☽ PROCESS: ☾
╰━゜・╮★╭・゜━╯
Commission Request: Commissioners must be at least 18 years of age to commission me. Please send email (or note) with your name, description of what kind of commission you would like, your character reference, and any other references you would like for me to use ( additional characters, props, scenery, etc ). Please send me a request only when you are ready to have a commission done ( have your ideas, references, and payment or payment plan ready ) or have a date in which you would like to schedule a commission. After consultation is complete and all details have been gathered a quote will be made for the price of your commission. By commissioning me you confirm that all characters, references/likenesses provided are owned by you or that you have permission from the owner for the character to be used and that if your chosen character is from a closed species that the piece you're commissioning doesn't break any terms of the closed species TOS. Thank you so much for commissioning me!
Quotes: Quotes are an estimated total given during consultation whenever someone inquires about a commission. Quotes will expire after 1 year. If the potential commissioner would still like the commission, a new quote will need to be given based on my current prices~
Payment: Full payment must be made upfront and process successfully before I can begin working. Payment plans are available upon request ( All commissions with payment plans will be placed in my Pending Queue until payment is made in full and will then be placed in my Main Queue ). Minimum payment plan amount is 50usd per payment, this is to keep the amount of invoices I need to send to a reasonable amount as online transactions do take an additional fee per invoice~ If you would like to help cover this fee or transaction fees in general, consider leaving a tip it truly does help so much! When all terms are agreed upon, I will send you an invoice via Square or Paypal for your payment. Once our payment has processed successfully our commission will be added to my Queue to be worked. A payment confirmation message will be sent to you as well as a link to my Queue, our current number in Queue, as well as a loose completion time estimate for your convenience!
Accepted Methods of Payment:
Square
Paypal
Cash (only in person payments)
Card (Square reader or Square invoice)
Currency: USD (United States Dollars) only, please.
Shipping: I ship via USPS~ Any physical item commissions will require payment for shipping costs. Shipping costs are individually calculated depending on the commissioners address and country of residence. I offer 2 levels of Shipping, Standard Shipping ( uninsured ) and Priority Shipping ( insured for the value of the item shorter shipping time peace of mind! But it does cost a bit more )~ Once our commission is complete, I will send a completion confirmation message and ask for current shipping information as well as the name you would like for me to use on the packaging. This timing is to confirm that I have the correct address just in case any folks have moved and name to ensure I am using the name you prefer and like best! A confirmation message will be sent to you once your commission has been shipped with tracking number and estimated delivery date if available ( domestic packages usually come with a tracking number/estimated delivery date but international packages usually do not ). All commissions are packaged carefully for safe and secure shipping with cushioning or reinforcement to keep your items safe while in transit. In the event that your package is ever shipped back to me, I will send a message to let you know and to confirm our shipping information. It is the commissioners responsibility to pay shipping and handling fees to have the items shipped again.
Pick Ups: I only offer pick ups at my dealers den tables at conventions. I do not offer local pick ups or deliveries.
Posting/Sharing: My commissioners are welcome to share our commissions where ever they feel comfortable, my only request is to please credit and link to me as the artist~If you're concerned about theft/use/printing without permission please feel free to share the watermarked version of our commission which is provided upon completion which will help keep our commission safe and just for you!
References: A color visual reference is required for all character artwork. Working with a character reference sheet is preferred but not required as long as a color reference can be provided. Artwork of the chosen character will work if it properly shows the characters visual details such as species, markings/colors, body shape, hairstyle, etc. I do offer Reference Sheets if you would like to get one!
Lost Badges: If a traditional commission is ever lost in the Post or lost by the commissioner, a high quality print can be made and laminated as a Badge Replacement for 10usd Shipping ( includes print, lamination, and badge clip ), and reshipped!
Customer Service: Commissioner comfort is very important to me, if you have any questions or concerns during the production of your commission, please feel free to contact me anytime ( email : truebluestandish[at]gmail.com ). All of your requests and needs will be heard/read and responded to as soon as I'm able!
