I don't get it. What does this service actually do?

The most important thing it does for us is give us a lot of features that Patreon creators have been asking for forever, chief among them a gallery system. It also gives us a lot more options for delivering rewards to specific tiers or other groups of patrons in ways that are much more convenient and useful than what Patreon currently offers directly on their own site. (Hell, Patreon's actual response to a lot of suggestions for new features on the site has actually been to tell us that we're free to use third-party sites to get those features, and that we should because they're probably not going to give them to us.)

The other thing it does for us is give us some protection from people leaking Patreon content before it's been publicly released and lets us know exactly who is responsible for leaked content so that we can block them from gaining access to future content from then on. (This is another thing Patreon doesn't actually seem to care much about, and getting them to do almost anything to protect their creators is like pulling teeth.)

The site is still very much a work-in-progress, but it's been great for us so far. The developer is open to suggestions from the creators using it, and has a list of features and improvements offered by said creators that he's always working through as he's able.

It's also, sadly, a pain to use (as a patron)

No no.. .just point blank a pain to use.. I was a supporter , and still want to be, but that site is a nightmare.

Would certainly be interested if you'd be willing to let us know any specifics of what made the site hard to navigate. We'll gladly send along feedback to the developer in order to make the site more functional.

Could you elaborate on what it is exactly that makes the site a pain for you to use? If we're made aware of usability issues, we can take them up with the developer to see about getting them fixed.

Well, when I was your Patron and before PrimeLeap, I had a very busy and hectic work schedule, so when I got Patreon emails informing me that you had made a new upload (on my phone) I just clicked there to see the comic image, enjoyed it, and then I was done. Now with PrimeLeap, I got the Patreon email, but I had to now click somewhere else to get to the images. Ok, now I'm on PrimeLeap's website, oh, right, I have to create an account... the process was very painful to do over the phone; so much that I did it on the computer later when I was home.
Let's fast forward to me now having a Prime Leap account. So I got your Patreon email, but I had to click to get to PrimeLeap instead to enjoy the comic page; oh, right, I have to login. I never left the password saved there because that's not how I normally use services, and normally this is not a problem, but inputting the gosh darned password was also a pain. Alright, I'm FINALLY logged in. Now I have to browse your gallery to try to find your newest upload; I see I missed a page, but PrimeLeap showed me the latest immediately instead of the previous one... ok where do I click... oh man this takes really really long... ah, my break is over, I couldn't even see the picture. Later when I got home I had already forgotten about checking your comic. Eventually this devolved into me not even trying to check your new uploads and I got so off-sync that I started seeing new pages On FurAffinity, at that point I thought "what am I even doing here?" and lowered my Patreon pledge I think, or quit altogether because not too much later I quit my job.
What was specifically wrong with PrimeLeap? Bad UX. Bad navigability, small links, bad optimization... it made it easier to just wait for FurAffinity uploads of pages than trying to fight against their website.

TL;DR: PrimeLeap's usability and optimization should be KEY because they're competing against an email that comes with the image pre-loaded ready to enjoy; and yet everything about them is slow, clumsy and inconvenient. It's like a punishment for being a Patron.

This site seems really promising and I hope it will be successful, now that I'm a creator on Patreon I thought it'd be a good idea to start using it for some monthly pics I do. I also like the fact that I can have different resolutions on a picture, and I can pick which ones are free and which ones you have to be a Patron.

But it's true that the site is a huge mess right now, it's frustrating to use, and very very slow, which I can tolerate as the site is new and things are being done. But the major issue I have right now, is that anything that I upload doesnt works. It shows up the thumbnail but when you click on it you get a blank image, I have tried several times, and I waited a whole 8 hours :(, I'm between the limits too (9mb image, .png) so I dont know what to do (oh right I should send a message to support 8D)

I programmed an update last night to fix this issue. Turns out 32 GB of RAM isn't enough for 13,000 people. Had to put those servers on a low carb diet.
