NEW ADTR FUCK YES

YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE, AND THAT'S ONE TOO MUCH. WHAT'S THE WORLD GONNA SAY WHEN I CALL YOUR BLUFF PUNK?
2:47!
THAT. BREAKDOWN. UGHHHH.
It feels so different from the last record, but that can be said about all of ADTR's new songs right? All I can say is that it feels good to have ADTR be HEAVY again!
Some thoughts while I jam out to this song:
About...six months(?) after What Separates Me From You, ADTR's last album came out, they were SUPPOSED to be released from their label, Victory Records, but since ADTR kinda blew up and started hauling in the $$$, Victory didn't wanna let them go. So ADTR sued them lmao. I have no idea what's up with their label situation right now, but I DO know that they claimed in their intro video found on adtr.com (don't think it's there anymore) that this record was entirely self-funded, just like one of their old records, I thinkkkk.
Tom Denney, who wrote some of the guitar for all of ADTR's records so far (was the lead guitarist for a while but left to pursue a family and a recording studio, you might've heard some of the work he's produced with We Are Defiance and Close To Home) is back in some capacity. He's decent at writing guitar parts (so long as he doesn't straight up rip them off other bands COUGHCOUGHTHROWDOWNCOUGH), and I know he does rap music, not sure how I feel about rapping on an ADTR record. We'll seeeeee.
Anyway!
After hearing this a few times...I'm not entirely sold on it right this second, but it's slowly reeling me in. I think the chorus is kinda generic and overplayed in this song, but the verses? Mmmm. And that breakdown? MMMMMMMM <3
I'm stuck between "eh" and "YES FUCK YES MORE PLEASE"
We'll see when this record comes out. Between The Plot In You's "Could You Watch Your Children Burn" and A Day To Remember's "Common Courtesy", 2013 looks like it's going to be either a pretty cool year or a pretty bland year for hardcore music.
Time will tell!
More opinions over here!
mother fucker!