Response Time: I aim for within 24 hours but please allow up to 72 hours for responses in case of emergency~ I respond to messages during regular business hours ( MST ) to help keep a healthy work/life balance and allow myself time to rest and unplug in the evenings. Rest assured that you can contact me about commissions at any time but if messages are sent after regular business hours I will respond to them the following business day. Thank you for your understanding and supporting healthy lifestyle choices!
WIPs ( Work in Progress ) : I only offer WIPs for Reference Sheets that require a lot of back and forth between the artist and commissioner to work on a design~ All other commission types are priced to be worked straight through, start to finish, using the references and details given during the detail gathering stage with the trust of my commissioners that I'll be giving them my very best work and will make them something special!
Deadlines: I set my own deadlines unless otherwise set by the commissioner. If you have a time you need to have your commission completed by, please let me know during consultation and before I begin working so that I can best accommodate you. Different commission types have different completion times ( animation and reference sheets taking the longest ), please consider this when contacting me for projects with certain deadlines. I need enough time to deliver my best work and may have to politely decline your commission if not enough time is given~ With each commission I give a completion time estimate of when your commission will be completed but this estimate is loose and not absolute. If you ever wonder about the status of our commission please let me know anytime and I will give you an update! ' u '
Completion Time : When your commission is complete, a "Your Commission is Complete!" message will be sent to you with a link to my post online of our commission and to confirm where to deliver our finished pieces ( Digital Commissions are delivered via email, and Traditional and Crafty Commissions are shipped. ) Completion/turn around time on a commission heavily depends on it's medium ( animation and reference sheets taking the longest ), content, and place in queue. Current average wait time is around 3~6 months with my working full-time, all the time~
Tips: Tips are not required but are really appreciated when given! After a number of requests I have activated the tipping options on both my Paypal and Square invoices as well as made a Ko-fi account ( https://ko-fi.com/atrueblueartist ) if anyone would ever like to apply or send a tip~ I work very hard to provide great customer service and am very honored to receive any tip! ; u ;
My Requests, My Rights:
★ If your commission was digital and any crops are made to the piece after completion, leave my signature intact.
★ Any use of my personal work, commercial and non-commercial without my written permission is not allowed.
★ Any use of my commissioned work, commercial and non-commercial without my and the owners written permission is not allowed.
★ I reserve the right to cancel a project at any time for any reason.
★ I reserve the right to refuse service for any reason.
★ I reserve the right to work in the way I am most comfortable. This includes : Working on multiple projects at one time (commission and personal), working in medium batches, completing commissions out of order of my queue ( I try to work projects in order as much as possible ), taking stretch breaks, taking sick leave, breaks to see family/friends, etc.
★ All artwork created by me is copyrighted to me as the artist. All characters are copyrighted to their owners.
★ The style/design of any artwork I produce is copyrighted to me as the artist. This includes but is not limited to: Characters, likenesses, props, situations, environments, ideas, etc. of my design. Unless developed/designed by me, all content is the property of their respected commissioner/creator.
★ I reserve the right to add any commission work I've done to my personal portfolio, and post to any and all of my portfolio and personal websites. That being said commissioner comfort is very important to me! If you would ever like for a commission piece to be kept private, please let me know at any time and I will remove the piece from public view.
★ I understand that as the artist I can but I personally do not sell prints of commissioned pieces~ Although if I would ever like to I will ask out of respect to the commissioner.
★ I reserve the right to use any commission work I've done for self promotional purposes.
★ Please, please, please do not ask for a commission when you are not ready. Please have what you would like in mind and full payment or payment plan schedule ready when contacting me about commissions. I get very excited about working with people on projects and it hurts my feelings when I take ( sometimes several hours ) time for consultation for a person to never commission or lose interest later.
