The new version of 'A Year and a Day'
Hey folks! Welcome back! The new version of A Year and a Day began posting on the Code Name: Hunter site earlier this year in January. In the hopes of attracting a wider audience, I thought I'd start sharing the series here as well! Pages will be posted once a week on Mondays.
What is A Year and a Day? A Year and a Day is a small press comic about what happens when magic and the Fey return after the events of World War II. It's a historical, urban fantasy involving skeletal horses, a ticking clock, a magical princess, and a butler with dreams of being a hero. While the comic was intended for adults, kids ages ten and up can easily enjoy it was well.
Why Patreon? Patreon is a way for folks who enjoy my work to offer a bit of support and encouragement. While A Year and a Day is available to read for free online, Patrons get a first crack at the story as a thank you for their support. With their help I'm able to cover the PT and chiro that helps keep the nerve damage in my drawing arm under control. This is important because when the nerve damage flares up, I'm unable to work. And since the writing and art are both by me… not being able to work means no new content. So sad.
Who are you? I'm Darc Sowers, a former Tech / Young Adult Services librarian who left librarianship over ten years ago to draw comics about mice with swords. It's saner than it sounds. Before receiving my MLS I spent my college years dissecting literature and participating in fiction writing classes. I love horses, history, spooky things, skulls, comics, and books.
Now that that's all out of the way, let's get this comic show on the road. Enjoy and thanks for reading!
