, between prices, the way I work and how many spots for commissions there are at any given time.

Prices and the kind of artwork offered can vary, but these are always stated during streams.
Be sure to check out streams to catch when they're happening and if commissions are being offered at any particular given time.

► Resuming Activities
Posted 4 years agoRecovery from wisdom teeth surgery last month went pretty well and by now I am feeling fine in regards to that.
Being fully recovered from that now and warming up with some sketches getting some motivation back into drawing, I will be resuming work on commissions and other arts very soon.
Onward with big things!

► Recovering From Wisdom Teeth Extraction
Posted 4 years agoNow wuff has no wisdom teeth left! With a second visit to the dentist this August 11 got the remaining teeth extracted.
So this means several days of recovering for me.
Commissioned arts will be resumed some time from now, after full recovery and when i'm comfortable working on arts again.
Everything is well so far, but things will still be quite slow for a while, be patient with a wuff.

► Slow Wuff Updates & Commissions Opening

My apologies to anyone that's been looking up to get commissions for a long while.
In this month of June I've took a big step in taking care of my health and avoiding future complications in going though a surgery to remove 2 of 4 wisdom teeth I have. Thus I've been recovering from that, first week leaves you unable to do much of anything, second one still difficult and uncomfortable to do most things. At the time of this writing i'm into the third week and now things are easing back to normal.
Other than that, things have been going fine even with the current world situation. Wuff just been slow with arts and all.
But now is time for wuff to take care of health expenses, on top of preparing for when he gets to removed the remaining wisdom teeth... Eep! And so standard commissions will be opening (finally!). Check the information below if you're interested in submitting an application for a commission.

As some noticed, standard commissions have been closed for a few months. That's mostly due to me working on other art projects and taking commissions in-stream along this time. There are still things to work on and finish, but thought it would be a good thing to bring this up to you all for clarity. And also to inform I am planning on opening standard commissions in June, so stay tuned for that.
Besides that, if you maybe don't want to wait too long and get something simpler and quicker, I'll hold a commission stream this Sunday (May 31st) making some sketches over at: https://picarto.tv/AlefGP

I'm taking a small break here for these last days in 2019, doing / working on other things and enjoying some time doing things other than just commissions.
Looking forward to good things in 2020, to work on much more nice bigness and to keep on improving.

I've been feeling better since last month, about the pains on my wrist and arm. Still taking care of that and going slow, but I'm mostly back to normal with working on arts and such.
As mentioned in a previous journal, I've raised the base price for my commissions going forward. Reasons explained in that journal, but basically it's due to Paypal changes and limitations imposed upon here.
I am still going through the last batch of commissions, from May. That said, I am not sure if new commissions will be open before the end of this month, maybe there will be some in-stream ones. But again, it's nothing certain. I want to check with some people and maybe return to work on some specific things or work on different things.
All in all, wuff is doing alright, just slow. Prices changes due to changes out of my control and still finishing things and wanting to work on new things.

► Delays Due to Health Care
Posted 5 years agoAs of late I've been feeling a certain heavy and tiredness on my dominant arm and hand, but wasn't anything I gave much attention to at first, but after pushing it some more with artworks and constant computer usage, some more noticeable pain and soreness has been in place, enough I can't really ignore it currently.
To recover from this and avoid further aggravating my situation, I'm taking a break and delaying some currently in progress and future artworks for the time being.
In the case of commissions, these will be resumed after I can recover.
My apologies for the inconvenience.

► Dealing With Changes - Feedback Wanted
Posted 5 years agoDue to new PayPal regulations imposed by the Central Brank of Brazil, we here won't have the possibility to have any foreign currency in our accounts balance anymore (like USD), as it will be automatically converted to BRL (Brazilian Reais).
That takes away the liberty of having any currency we want and to convert to our own currency only when we wanted as well. On top of adding another layer of fees and taxing when trying to buy anything in another currency, as now it forces you to use credit cards as the only option to do so (as the Paypal balance itself can't be used for international payment at all anymore), like commissioning another artist or paying for any digital good or service like a premium month of Picarto.
It often feels like here in Brazil most things are made against the population, the small ones, and only to bureaucratize things even more and in favor of the rich and big companies that want to stay established without effort and without competition...
In preparation to that, I will be slightly increasing my prices in June to cover the extra costs, forced conversions and the added limitations of PayPal.
Other than that, in an attempt to keep myself afloat while providing more artwork as I can, I have a couple points I would like to hear some feedback from you all.
• How do you feel about 'Drives' (like the past couple growth drives) and 'Fund Raisers'?
• What would you like of someone's Patreon to support it? (I currently use it as an art backlog and thus offering early access to supporters)