★ During the commission process, please don't ask repeatedly if your piece is finished or if I'm working on it. If I'm not sleeping/taking healthy breaks, sick, or enjoying time with loved ones, I am working. I work hard on each project and will send updates when they are ready. Anything more would be taking unnecessary time away from working on a piece, make completion take longer, as well as cause me stress. ; ^ ;
★ If you are an inpatient person or require a quick turn around time, please do not hire me. My work is detailed and takes a lot of time and care to create, I cannot and will never rush my work. It's very important to me that my commissioners get only my best and no one deserves a rushed commission~ If you would like a commission for a special occasion, please make your commission request and payment at the appropriate prior time ( depending on requested commission type ) so that I can deliver my best~
★ Please do not attempt to haggle with me on my prices/quotes for a project. My prices/quotes are determined by the time needed to complete a project based on all requests made by the commissioner during consolation. If a quote is too high, please consider lowering the shading tier or the amount of content in a commission; this is the only way I can offer a lower price for a project.
★ Please, please, please do not ask me to work for free. This includes any requests made of me to do something art/skill related for you that doesn't include proper payment or compensation. I work very hard on each project I am given and my artwork is solely how I make my living. Any work I do takes time, care, and energy to create and deserves compensation. Any gift artwork I do is done of my own choice and is not suggested or requested ( please don't ask for gifts ); it takes time/care/energy that I have taken from my own free time to make. Gift art is not free art. ; ^ ;
★ Please do not ask me to do any art related work as means to pay off guilt.Example : "Make it up to me by doing free art for me." This is taking advantage of an artist and a really unkind thing to do, even in jest. ; ^ ;
★ If your chosen character is of a closed species please check to make sure your commission with me is not breaking the closed species TOS. By providing me character reference you agree that the character is owned by you or you have full permission from the characters owner and that if your chosen character is from a closed species that the piece you're commissioning doesn't break any terms of the closed species TOS. There are so many closed species, I can't know all of them and their rules. Please read your closed species TOS and know what is and isn't okay to commission with them.
★ Looking for constructive critique? Just ask! My personal rule of thumb is to always ask for critique and never give it when it's not asked for. It can be seen as rude or hurtful after a piece is complete and especially if critique wasn't asked for~ Critique exists for folks to improve their skills! Constructive critique is, in my opinion, best used when a piece is still in progress ( not complete ) when the artist is open to critique and looking to make changes to the artwork.
I Do Not:
★ Do paid rush work or rush any project. No one deserves a rushed commission~
★ Provide the raw file of any piece.
★ Work for Free.
★ Offer sketch approval except for Reference Sheet commissions.
★ Haggle prices.
Themes/content I cannot/do not draw :
Please know that I do not have a negative opinion of folks who have interest in most of the themes/content that I can't and won't draw; I want to be as understanding and respective of people's individual interests as I can, just not draw it for a living. Doing so would make me uncomfortable and unable to provide my absolute best work so unfortunately if anyone ever requests the content listed below I will have to politely decline~ ; u ; There are several very skilled artists out there who I'm certain can take care of your requests and will enjoy doing so!
If you have a theme/content you're not sure I can do please feel free to contact me and ask and I will let you know!
★ Scat/Flatulence/Watersports/Diapers ( anything having to do with bodily waste/fluids )
★ Rape/Non consent
★ Sex/Masturbation/Sex Toys ( 1 or more characters having sexual intercourse )
★ Underage/Children/Minors depicted in any sexual way.
★ NSFW Feral ( feral characters depicted in any sexualized way )
★ Excessive bodily harm (Maiming, murder, crushing, being crushed )
★ Vore or Cannibalism
★ Asphyxiation (chocking, suffocation)
★ Inflation/Hyper ( excessively large body parts or figures )
★ Un~willful enslavement/Slavery
★ Any content promoting violence or hatred against individuals or groups.
★ Fanwork/fanart, anything containing copyrighted content that is not owned by either the artist or commissioner. ( OCs are okay! )
Themes/content I do accept that folks might not know about :
★ Human/Humanoid Characters
★ Any Gender/Species/Age of Characters
★ Chubby/Fat Characters
★ Feral Characters ( must be SFW )
★ "Chibi" or "Kemono" Characters
★ Action/Blood/Mild Violence
★ Harajuku/Lolita Fashion
★ Seasonal Themes
★ Underwater/Sinking
★ Suspension
★ Artistic Nudity/"Pin Ups"
★ Lingerie/Burlesque
★ BDSM ( the consent factor is key for me! ; u ; )
Edits: If a mistake is made on a commission, payment to cover the time to make the edit is not required. Any aspect of design that has not been specified by the commissioner during consolation has been left to my artistic skill and cannot be considered a mistake ( artistic freedom ). Any edits I would not consider a mistake via the details specified during consultation will require additional payment depending on the time taken to conduct the edit. All edit requests will need to be quoted. Edits are mainly for Digital Commissions; Badges, as laminated artwork, cannot be edited after lamination/completion~ A friendly reminder, please double check your references and details to make sure they are accurate and as you would like them when commissioning an artist.
Delays: Each project has a unique completion time depending on requested content, it's position Queue, etc. I aim for completion within 2 weeks~5 months but this cannot always happen. If at any time a reasonable delay occurs I post a public journal with an explanation as well as time frame of when I can return to work. A good example of this is conventions~ Each convention is planned 6~8 months in a advance and require 2 weeks preparation prior to the event as well as attendance. I keep a journal of all the conventions I attend and plan to attend available here : https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7285135/
Commissions Queue: My Commissions Queue contains all of my commissioned projects that are queued to be worked kept in the order of full payment. Projects labeled with STARTER are smaller projects ( such as icons or sketches ) to be completed as "starters" for the work day and really help with my productivity~ As such these projects do get completed sooner or out of order.
Pending Queue: For larger projects or projects where it's requested I do offer payment plans! Projects that have a payment plan/segmented payments are placed in my Pending Queue while it's being paid on~ Once full payment is made the project is moved to my Commissions Queue to make it's way on up to be worked. This is also where projects are placed while on hold by a commissioner~
Requests List: If a serious interest is expressed in getting a certain item or commission, your interest is noted in my non-public Requests List. A reminder is sent after a while to gauge interest or within a month of that item/commission becoming unavailable so folks won't miss out! Any requests that go unanswered for over a year or passed the availability time is removed from my Requests List.
Refunds: If at any time you feel a refund is needed ( no worries, things happen! ), please contact me as soon as possible. All funds covering stages of the commission ( sketch, line work, flat color, full shading, purchased materials for the commission project, etc. ) that have already been completed unfortunately cannot be refunded. If payment was made via a payment plan through PayPal that extended past the 180 day refund window, refunds will be made minus the transaction fee that was taken by PayPal on each invoice ( they unfortunately keep transaction fees after the refund window closes ; ^ ; ). If partial work on your commission has been done, you will receive the work that has been completed alongside your adjusted refund. Custom handmade physical items ( or "Crafty Commissions" ), made to your size or custom specifications cannot be refunded or exchanged. These items were made to your specifications discussed during consolation and cannot be easily resold or deconstructed for materials. Please be absolutely sure in your sizing/color requests when commissioning a Crafty Commission. This should go without saying, but if you need a refund or have any questions or concerns please contact me before opening/escalating a claim on Paypal or Square. It is very inconsiderate to do this without contacting the artist. Any commissioner who does this will be blacklisted and I will not work with them.