Welcome all, to a new growth drive involving the amazing big cat
Wyldsyde! Let's begin Macro Wyld March!
► How does it work? ◄
• Wyldsyde starts at 2,24m (7'4")
• My goal is to do anywhere between 1 to 3 pictures each week (possibly Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday), hopefully the latter but most likely 2 unless lucky.
• Wyldsyde grows on the according way each round:
Likes: 1% size
Retweets: 2% size
5% size per $1
(Check my Twitter)
• A new round starts right after a picture from the previous round is posted.
• For each round, a top donator's character will be featured in the picture with Wyldsyde. Don't forget to leave your references with your donation, or else you might miss the chance!
└ Priority is given to donators that haven't had their character featured yet.
└ If a top donator altready had their character featured, then the runner up donator is picked, unless they had a character featured before, then it goes to the next donator in line and so on.
└ Otherwise, the same donator can have their character featured again by having the highest donation.
*UPDATE*: Rounds 12 and 13 won't have top donators' character featured. The characters to be featured in the last pictures are set.

► State of the Art (and Progress)
Posted 5 years agoJanuary passed, it was quite busy and 'full', each new year usually welcomes you with a whole lot of things to check, pay and plan.
There wasn't too much activity in art, I worked on some small gifts for some people I wanted to get done no matter what, the crazy hot temperatures from our summer also have just been making it all a huge struggle and discomfort to make drawings and with that let's just say I kind of took a month off.
Now it's over a month into 2019, finally not all days around here have been inferno-hot anymore and I've been managing to draw more consistently again (aside from a small computer problem nuisance that just happened these days, but all is good to go again now). That said I guess is worth bringing up some points.
About commissions... I got asked a few times since the end of 2018 to be honest, and still I haven't opened standard commissions. I have been back to streaming more regularly and with that also focusing much more on "in-stream" commissions lately. Basically commissions you can only get if you're watching the stream at the time these commissions are offered.
I may open for some standard commissions too possibly, I understand not everyone can catch the streams, even day-long streams don't have commissions being offered at all times. Yet there is - perhaps - one or a few more projects I want to get to work on (in the case of some it is to actually finish them) and I just want to properly plan and be ready for them, without too much commitment on other commissions or anything else so I can focus and commit to said project[s].
To me each different type of commissions attend to different needs and have their different points.
For standard commissions:
• Art can take longer
• Do not depend on commissions from other people occupying the same page to be finished
• You have multiple scribbles of your idea to choose from before work on the art begins
• You get previews of your picture as it progresses
• Art is streamed, but doesn't require you to be present in streams at the time it's being worked on
• Contact through email along production and the ongoing period of the commission
• After a sketch preview, small/simple changes can be made during that stage
For in-stream commissions:
• Art can be quicker
• Depend on a full page of drawings being filled (usually with commissions from others) before delivery is possible
• You can provide an idea/character/pose/scenario/theme, but the artist ultimately chooses how to express it in the drawing (more artistic freedom)
• Small changes can be made if you're still present in stream during the sketch stage
• Art is streamed and it's required for you to be in stream to take a commission, at least until your art gets started
• Contact only happens during stream through chat/pm. After that the artwork is delivered at a later date.
• It needs to be made clear where the artist can deliver the art for you (FA/DA account, email, etc.)
Well, with that all stated, I will try to make more efforts to announce streams and in-stream commissions more often, besides trying to make it clearer when standard commissions are open/closed.
I hope you all look forward to getting some artwork and to seeing new pictures from this year as they keep coming. Reminding that you can also always see pictures first and have a way to support me over on my Patreon! There was a small delay on posting things, but it will all be normalized soon, stay tuned!

For those that do not know about FAFS
FAFS is a sort of 'mini event' where some small and simple free art requests are offered by me to anyone during stream(s) for either a limited time or in a limited amount of art slots, but people can give some support by tipping money and, in turn, that will either extend the time limit (for more arts to be made) or increase the amount of art slots limit.
The art is free, anyone can ask for something. While time and art slots are not free, anyone can help add more to these by tipping.
End of the year FAFS
So before it's Christmas, I'm bringing FAFS back to give people the chance to get something for themselves or for someone they want to gift.
For that, FAFS streams will be happening starting any time this weekend and lasting until the end of the week, Friday 21st, so I can hopefully clean up artworks on the next weekend and deliver them all before the 25th.