Faulty Claims/Requests Policy: Faulty Claims/Requests ( or "slot squatting" ) will not be tolerated~ If the commissioner fails to make proper payment of their claim/request by the time/date agreed upon during consultation or stated in the project description they will be issued a warning. If the commissioner fails a second time, a second more firm warning will be issued. If the commissioner fails a third time, their claim/request will be removed, and their account blocked so no future faulty claims/requests can be made. Three strikes, you're out. ; ^ ; It is not a kind thing to do to an artist or to the folks who want a slot. Mentioning that you're interested and will commission something in the future does not count as an official claim/request and is simply a kind comment ( which is much appreciated! ) and is not subject to the Faulty Claims/Requests Policy~ Your interest is simply noted! Any Claims/Requests where we discuss commission details, exchange references, quote a project, a time of payment is given, etc. is considered an official request or claim and is subject to the Faulty Claims/Requests Policy.
Alterations/Collaborations: Collaborations are really fun to do with other artists! If you have a piece of artwork by another artist that you would like for me to alter/add to ( add a character, background, color, shading, text, alter in anyway, etc ) I will need written permission from the original artist(s) for 2 things. 1, that it's okay for the artwork to be altered, and 2, that they are okay with another artist ( me ) altering the work for you~ Intellectual property is really important to me and I work hard to protect my own as well as those of other artists that I have the pleasure of working with. I never want to step on any toes and asking permission is the right thing to do~
Trade Policy: I currently only accept art Trades with friends or folks I have worked with in the past and trust. This is not means to upset anyone but a way to help protect myself from being taken advantage of. If a Trade is made with me the other person can be assured that I will always complete my end. Any accepted Trade Request that goes without response for over a year will be removed from my Trades Queue ( both artists are either too busy, or one may have lost interest, this is okay! ). My end of Trades will be delivered when both ends are complete, this is to avoid any unfairness. Trade projects do have the longest wait times as my commissioned projects do take priority out of respect for my commissioners. Trades are for fun and are worked on in my spare time.
Annual Events/Seasonal Offerings: I offer a number of commission types during annual events or seasonal listings such as my Annual Special Limited Time Themed Badge ( new years ), Time Travel Badge Event ( mid-year ), as well as seasonal themed listings ( spring, summer, autumn, and winter )~ I announce the bigger Events about 2 weeks in advance of opening via journal post. While I do my best to offer as much as I can I only do so when I feel I can comfortably complete the new projects within a certain time frame. That being said, unfortunately no annual event or seasonal listing is guaranteed to happen each year~
Artist Process: As most folks know each artist has their own unique way of working that is most comfortable for them where they are the most creatively driven and productive. For me personally switching between mediums and working on multiple projects in Queue of different mediums really boosts my productivity and creativity, avoiding the dreaded "burn out" on certain pieces or mediums. So I have what I call "digital days", "traditional days", "crafty days", and "animation days" where I will work on projects in that medium~ These days are usually decided by what feels best that day so it isn't something I plan in advance or announce. Which means that I can have multiple ( anywhere from 2~8, but sometimes more ) projects in production at any one time and sometimes work projects in batches. This sometimes leads to my completing certain projects out of order in my Queue~ While I do my best to complete projects in order, sometimes while a larger project at the top of my Queue is in production, smaller projects ( which take less time because they are smaller ) will be completed on my days I'm working a different medium; being simply a result of my working process~ On average I have about about 20 projects in queue at all times and keep very busy throughout the year. This is what I am most comfortable with and while my Queue having 20 projects may seem intimidating to some, please do not worry~ I take on each project knowing full well that I will be the one working and completing each one to the best of my ability and skill and have always delivered~ Clear communication and commissioner comfort are very important to me and have built my commission process from those values. My commissioners deserve my very best work, I spend as much time as feels right dedicated to each project, working the way I am most comfortable~ Each day I work with characters and ideas that mean so much to my commissioners, it is an honor and a true pleasure whenever someone chooses me as the artist for a project. ; u ; Please know that each one is tended with this kind of respect and care~
(If you have any additional questions for how I work, please feel free to contact me at any time and let me know. ' u ' Please see Contact section near the top. )
